We stayed at Macala Orchards in the Elderberry campground and had a fantastic experience. The site was clean, spacious, and well-maintained—perfect for our group of nine, with plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The newly built shower, sink, and toilet outhouse were spotless and thoughtfully designed, and the ground well faucet was a nice touch for easy access to water. We were warmly greeted by David, who was an excellent host. He answered all our questions, both in person and via text, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The location strikes a great balance: it’s secluded enough to feel like a true getaway, yet only about 15 minutes from supermarkets and restaurants. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, private campground with great amenities and a welcoming host!

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain

I loved this site and highly recommend! It was the perfect mix of comfort and nature for an easy getaway from the city. There's lots of options for things to do around the are. I went for a hike, found a fun thrift store, and stopped by old town Temecula on my way out. Ken was an amazing host, his site is so thoughtfully designed and equipped. Will definitely stay again!

Great stay at the Flat Rock camp location! The creek down below was making relaxing creek sounds all night. I slept like a rock. I was here solo, looking for a night away from the city. This is the perfect place for some quiet stargazing. Carlotta is an amazingly informative and welcoming host. I recommend bringing a high clearance vehicle coming here because that's what the road calls for. I borrowed my fiance's lifted F150. He just showed me how to drive it the day before and I made it down the switchbacks to the camp location. The 1.5mi drive down was an adventure on its own; for me at least. The truck made the journey down an easy breeze. I couldn't recommend this location more. As a San Diego local, this place will definitely become a regular spot for me. Thank you!

Weekend Trip to King Creek Campground

We loved our camping trip! Went with a group of friends and stayed over Memorial Weekend at Lake Campsite. Had plenty of space for tents, parking, and activities— including lots of shady areas. Bathroom was a pit toilet, well kept and clean. Water was provided in a 5-gal jug (could go up to house to get more) so recommend bringing some extra. Wifi only at the main house, we had 0 service at the site. There was water in the Creek, definitely not enough to swim and we weren’t able to find an area to hangout down by the Creek. Beautiful areas to hike, hosts were super nice and helpful. Would also add that a heavy SUV struggles to get up the driveway, so be mindful of that with car choices. 10/10 would stay again!

Frank was an incredible host! He set us up for success from the moment we booked until the end when we were leaving! Helped with directions, gave us detailed instructions and had an awesome set up at his site! Frank was so kind and welcoming we cannot thank him enough!

I loved Tent Camping on Franks land! He was a wonderful host, and he took care of us to make sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for somewhere that is full of nature and a getaway from the busy life, this is the perfect spot and the best host.

Weekend Trip to Villa Macala

We absolutely loved this place—especially Site 4! It felt more private than the others, with plenty of shade from the giant trees and a refreshing breeze coming through the canyon, which made it perfect for summer. Our site had two benches, two fire pits, and even a charming little sitting area on the other side with a lovely view—great for eating or painting! Everything about our stay was wonderful. The location is ideal—just 20 minutes from Temecula and 10 minutes from Hemet. The host, David, was amazing! He gave us a little tour on our second day, which made us appreciate the place even more. The property is full of beautiful pomegranate and olive trees—it’s so natural and peaceful. The bathroom was a big bonus: clean, spacious, and very convenient to have on-site. We truly had a fantastic experience and would absolutely come back!

We loved everything about our stay at the hilltop lodge. Great views, so relaxing and peaceful and lots of helpful amenities to make it easy and comfortable. Bed was very cozy for a full nights rest. We will definitely come back again.

Seems strange to describe camping as “cute” but honestly, this cabin and surrounding accommodation truly was the cutest. The entire stay was perfection. From a super communicative and above and beyond host, Ken, to the amazing design and functionality of the cabin from entry door back to the shower/compostable toilet to the kitchen and picnic table with market lights. It has everything you need and it’s super clean. The stars at night were beautiful and best of all, my pup had the time of her life. Would highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain

Awesome glamp site with a great view. This is one of the first I've stayed at where the pictures are what's actually there. The old school outhouse was fun for me and the shower was very comfortable. The host made regular contact and left some great recommendations for the local area. Im glad I took opportunity of that instead of guessing what's good in the area.

3 nights at King Creek Campground

Carlotta and her husband were great hosts and their land was beautiful. We stayed at campsite #4 - Flat Rock, near the creek. It was so relaxing being able to hear the running water from our tent. Each campsite also has an outhouse which came in handy. I would 100% recommend this campground for all campers. P.S. Believe them when they say you’ll need a truck or SUV to get through the dirt roads. It was quite an adventure getting to our space!

