The living room has a wood stove and 50" smart HDTV with direct satellite & Blu Ray DVD. A skylight in the living room brings in lots of light. The master bedroom (queen bed) is separate from the downstairs and reached via a spiral staircase leading up to French doors. The master bathroom adjoins the bedroom and has a skylight over the double length tiled shower. A second bedroom downstairs has a murphy bed with a queen size mattress. There is air conditioning in the living room as well as in the upstairs bedroom and 2 fans are provided-- although generally temps are not above 85 degrees on a hot day and generally drop into the 60's in the evening. Upper and lower decks offer lovely views of Mt. Pinos and the San Emigdio range. Relax on the sunny decks or in the Adirondack chair near the pond surrounded by pine trees. Plan to do some bbqing--it is so pleasant to do some grilling on the upper deck bbq and dine outdoors. Our cabin is clean and well-kept. It can comfortably accommodate 4 people. Located in a spectacular mountain setting just 90 miles north of Los Angeles, Pine Mountain Club is a residential community in the Los Padres National Forest. Relax & unwind while surrounded by acres of old forests that shelter an array of flora & fauna, including the rare California Condor. This gambrel cabin was one of the original homes built in PMC in 1976. The 70s vibe is still alive with cork floors, shag rugs, wood paneling, record players, an 8-track player & an orange Malm fireplace. The space Our 1970s chalet-style gambrel cabin is located at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level. Both bedrooms are equipped with organic latex mattresses (queen downstairs, full upstairs) and ROKU smart TVs. There is also a TV with basic cable, a VHS player, and classic video games in the living room downstairs. Upstairs we have a projector for watching movies on a big screen. The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, oven/stove, Nespresso machine with milk frother, blender, waffle maker and fondue pot. We have board games, puzzles, records, 8-track cassettes, VHS tapes, a projector (for VHS or streaming movies), a guitar, keyboard, and a working fireplace. Towels and linens are provided. The washer and dryer cannot be used by guests, but there is a laundromat in the village and another in Frazier Park. Keep in mind this is not a hotel, this is a privately owned cabin in the middle of a National Forest. The water may take a little longer to heat up, the electric heaters might smell a little dusty the first time they are turned on after a long summer, spiders might rebuild their webs less than 24 hours after the space is cleaned, there may be dirt on the outdoor furniture, you might need to wear insect repellant in the summer or shovel the driveway and deck in the winter. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not it, but if you want a fun, comfortable getaway in the mountains, please submit a booking inquiry. You are expected to complete a checkout checklist which includes washing your dishes and putting them away where you found them, making sure all wall heaters are off, etc. Guest access You'll be in walking distance of the PMC Clubhouse which houses a restaurant, bar, recreation room, community swimming pool and hot tub (SUMMER ONLY), tennis courts, and a golf course. If you'd like to use the pool, please send names of all guests so I can register you in advance. There is a fee of $5 per person, per day, for the temporary pool passes to be paid at the pro shop on pickup. We're also close to hiking trails and the village where you'll find the Pine Mountain General Store, Bear Claw Bakery, The Perch, gift shops, and more. During the WINTER months, there is a chance of snow and/or ice on the roads. You will need 4WD/AWD or tire chains on hand. The CA Highway Patrol is often checking cars before allowing access. You may also need to show confirmation of your reservation. We have a snow shovel on the deck in case you need to shovel the driveway or deck. Parking on the street is not allowed. We've had several guests say they grew up on the East coast and know how to drive in snow, only to comment about the curvy, icy road into the forest which is no joke! Even if you are prepared, someone in front of you might not be, so have warm clothes or blankets in the car, a full tank of gas, and some snacks in case you get stuck. Other things to note There is an outdoor security camera on the property. The cabin is not in the middle of nowhere, we have neighbors on all sides. Please be respectful. The wi-fi is pretty reliable but as we are in a rural area, it can be slow and it does go out from time to time. If you absolutely must have internet access guaranteed, this may not be the place for you. No shoes in the house Rules The two overriding rules are 1) Leave the home the way you found it and 2) Respect the privacy and quiet of our neighbors. - NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE - Please do not rearrange the furniture. Use coasters on wood surfaces! Be gentle with everything - most items are vintage. - Basic cleaning up after yourself is expected, including washing your dishes and putting them away. - Trash and recycling must be taken to the transfer site when you check out. - We provide a checkout checklist so you remember to turn all heaters off, lock doors and windows, etc. - Commercial photography/filming is not allowed without permission. Please send details in advance and we will get back to you with the rates for your project. - No outdoor fires of any kind - Quiet hours in PMC are 10pm - 7am - Smoking allowed outside ONLY. Please keep doors and windows closed. If the house smells of smoke after you leave you will lose your deposit to cover the cost of odor removal. Dispose of butts properly - not on the ground. - Pets are not allowed. We had to change our policy after a bad experience. - This is a forest, and bears (and other wildlife) are frequently sighted. No food or trash should be left outside the cabin unattended. All doors and windows need to be closed if you're not in the room. There is an air horn in the downstairs bedroom closet, and whistles near the sliding glass door. If you see a bear, make a lot of noise to scare it away. - Missing items will be deducted from your deposit plus a $50 service fee per item. - NO fireworks or guns of any kind (including BB and paintball) - No parking on the street. If you have a RV please contact me in advance to discuss options. - Any additional guests beyond the number stated in your reservation must be approved in advance. - Your name and contact information will be shared with the Pine Mountain Club Property Owner's Association, in case of emergency or neighbor complaints. - You must provide your email address in advance of your stay. 1 night at The Hideout - 100+ Acres Oak Trees

