Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Steve and Ceci are such lovely and down to earth people! Staying at their place was really enchanting, the cabin feels like something out of Snow White-it’s simple but also very detailed and you can tell thought was put in the space. The clawfoot bathtub was wonderful, and despite the winter chill the place managed to stay warm. There’s a bookshelf full of books with California flora and fauna. Their dogs are funny and very active, and there’s maybe about. 60 chickens there? Both domestic and wild. Both the area in the back next to the cows and the highway besides the river were lovely to walk beside and explore. Overall it was a wonderful way to get away from the hustle and hustle of things and relax and explore! Hope to be back soon 💕

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

I had a wonderful stay here. The silence, stars, multitude of birds (including Sandhill Cranes!), water, and joyful farm animals were restorative for my soul. The rustic and charming cabin was delightful with a window view of splendid sunsets, cool art and stylistic decor, an efficient heater, and a spacious bathtub. The hosts were gracious, responsive, welcoming, and thoughtful; they went above and beyond in making sure my stay went well.

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

Ceci and Steve were so warm and accommodating for my dog and I last minute. I couldn't have imagined a better place to reset. This was my first time using hipcamp. I was set on finding a cozy inn to retreat to for the weekend and get somewriting done. Of course everything was booked or insanely expensive so I turned to hipcamp and I truly couldn't have planned it better. The cabin had everything I needed to be comfortable. You could really tell that so much thought went into every little detail. From the clawfoot tub, to porch with the little fenced in yard. Every light was on a dimmer! I was so charmed by this as someone who works with light a lot (photographer) and love creating ambiance! Clearly they poured their hearts into creating such an amazing space. I kept joking to my friends the cabin was like a storybook and I felt like I was the Celestial Seasons Bear. They were both so sweet to my dog Beaux and we had lots of nice walks around the property and beyond. Only downside was it was a bit muggy and buggy at times so definitely prepare if you're sensitive to mosquitos or other critters. This was no fault of Ceci & Steve's and to be expected when visiting the Delta! Oh, and there really were so many amazing birds to view and the sound of birdsong and coyotes throughout the day and night. The whole experience was so dreamy and relaxing and I definitely want to go back!

6 nights at Delta Respite

I had such a restorative, restful time at Steve and Ceci’s beautiful cabin on their farm on Sherman Island. I had been worried that it was too close to civilization to give me the peace and quiet I was looking for but this couldn’t have been further from the truth. While the cabin was close enough to town to meet with friends in Walnut Creek or get supplies, it was far enough away to feel worlds away from San Francisco. Steve and Ceci were consummate hosts, providing everything I needed from additional firewood for the fire pit (and accompanying fire building assistance!) to bottled water. The clawfoot tub with bath salts was a particularly lovely touch but the cabin was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. My dog absolutely adored staying here, and was able to roam the large property that was completely fenced in, meeting the farm dogs and the chickens. There is even a hammock and a comfortable lounge chair to do some reading in the shade. What more could you ask for?

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

The cozy cabin on Steve and Ceci's property was perfect for my solo getaway. The cabin has just what you need to unwind and relax - a lounge chair with a little fire pit, a soaking tub with a candle and bath salts with a rack to hold my kindle/book while soaking. The small table provided space to eat and sit to watch the bird bath and sunsets. Steve and Ceci were so welcoming to me and my dog, we are very grateful for their space!

Steve and Cecil’s property is amazing. I was feeling like time was going really fast in my daily routine and was looking for a short, solo break away to slow things down. This spot delivered! I really enjoyed wandering about, reading outside, taking a bath, and hanging out with all the animals. Chickens especially were super entertaining, always up to something. Winnie the pig is so incredibly special. Steve and Ceci were such gracious hosts, and lovely people. I can’t recommend their place enough for a quick getaway!

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

I had a lovely weekend on a solo trip with my dog. Ceci & Steve are so friendly, the dogs, chickens, and pot-belly pig are delightful, and the cabin is super clean and cozy! What an amazing stay! This was probably my favorite stay I’ve ever had, the space was so cute and cozy and Ceci and Steve were so kind. You also can’t beat that tub! I’m solo traveling with my little dog and we both felt so comfortable and safe staying. I will never forget it ❤️

Really enjoyed the quiet and nature hard to find traveling for work. It’s perfect for 1 person, hotel or cabin? I look forward to next time take a longer walk. Took a walk around the property at sunset, beautiful view, relaxing at the end of the day and then a bath! The best after driving 8hours. The birds, coyote and nature whats not to love.

I loved staying at the cabin. It’s so close to town, yet feels like you are far away in the countryside, with chickens and birds and trees all around, and the water is just a short walk away. Waking up to the sound of birdsongs and rustling leaves, without any noise from cars, people or airplanes, felt like a dream come true. It was also such a pleasure to meet the lovely hosts—and of course, sweet and friendly dog Willie! ❤️❤️❤️

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

Such a tranquil place for me and my dog to refresh and rejuvenate from burnout and do nothing. You can see and hear different birds from treetops to ground floor-owls, blackbirds, chickens and roosters. I have a harmless bird dog vizsla lab mix and he loved it so much. The chirping was very Snow White and relaxing to hear. We even got the chance to meet Winnie the pig who was so super sweet. We left the back gate and were able to walk and collect our thoughts as we bird watched and enjoyed the view of Mount Diablo in the distance. The perfect do nothing place! I wish we stayed an extra day longer. It was cozy for me and my dog. The hosts were lovely, inviting, kind, and friendly. My dog loved their dogs.

Kind and thoughtful hosts. Surrounded by animal companions (dogs, birds, cats, cows… farm life). Rich fertile land, wide open quiet space. Delicious bathtub and a fire pit.
