A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River. Guest access: The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house. River access: If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed). Come and enjoy the views of the river, forest, and wildlife! This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. You may rarely see other guests during your stay. Check out is at 12pm. If you or anyone in your party stays past 12:30pm you will be charged for an extra night for your full party. Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. All of the proceeds from Hipcamp are used to support the animals. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 6 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces once a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting around Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Our family of 4 humans, two dogs, and one guinea pig lived in Coco while our house was being built. It was quite an adventure! Coco is nestled in the foothills of the Sierras on our semi-private 4-acre property. Easy access to Grass Valley, Nevada City, and the Yuba River. The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Enjoy the smell of cedar, chlorine free waters under the stars. Enjoy and hopefully you come and experience the Magic we have made Stewarding these acres. PLEASE come check in before DARK. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. We have pathways and lights to guide, but there is a DESIGNATED parking zone and a cart available to carry your stuff to your CAMPSITE. This magical and private Yurt in the woods are just 2 miles from Nevada City Come experience the Beauty of the Sierra Foothills and the Yuba River in our Yurts tucked into the forest just 2 miles from downtown Nevada City. With a natural creek right outside your door and hiking trails right off the deck, this serene and beautiful yurt retreat awaits you. Nevada City is renowned for its excellent food, shopping, nightlife and farmer’s market. A leisurely walk into town takes 45 mins, bike in 15 or drive in 5. Grass Valley is 10 minutes away as well and has more food, shopping, and entertainment for you. Access to the Yuba River is as close as 20 mins to Edwards Crossing and 20 mins to Hoyts Crossing on Highway 49. We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot.  Things you might like to bring: headlamps,  robe,  flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest. Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season. We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. This is part of the country charm and should be expected. Please don't leave food outside.  Land acknowledgment: We acknowledge that our property is located on unceeded land. It is the traditional homeland of the Nisenan tribe. The Nisenan tribe is alive and active and continues to fight for federal recognition and compensation for land loss. Weekend Trip to Peace in the Pines

Peace at the pines was the perfect romantic getaway for our 8th anniversary. Renee was a gracious & thoughtful host, surprising us with a gift upon our arrival. She took the time to give us a tour and offer anything we needed which was nothing be she thought of everything and had already provided it. The camp was beautiful, clean and peaceful, living up to its name in every way. Whether it was sipping coffee as the sun came up over the trees or relaxing in the swing on-top of the ridge behind the camp as the sun went down, the entire weekend was filled with memorable moments that we will cherish forever. Thank you so much!!!

Peace in the pines is a fun trailer close to nevada city. Though I didn't spend too much time on the land itself, it was comfortable and renee was very accomadating. She made me and my partner feel very welcomed, and sugested a hike that ended up being the main part of the trip. Highly recomend this place.

Weekend Trip to Foothills Yurt Glamping

Beautiful place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Hot tub worked well and was so relaxing. The lake was gorgeous and only 10 minute drive away. We had such a relaxing weekend!!! Came here to celebrate my birthday and we want to make it an annual trip now. My friends said the futon was very comfortable. Plenty of extra blankets to use as well.

Weekend Trip to Private Yurts - Nevada City

We had a great time nestled in the cool and very private woods on Nathan's property. The site had far more amenities than we originally thought, including both an indoor and outdoor shower, seasoned firewood that could be purchased onsite, hidden pathways to creekside seating, and a secret spot outfitted with double hammocks. They've put a lot of care into landscaping the communal areas in a way that feels curated, but looks natural. We cooked up a storm and started and ended our days with the sounds of trickling streams - the only difficult thing was deciding which fire source to light each night! Will definitely come back with friends to rent both the East Yurt and West Yurt together. Just note that there is 1 onsite parking spot per yurt, so come in the same vehicle as the person you'll be staying with.

Weekend Trip to Peace in the Pines

This place is truly a gem, and Renée is a fantastic host! The trailer is equipped with everything you could need, and we were welcomed with a gorgeous bouquet of wildflowers picked from Renée’s garden, along with a thoughtful selection of refreshments. The property is only five minutes from Nevada City, yet it feels completely peaceful and immersed in nature. During our stay, we saw deer, rabbits, frogs, quails, and were serenaded all day by a wide variety of birds. To top it all off, the wildflowers were in full bloom, and we loved relaxing on the swing above the property while taking in the beautiful views surrounded by flowers. We already miss our weekend there and are looking forward to coming back!

We loved our stay at Om Sweet Om farm. We stayed for 3 nights and Justin was really welcoming and friendly. Their dogs are all super friendly and love to be pet. We also were able to go and visit with their goats and other animals. I'd love to stay here again if we're back in the area!

We had a wonderful stay and left feeling relaxed and refreshed. The property is peaceful, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy nature. We especially appreciated how close it was to both Nevada City and the Yuba River, which made it easy to enjoy, local charm, and time by the water. The host was warm and accommodating, and we would absolutely return.

Went with my 5 year old son and dog. It was such a fun place! I wish we had stayed for longer. The hosts were great and there were a lot of amenities that we didn’t expect. Beautiful outdoor kitchen, toilets, and lots of tables and chairs for lounging. The tents are close to one another but worked fine with us. Folks seemed courteous. I will definitely book again!

We loved our stay in the Stargazer yurt-- very cozy and comfortable -- the propane heater kept us toasty! The land itself is incredible, covered in swaying grasses and wildflowers in mid-May, a treasure to experience. The stars at night were clear and bright.