Sarah was a very gracious hostess. I was dry camping with a four-wheel pop up camper and thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the field next to the barn. The area was very serene quiet and had clean porta potty. Would love to explore the large property on a multi-day stay but couldn't this time as I'm driving through. Cell phone coverage may be spotty but Starlink Mini kept me at full communication. Four wheel drive may be necessary depending on Road conditions seasonal. Tip to finding her driveway: when traveling up Pine Cyn Road look for Seccombe Rd and her driveway is there (opposite direction)

Weekend Trip to Sanctuary Cielo

I could not recommend Sanctuary Cielo more!! I was joined by my Honey and our 2 pups and we were all welcomed to sanctuary cielo with open arms. The site is huge with a gas pire pit, a gas bbq, compost toilet (with TP and wet wipes!) lounge chairs, sofas, tables, a huge picnic table, mini fridge, more appliances than I could name (we took advantage of the electric kettle for tea). Decorated so tastefully and comfortably, it felt like an outdoor home in the best way. Everything you could need was thought of down to the tiny details! Amber and Gregory were so hospitable the entire time but they really went out of their way when the weather was planning on getting quite wet and invited us to stay indoors in their very comfortable loft. The hot tub is indeed a MUST! there's a warm outdoor shower to freshen up afterwards (nice big towels included). And we were warmly greeted on Valentine's morning with fresh home made blueberry and banana muffins! She had set out heart shaped plates and decor for us to make our Valentine's weekend extra special. This land is already magical but Amber transformed it into such an amazing outdoor space, we were already planning on coming back before our first sleep haha. Her land also has fun trails to explore, which we all enjoyed, but especially the puppies.

I loved the experience me and my boyfriend had camping here; hearing the birds at night was so unique!! We did the archery, ax throwing, and the tour! Highly recommend. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make this an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful spot with a little creek running thru the property. Lots of nature with birds and frogs singing. Close to a cafe and a restaurant and not too far from shopping, laundry etc. A great getaway.

Lovely stay! I really enjoyed learning more about the ostriches during the tour. Lou was very informative. I also went home with some of the ostrich oil heat cream. It’s listed in the breakdown as $20 but I was charged $25.. just something to be mindful of. But all in all loved the experience and would stay again!

I had no issues with my stay Jessica was very quick to respond, left plenty of information for me to find the property/entrance/site. I was bikepacking so It was just my bike & tent. Ground was soft and flat. Area was quite. Price is good Bathroom with flush toilet You can see some Big Ole' Birds 10/10 would bird again.

I had an absolutely wonderful and truly unique experience at Josh & Jessica’s Tent Camp @ Working Ostrich Ranch! From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel right at home. They were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, offering clear instructions and being very accessible throughout my stay. Their attention to detail really showed, especially in how they prioritize the safety of the magnificent ostriches—this is definitely not a petting zoo! It's a real, working ranch, and the rules in the description are there to keep both guests and animals safe. The elder rancher is a fountain of knowledge—his stories and insights were fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. It was clear that he has a deep respect and understanding of the land and animals. My campsite was tucked away in a peaceful corner by the archery range—an ideal spot for stargazing under the open sky and listening to the enchanting sounds of the surrounding wildlife. I loved the rustic charm of the site, which offered a sense of solitude while still feeling completely safe and well-maintained. I’m already planning to return for a longer stay next time. I’d love to take the ranch tour and maybe even try an archery lesson! If you're looking for a memorable and peaceful camping experience at an authentic working farm, I highly recommend this spot. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind HipCamp.

Plenty of space, larger campers may have slight difficulty with the access to this spot. But absolutely worth it! So private and safe!

We had a lovely time at Sanctuary Cielo. A peaceful setting with ample amenities. There are nice walking trails around the property that we enjoyed exploring with our two year old son. The campsite is in view of the house but there’s a privacy screen to keep things feeling private. Amber the host was warm and inviting but never intrusive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something close to Santa Barbara!

A very affordable and accessible tent spot that was great for a night. The real unbeatable experience was meeting the ostriches, which I highly recommend- they’re otherworldly. Lou was also welcoming, informative, and a great dude. I’ll be back around the ranch again someday.
