Beautiful natural campsites in the Valley of the Moon (Ojai Valley). Our sites are within an eighth of a mile of walking, running, biking, and riding trails from Ojai to the beaches of Ventura. On many days you can experience Ojai’s famous pink moments. You can hike the trails above Ojai, boat, eat, or picnic at Lake Casitas. Travel to nearby Ventura to shop, fish the pier, or take a deep sea fishing charter or Island charter to Whale watch or fish around the Channel Islands.
Please note the aerial view of the camping area recently placed by Hipcamp is NOT AT ALL REPRESENTATIVE of the current camping sites and shows a photo that is many years old when the site was merely land.
That photo is without any of the existing amenities or improvements. The actual sites are all Larger than Federal Park and Statepark guidelines, with averages of 20'x30' for campsites and 20'x40' for a long RVCampsite.
We have planted many young trees and continue to plant trees and native shrubs around and near the sites. We have picnic tables, table coverings, fire pits, and camping rugs/footprints. There is also an outdoor shower, a shower tent with hot water, and an upgraded porta-potty with a sink.
Note: During times when high heat is predicted, we strongly recommend that our Hipcampers bring pop-up shade tents or canopies for their sites.
The Hipcamp is adjacent to our working ranch, and any photos of old sheds, trucks, a wood lot, or other equipment are NOT on the Hipcamp, but you will drive past that property to get to the separate Hipcamp area.
Wineries, Farmer's Markets, Craft Breweries, dispensaries, and more are within 10 to 15 minutes of our site. Our location allows moments when you may see Hawks, Owls, Geese, Swallows, Robins, Bluebirds, and more.
We offer both tent and RV camping.

There were many great 5 star reviews and in the end they were all accurate.
Well kept campsite I didn't even know if any of the other 3 were being used because it was so quiet and private. We arrived just before dark which was a mistake as it would have been nice to settle in with time to spare and enjoy the sunset. Instead we enjoyed waking up to an incredible view.
And perfect directions which helped us find the remote location without an issue. Bravo to the owners.

I'm glad we booked this place. We were worried when we pulled in to the entrance, but once we got to the campground, we were extremely happy. The sites are large, the views are good, the shower is GREAT. Vivian has put thought into the configuration of the sites and it show. Trees and rocks are strategically placed, and as the trees grow, the place will only get better. Communication was good and we enjoyed the area.

My spot was lovely and quiet. Watching the cloud/fog layer creep over the mountain tops in view during sunrises and sunsets was wonderful.
Chris' knowledge of the human and natural history of the area was profound.
If you need a getaway from the city that is close by, this is the place.

Loved this campsite! Easy to get to- had a table, trash can, fire pit, bathroom, and some extras. We had a great view of the mountains and lots of space from other campsites (although we didn't have any neighbors). Highly recommend and we'll be back!

I feel like I never quite know what to expect from photos/ reviews until I see a space in person. I was VERY glad I chose this particular site; it felt more private, shaded, and spacious than the others. There was only one other group present while we were there and they were at the opposite side of the property. If all of the campsites were full, I’d imagine it would feel quite intimate. The road is also right there, which diminishes a bit of the outdoor adventure feeling.
The shower was amazing, the porta potty was absolutely fine in my opinion and the property was clearly well taken care of. We loved nestling under the oak trees and listening to the birds. The property was easy to find, there’s lots nearby, Vivian shared plenty of good information and offered quick responses in communication.
I think if you’re looking for a private outdoor adventure, this isn’t quite it, but it IS everything it’s advertised to be and we had an excellent time.
