Weekend Trip to Camp Stoney Meadows

This is a must travel to and camp spot!!! It's such an incredible campground and ranch located right by an amazing stretch of Kosk Creek! Campsites have everything you need and there's plenty of cooking utensils, water and other resources in the communal kitchen area. Every time I visit I feel the healing power of the land, creek and forest enabling me to truly restore and rejuvenate. Nora & Scott have the friendliest dogs who gracefully roam the ranch and will even escort you over to the pond or a Kosk Creek swimming hole. I highly recommend this spot to any camper and traveler!

This was our third visit to Camp Stoney Meadows. We've never being disappointed. Nora and Scott are super hosts. We love our hikes around the ranch and a dip in the cool refreshing river. Our cabin and the facilities were clean and well maintained. We'll be back

We absolutely loved this campsite! It was beautiful and clean and had a ton of amenities. I appreciated how many different sleeping/camping accommodations it offered, from basic campsites, to yurts and cabins. The location was also very convenient to Lassen National Park which was a big plus for us!

So nice to have a bed and shower at the end of the day even if it’s cold a shower. Place was much bigger than expected, very clean and the bed super comfortable.

If you’ve ever trekked the Camino de Santiago, traversed the Pacific Crest Trail, or wandered through the Appalachian wilderness, you’ll understand what I mean when I say Stoney Meadows is more than a place—it’s a feeling, a community, and a refuge at the end of your day. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Alex, the foreman. His kindness and helpful guidance made settling in effortless, which was especially appreciated after a ten-hour drive. Throughout my brief stay, I often saw him working alongside his children, teaching them the value of their home and instilling a deep respect for the land and its people. The property itself is built with clear intention. From the placement of fire pits that provide privacy without isolation, to the welcoming communal spaces that encourage gatherings, everything about Stoney Meadows fosters a natural flow of interaction and tranquility. Scattered patches of wildflowers add delicate bursts of color along the trails, contrasting beautifully with the variety of trees that offer shade and shelter. The natural hot springs provide a relaxing way to unwind. The ever-present river outside my bunkhouse added another layer of serenity, its rhythmic sounds creating a perfect backdrop for rest. While I didn’t have the opportunity to meet the owners, as they were out of the area during my stay, they were highly responsive to my email inquiries prior to my trip, offering clear and timely communication that made planning easy.

Highly recommended! 15-20 min drive away from lassen volcanic national park. Everything you would need is available in the cabin. Very peaceful area.

We absolutely loved Lisa's little cabin. It is well kept & has all the little amenities you may need including ear plugs for the near by train, toiletries, games, and even a heated mattress pad that my husband and I feel in love with.... so much that we even bought a pad for ours back home! Really nice hardwood floors, electric fireplace and internet made the stay warm & cozy. We loved the weather, local hikes & restaurants too! Pizza Factory & Yaks are must eats. We will definitely be making this our annual anniversary spot. ❤️

Our 120 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek. We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED! PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here. Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us. The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.