We had an incredible stay and can’t say enough good things about our experience. Carlotta, the host, was absolutely fantastic—punctual, super helpful, and full of great local tips. She gave us a map and recommended some beautiful hikes nearby, which we really appreciated. The campsite itself was everything we hoped for and more: private, peaceful, and surrounded by lush greenery. The shade from the trees made it extra comfortable during the day. We were a group of 19 people, including kids, and there was more than enough space for everyone—plenty of room for tents, a food area, and even a dedicated space for the kids to play. Everyone had a great time, and we’re so happy with the whole experience that we’re already planning to come back soon. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The "Camp-Sight"

Hidden gem 30 minutes from Temecula wineries. Cheri was amazing. She may want to advertise how great her location is. Clear night skies and plenty of space for our dogs. There was even a small outdoor kennel which was nice to have when we wanted to pack up and let the dogs chill. Cheri was there when we arrived and showed us how everything works. The RV is super clean. Couches were super comfortable. And the generator ensured we had lights and a radio. The radio has speakers inside and outside. This was a nice touch as we cooked on the bbq. There’s a generator. Being your own gas, but there was some when we arrived. It holds 5 gallons. We probably used 1.5 g per night. - heads up it’s not clamping. There are things in the RV that don’t worrk, fridge. But they are minor. To save water you must flip a switch outside before using. Again, not a big deal. We also pitched a second tent for our group. Plenty of space. In the morning we played frisbee and horseshoes. I hope to be back again soon.

Great little spot. Super close to town. Definitely need legit 4x4. It was pretty steep and a little rutted heading out. Kinda steep on foot. No prob with a 4x4. Didn’t love that I could hear the highway from the camp but other than that it was great.

King Creek Campground

Mild seasonal temperature swings, fresh air, clear evening skies for star gazing, the property is in a valley surrounded by the Cleveland National Forest and it was formally used as a 1950's Boys Scouts of America campsite. Our Mom purchased the family property over 40 years ago, and my siblings and I grew-up with weekend trips exploring and camping on the property. With love and respect that all that Mother Nature designs be left wild and free, the more than 100 acres is dispersed with groves of old oak trees, mountains are covered in chaparral and manzanita shrubbery, and seasonal waterfalls, streams, a lake with a dam, dirt roads, and hiking trails. Our family's wish is to share our little bit of heaven on earth property with others who will love it as we do. Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

Our property sits on top of a hill on 10 acres of beautiful panoramic views of Cahuilla and, Palomar mountain along with rolling hills of large rock formation and colorful wildflowers in the spring. Nestled up to the wildlife preserve of the government bureau of land management which provides more of a quiet and private setting to enjoy what nature has to offer. You will see Jack rabbits and cotton tail bunnies, roadrunners, quail, owls, different type of birds, hawks, coyote, lizards, snakes and even some toads. On occasion you may see deer, Bob cats, mountain lion along with endangered kangaroo mice, The beautiful night sky is easy to see planets and shooting stars without the interruption of city lights. There are many trails to walk, hike, bike and horse back ride where you can discover large boulders in different shapes and sizes along with hidden caves. A variety of rocks and minerals can be found for those rock hound enthusiasts as well. At the camp site you will find a horseshoe pit ,indoor and outdoor games and treasure hunts for everyone to enjoy. If you want to bring your own set of golf clubs you can even hit some balls! Pets and horses are welcome. We provide Two horse corrals with feed buckets and access to water. There is a outdoor dog kennel. There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt. Not to far there is a Casino, small store and a restaurant and about 30 minutes away from the Temecula wineries. You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV big enough for 6 people if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). and has indoor and outdoor lights and electrical outlets to plug in a fan or your phone and, there is a microwave to use. We have a cooler for you to use bur you will need to provide your own ice. There are dishes and utensils and a toilet. and water in and outside (You will need to bring your own blankets, sleeping bags and towels). Also provided arepropane b.b.q, propane fire ring, outdoor bench, table and camp chairs. There is enough room on this property to bring your own camper, RV or tent or ? but it must be self contained. There is no electric, water or waste hook up. If you are just looking for a place to set up your own tent, I will consider the cost to be lower. Please contact me if you may have any questions.
