Weekend Trip to Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden

Such an amazing stay and I’m honestly blown away by how much there was to see and do! From unique sculptures tucked into the landscape to beautiful pottery displays, every corner had something special to discover. The summer concert series was such a fun touch — great vibes and great music. They have an organic vineyard on site! But the real standout for me was the walk with Michel. He was incredibly informative, passionate, and brought the entire space to life with his stories and knowledge. Easily my favorite part of the entire trip! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a camping experience that’s full of character, creativity, and connection.

Michel's camp was absolutely sensational! We opted in for the concert, food truck and yummy yummy rhubarb strawberry pie ala mode! Wow! Magical evening and artistic sculptures all around! We will certainly return!

Weekend Trip to Glitter Cove Retreat

There is so much to say about this site, however I doubt I'll be able to think of it all into words. For starters, the host Cindy and her husband are so welcoming, kind, and quick with communication which made it so easy to settle in. They have a very well maintained and beautiful dirt road leading to the camp site, but do go slow. The views from the pergola were absolutely STUNNING, we couldn't help but unwind out surrounded by nature enjoying the birds singing and the gentle sounds from the river. The pergola itself was absolutely gorgeous, they truly thought of everything to make this the most amazing retreat from busy day to day life! This wasn't just an amazing get away for the adults either, the kids had an absolute BLAST playing in the river, gold panning, exploring and more. I do suggest bringing water shoes if you're planning on going up the river as there are sharp rocks and definitely don't forget sunscreen! This truly couldn't have been a better getaway for us all, we are definitely coming back and I'll be recommending it to anyone who will listen!

This is a special place. There are not many of these left in California that aren’t covered in trash and graffiti. Please treat it like it’s your parents backyard so the owners of this property will continue to allow a limited amount of people here to enjoy one for the greatest swimming holes and campsites in the region. This shaded piece of paradise has trout in the river, frogs on the river bank, and deer throughout the property. It’s incredibly scenic and peaceful. On a weekday you are likely to be the only one here. It’s truly amazing. The water is so clear you can snorkel in the swimming hole. Check out the gold mine right below site 2 and if you’re the adventurous type ask the owner and he will direct you to all kinds of interesting hikes up and down the river.

It was amazing. Terry was super nice and knowledgeable, took time to explain the area and its history to us. We loved campsite 2, perfect amount of shade with easy access to the river and the mine. Will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful property! The camp sites, the swimming hole, the old gold mine, the creek and the swimming hole are all great. Highly recommend a visit here, I will definitely be going back! Be sure to bring your head lamp and shoes you don’t mind getting muddy for the gold mine!

Terry’s ranch was beautiful! It was such a peaceful place to camp- the sounds of the river at night were great to fall asleep to. The river itself was so nice to float on and spend the day by the beach. Will definitely be going back!

The fact that we were alone and our dogs were able to run free made it all worthwhile. The best time we had in a long time.

Absolutely great time at strange ranch! The property itself feels very private and relaxing with beautiful views and a great river to swim and explore. All the campsites we saw were very clean and well maintained. Terry does an amazing job communicating and really provided a lot of great information before we even arrived. We stayed at site #1 right above the river. You can expect great views, a picnic table, metal fire pit, wash basin with faucet, hose, portable toilet, and a short walk down the stairs to the river. Terry told us before arriving how sunny our site would be so we brought a 10x10 pop up canopy and we were good to go!

2 nights at Glitter Cove Retreat

This was the perfect getaway. We were two couples with 5 kids under the age of 8. We did have a tent as well but it was so much more than we ever expected. Cindy is really great at communicating in a timely manner and keeps the place fully stocked of all the essentials. We door dashed ice one day too, no issues. The boys fished and caught tadpoles. You’re just steps from the river. Her place is super clean and off grid. Can’t wait to come back!!

1 night at Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden

We loved to stay here. We initially booked for 3 night but after the first night we quickly booked one more.. The sites are very nice, there is a really cool vibe. All the people we met on the property were super friendly. Our host welkomed us, showed us the property and gave us tipes about the area. We were also lucky that we could visit a concert that was somewhere on the property. The art is really cool and sunsets are amazing. We hope to be back for sure

Another amazing trip to Sierra Circles, our go-to camp spot. Site 3 is nice and shady which was appreciated this trip with the warmed weather. We enjoyed the concert on Saturday night - so fun. Already looking forward to our next trip!

Camping on Terry’s property was an excellent experience for my two friends and I. We highly recommend the aquatic invertebrate experience - Terry is extremely knowledgeable and it was so fun! We hope to be coming back to this beautiful land sooner rather than later! Very safe and peaceful.

Honestly everybody was great. Sites were clean and private. Bring lots of ice. They have a small convenience store and are continuing improvements on the property. A hidden gem!! Highly recommend and my dog was able to be free and enjoy himself. Loved it

The site boasts incredible views with a pristine private gold-bearing trout stream with mining history and wildlife preserve located in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada foothills of northern Calaveras County. This unique property is adjacent to over 900 acres of public land and 2 miles of private stream for exploring. With a total of only 4 campsites, it is a great location for a group to reserve the entire campground. All campsites have potable well water spigots and access to a cold/cool water shower. Guests will enjoy the privacy while swimming, stream exploring, hiking, spelunking, forest immersion, fishing for wild trout, gold panning, or simply relaxing in a breathtaking environment – come fall in love with this special private ranch. After one stay, you will be a repeat guest. PLEASE NOTE: An All-Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive vehicle is needed to access campsites 1 through 3 due to the road incline and rock and gravel road surface. Campsite 4 is accessible with a 2-wd vehicle, and has both potable well water and power. All sites have beautiful open views of the property and river canyon with natural shade in the morning and late afternoon. Sounds of the river will lull you to sleep. Although partially shaded, please plan to provide your own portable shade structure(s) during late morning and afternoon as the direct sun can be an inconvenience. The Stranges are professional fish and wildlife biologists and have decided to share this special place for others to enjoy. The property hosts a diversity of plant and wildlife species that might be observed during your stay. Prehistoric and historic cultural resources can be observed along the river corridor. Please be aware that some wildlife species including rattlesnakes, bears, and mountain lions have been observed on the 117-acre property and could potentially be observed near the campsites. The Ranch's northern portion of the property supports a leased farming operation. No portions of the farming operations interfere with camping operations. Day trips are possible to Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, local caverns and wine tasting, and historic gold towns.

Horses were fed, watered and swapped here, over 100 years ago. Today, Brice station hosts a ceramics gallery and school, vineyard and tasting room, Blacksmith school, Concert series, Shakespeare performances and Master artist, Michel Olson's, Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden and campground. Born in Berlin, Germany, he has spent much of his life performing, guiding, studying, while travelling and becoming an accomplished artist in wood, stone and iron. Two of his gypsy rigs and several large art installations, are in the meadow next to the forested 6 site campground. Installation include, 100 ft sacred circle, yin/yang, sun dial and calendar.
