Breathe deep in nature on our 10-acre property on Kings Mountain, California hillside. Our generously sized Safari-style tents offer a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Each tent has beds, down comforters, crisp cotton linens, lights, and more. Outdoor and indoor furniture and little touches that will make your stay unique. The property is located 30min from SFO, 40min from San Francisco, 30min from Palo Alto, 20 min from Half Moon Bay. Each tent is perched on a sturdy wooden platform and features a fully furnished deck, providing a cozy space to relax and soak in the breathtaking ocean (Half Moon Bay views) and forest views (Kings Mountain). All tents include a mini fridge and a stove, ideal for light cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during cool days. We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light. Our campsite is nestled within the same property as our charming little farm. Our goats roam the land all day and may visit you for pets and nuzzles. They are gentle, but please do not feed or let them inside the tent. Recharge from the day with a hot shower. Grab your fresh towels from your tent and go to your outdoor allocated bathhouses, where you’ll find an indoor shower and well-appointed restrooms. They are nicely lit and stocked with bath products. A sink area is available for dish clean-up, and a bbq/picnic area. KM is famous for its hiking and biking trails nestled amongst the redwoods. The closest is a 15-minute walk from our campsite, and others are within a 15-minute car ride. Tent 01 (180sqft) accommodates 3 people in a queen-size bed and a daybed. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours. There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events. Both our treehouse and yurt listings are unique experiences. They both are adjacent to the Tierra Madre Vineyard Block and have awesome views of the entire Monterey Bay/Pacific Ocean. We are located on 44 acres high atop the Santa Cruz Mountains but close to all the major beaches and Silicon Valley. Please be aware this is camping in nature, along with squirrels, spiders, falling leaves, etc. and nature is not always for everyone. There is a 45ft. ladder to climb to get into the treehouse. The view at sunset is spectacular. Featured on the first page of top Glamping destinations in California, in National Geographic's 50 States, 500 campgrounds. Both sites include a trunk of goodies: Complimentary trunk of goodies that is filled with muffins, mugs, creamer, sugar, coffee, croissants, cards, champagne & wine glasses & wine opener! We acquired the property in 1991, shortly after the Lexington Fire (1985) and Loma Prieta earthquake (1989). At that time, the entire property has degenerated into disrepair, and all the vineyards had been overwhelmed by the wilderness. In 2011, we started the herculean effort of clearing away the wilderness, resurrecting all the vineyards and renovating our home. In 2014, we started replanting the vineyards, and opened our tree house to visitors in 2015. Just like us, I think you will fall in love with this property, and enjoy every minute of your time here. A home away from home, this hidden little gem is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the cities. Still located conveniently close to businesses of all kinds, including multiple downtown areas, HWY 17 and 85, 1 mile from Netflix. We are constantly working on our cottage style gardens, so there will always be gardens to enjoy for you. If you are interested in trying any of our homegrown veggies or fruits, just let us know. We love sharing our bounty. :) The space An actual hidden cottage tucked into a space full of vegetable and flower gardens. A six-chicken coop also runs the length of one side of the yard. There's also a private patio area to relax and unwind. The cottage is cute and simple, with an attic-like staircase leading to the upstairs bedroom. Enjoy your privacy in this unique and quaint space. P.S. This space may not be the best suited for elderly, disabled, or very young guests. Guest access The entire cottage is all yours, with a private entryway. We have an open patio area just outside the cottage with outdoor seating and tables. There is also a charcoal barbecue available upon request, as the hosts may be using it. It is a great spot to sit and unwind while watching and listening to the chickens, watching the sun set, and gazing. The garden area is shared with the hosts. Other things to note You, as our guest, always have privacy in the indoors of your space. The outside areas are mostly shared between my family, pets, and our guests, but the outdoor patio is all yours(we only access this when guests are present if we need to do some yard work). Enjoy yourselves, and be wary of doggies when pulling in the driveway! It is an in-laws quarters type house and shares one wall with the main house of the property. The door that connects the homes is completely sealed off and inaccessible to both parties. Please keep in mind that this is not a space suitable for very young, disabled, or elderly guests, due to the attic-like staircase mentioned above.

We had such a fun stay at the Room with a View of a Ewe! Kim the host was extremely welcoming and friendly - she showed us around the farm and we got to feed the chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, bunnies, and alpacas. It was a hit with our toddler. I had a wonderful stay here. The silence, stars, multitude of birds (including Sandhill Cranes!), water, and joyful farm animals were restorative for my soul. The rustic and charming cabin was delightful with a window view of splendid sunsets, cool art and stylistic decor, an efficient heater, and a spacious bathtub. What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

Loved everything about Sana and William’s - we were greeted by Meowsicle the cat upon our arrival, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the forest and ocean views straight from our tent, and ate farm fresh eggs every morning! We also loved being visited by the friendly goats (who loved chin scratches). Sana and William were both very friendly and helpful whenever we needed them. I would absolutely stay here again.

Everything at the yurt was so wonderful! We loved our spot under the trees (the other one was more out in the open so we chose well!). While we had initially thought about taking some day trips, we literally stayed all 3 days at the yurt and the grounds--feeding the fish and chickens and geese, walking around, sitting in the tub, etc. John was friendly and kind and would check in on if we needed anything restocked. (The Peppermint Bark liqueur was a favorite!) A fully stocked bar was really special, as was the view, and the feeling that we could wander and explore. A great sister trip to be sure and we will definitely, definitely be returning.

We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light. Our campsite is nestled within the same property as our charming little farm. Our goats roam the land all day and may visit you for pets and nuzzles. They are gentle, but please do not feed or let them inside the tent. Recharge from the day with a hot shower. Grab your fresh towels from your tent and go to your outdoor allocated bathhouses, where you’ll find an indoor shower and well-appointed restrooms. They are nicely lit and stocked with bath products. A sink area is available for dish clean-up, and a bbq/picnic area. KM is famous for its hiking and biking trails nestled amongst the redwoods. The closest is a 15-minute walk from our campsite, and others are within a 15-minute car ride. Tent 01 (180sqft) accommodates 3 people in a queen-size bed and a daybed. The Rainbow Junction offers a unique camping experience at the intersection of Mines Road and HWY 130 in the San Antonio Valley. We operate a restaurant and we offer camping friendly meals for guests. We love the wildness of this property and do not allow cars or vehicles beyond the parking lot. All of our sites are hike in sites. It's about a 1/4 mile hike on a small foot path. We have a wagon available for guests to use and we are happy to help you carry your things. We host a communal fire pit in the evenings, weather permitting, for all guests to enjoy, we do not allow open fires on the property. Cal Fire has requested that all campers get a permit, even to operate a gas stove. The permit is free and takes just a few minutes. https://permit.preventwildfiresca.org/ Please pack your trash, food scraps can be place in our compost but please be prepared to take all other items with you when you leave. Our swimming pond is about a 3/4 mile hike through brush from the restaurant but is a great way to beat the heat during the day! Campsites have a picnic table. A dry toilet is a short walk from campsites and we equip sites with a water dispenser and a sealed container for trash. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours. There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events. Campers, trailers, RVs and Vans are welcome to stay in our lot but we currently do not have hookups available. Have a large group? We are happy to reserve group sites.
