Afternoon breezes while red tailed hawks ride the thermals, and woodpeckers work on their treasure hoarde. Spot the breeding pair of Bald Eagles who swoop down almost low enough to touch!

This is a great place to get away and come camp here in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a perfect location for tent camping or come park your trailer or Motorhome/Bus. We have great hiking in the near area and 5 miles away there is great mountain biking trails. A world renoun mountain bike spot with intermediate to experienced trails for riders of all levels. 5 miles down the road as well is buzzard lagoon and is a great Dirt biking/4-wheeling location. It is a fun spot for all off road inthusiast!
Your camping site is on a flat plateu and is an ideal spot to park your trailer, motorhome or tent camp. With Complete privacy with views of the pacific ocean and South county's Monterey bay with a 180 degree view as well as San jose and Morgan Hill.
For the wine inthusiast, Loma Prieta winery is 5.5 miles away along with Windy Oaks Winery that is 3.7 miles away that is located on the "Wine trail" that has alots of winerys to offer in a beautiful location.
A Day of fun for the family at Gilroy Gardens that is 15.5 miles away.
The beach is 30-40 minutes away with great surfing and body boarding up and down the coastline.

Beautiful, quiet, and everything we wanted. Just a quick getaway for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Fire pit was so nice! The road in is not for amateurs, and rain made it exciting, but once we got to the gate, it was everything and more. Very cozy. Thank you.

This is the sort of tucked-away spot you'd hope to find when you're boondocking somewhere. Totally quiet, just you and the trees.
Great communication from host and directions to the site were right on the money.
We camped there in our 25' RV - I sure wouldn't take anything bigger up that road and driveway. It is winding and barely wide enough to pass in many spots.
No cell service and Starlink wasn't stable because of the heavy canopy.

We had a great time at the Skid Camp site. Very private within the trees with beautiful view of the stars. The road is a bit tricky getting in, but perfectly manageable with a higher car. We saw a couple wild pigs on our way in and out as well!

We had an awesome time at camp rewilding !
We had booked skid camp but unfortunately high clearance 4x4 was needed. My suv was too low for my comfort to keep going ! Haha but we messaged Jessica and she accommodated us with out any questions. Cams place was a nice spot with plenty of space for our family, our pup was able to run around and had the time of his life. We would definitely recommend. Jessica is a great host, we can’t wait to go back !

Beautiful view at sunrise. Whether you come up from the Los Gatos or the Morgan Hill/Gilroy side, it will go off road but you just have to take it slow and the average car would do just fine. Great spot tho, perfect space for tent camping.

Skid camp was a perfect spot for off the beaten path, for a quiet night.
It’s located very close to Madonna County Park that offers amazing hiking as well as other activities. There is a small fire ring and bench made out of logs. We were able to gather fire wood easily. No bells and whistles, just a freshly skidded road with a campable landing. Recommend 4x4 for much easier access—the drive out off the mountain in the morning was truly beautiful.

My partner and I loved camping at skid camp! Beautiful forest, super secluded — we did not see a single person, from the time we pulled off the county road a couple miles away from the site to the time we pulled back on. A little hard to find, but Jessica was very responsive and helpful. My car loved the off-roading required to get to the campsite. We saw wild pigs when we left!

Super easy to find, the road was not terrible coming in from 17. Little chalkboard sign on the left “Panoramic View”. Absolutely great spot! Great view of Monterey Bay and the town below. Walk across the site and you’re looking at the South end of San Jose. Beware of thorns and mind the dust.

Overall, everything was as described and expected. Communication with the owner was excellent. The final few miles of the off-road access to the campsite in a 2WD car were a bit bumpy, but in my oppinion manageable with careful driving. We had the spot to ourselves. The campsite offers plenty of shade well into the afternoon, essential this time of the year. The toilet is convenient. The rooster's early morning crowing encourages us to get up early. All in all, a great spot.

Amazing stay! The owners of the land were so kind and helpful. When we had trouble finding the site, they called and walked us through how to get there. When we realized we didn’t bring enough bug spray, they sent up a whole care package of various repellants, sprays, and candles! They also sent someone to build a brand new gas fire pit, so we could enjoy that too. I highly recommend this spot. Beautiful, off the beaten path, private, and with incredible and helpful owners!
