Once we arrived the experience was TRULY MAGICAL. We had such an awesome experience exploring the property, birdwatching, hiking and some light climbing. Don't forget to check out the cave!
The facilities were beyond expectations and we had a seamless experience. Steve was super accommodating and was great at communicating—he even gave us a small tour of the property!
The sunsets and sunrises here were something out of a dream, we wish we could wake up every morning here.

Sagewinds Farm is the first certified organic white sage farm in the world. Located in the high desert of San Diego county, between 3500 feet and 3800 ft. this beautiful 40 acres features caves, massive boulders to climb, views, flat land and privacy. At night the stars are magnificent and the milky way is visible...there are meteor showers several times a year. Permanent residents in the barn are the 2 mini horses to visit and four wonderful dogs. The nights are always cool and usually below 60% so be prepared to sleep well, even if the days are hot. There is almost always a breeze and sometimes a wind, so bring your kites. There are visiting animals that past thru and could include, coyotes, bobcats, Coatis, foxes, rabbits, quail, hawks and mountain lions. There are also some snake and lizards. We do have rattlesnakes. To make up for the rattlers we offer two flush toilets!
Camp on the healthy, beautiful and first Certified Organic White Sage Farm in the World. I like to tell people that this is sacred land and it is. Come see the magnificent boulder formations. Come for the quiet. Come for the stars. Remember that the Jacumba Hotel Hot Springs and restaurant is 5 minutes away and the food is exceptional.
The place to heal
Beautiful high desert,(3500') with boulders, boulder mountains, caves and views. Rolling southern California terrain, home to all kinds of birds and wild life. Camp on top of the mountain, or camp in a cave or anywhere in between. See the Milky way on most nights, all have incredible stars. 40 acres. Visit our the little town of Jacumba Hot springs down the road. Exciting things are happening there. The Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel, really good food, organic produce, and of course the Water! They offer day passes. Weekend music events at the Hotel or the The Old Bathhouse where you listen under the most incredible stars. Bazaar at the Bathouse the first Saturday of the month.
This is the prettiest property in east county! And the healthiest! It is a Certified Organic White Sage farm. This is the old west! Come in the spring for the wild flowers on the land.
Come for the dark skies.

*Guests will be given a security keypad code that must be entered in order to gain access to the driveway that leads to the left towards your private tiny home on the hill. Private entry and parking for 2!
*Guests will have exclusive full access to the 1 bedroom home, expansive deck with outdoor eating area, BBQ, fire pit, hammock, and jacuzzi.
*We take the approach of being hands off on the property unless needed, so do not plan to visit with us in person during your stay (unless there is an issue that needs to be addressed) - we want you to feel like you have the home all to yourself!
*NO PARTIES/ EVENTS/ GATHERINGS. MAX OCCUPANCY observed on property. Limit of 2 guests MAX. Please do not book this property if you are looking to party as you will be asked to leave with no refund.
*There is plenty of parking along our spacious unpaved driveway leading up to the home and it is secured by our private security gate.
*Quiet time is 10pm- 7am (music off, voices down)
*Please do not disturb neighbors *Bringing pets? There is an additional fee of $50/night per pet. *Also, this property is not fenced and is surrounded by wildlife (ie. coyotes, rattlesnakes, etc). Please take precautions with your pet and never leave them unattended outside. * Fire Pit: Feel free to cozy up around our fire pit, but remember to do so with caution, especially when a child is present—safety first! Guests may incur charges for any loss of propane if the fire pit is left unattended for extended periods. *The Den resort fee covers spa maintenance, cleanings, and propane for fire pit use. If there is ever an issue with the spa or fire pit we can refund you this $35 spa & fire pit resort fee. Pets are not allowed in the hot tub.
*Guests arriving after dark: Twin Oaks Valley road is not well lit (due to no street lights). Proceed slowly with headlights on. Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.
*Exterior Cameras- Security gate, driveway and front door- audio & visual recordings activated by motion sensor and in place for safety measures.
*Special note after the COVID-19 Crisis: Protecting each other’s health and safety is very important to us. We are doing our part in keeping our vacation rental as safe as possible to prevent any spread of any disease/illness. Sagewinds Farm is the first certified organic white sage farm in the world. Located in the high desert of San Diego county, between 3500 feet and 3800 ft. this beautiful 40 acres features caves, massive boulders to climb, views, flat land and privacy. At night the stars are magnificent and the milky way is visible...there are meteor showers several times a year. Permanent residents in the barn are the 2 mini horses to visit and four wonderful dogs. The nights are always cool and usually below 60% so be prepared to sleep well, even if the days are hot. There is almost always a breeze and sometimes a wind, so bring your kites. There are visiting animals that past thru and could include, coyotes, bobcats, Coatis, foxes, rabbits, quail, hawks and mountain lions. There are also some snake and lizards. We do have rattlesnakes. To make up for the rattlers we offer two flush toilets!
Camp on the healthy, beautiful and first Certified Organic White Sage Farm in the World. I like to tell people that this is sacred land and it is. Come see the magnificent boulder formations. Come for the quiet. Come for the stars. Remember that the Jacumba Hotel Hot Springs and restaurant is 5 minutes away and the food is exceptional.
The place to heal
Beautiful high desert,(3500') with boulders, boulder mountains, caves and views. Rolling southern California terrain, home to all kinds of birds and wild life. Camp on top of the mountain, or camp in a cave or anywhere in between. See the Milky way on most nights, all have incredible stars. 40 acres. Visit our the little town of Jacumba Hot springs down the road. Exciting things are happening there. The Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel, really good food, organic produce, and of course the Water! They offer day passes. Weekend music events at the Hotel or the The Old Bathhouse where you listen under the most incredible stars. Bazaar at the Bathouse the first Saturday of the month.
This is the prettiest property in east county! And the healthiest! It is a Certified Organic White Sage farm. This is the old west! Come in the spring for the wild flowers on the land.

*Pets are welcome. Pet fee is $50 per night per pet
*No outside fires - a propane BBQ and fire pit are supplied for guests enjoyment.
*Children are welcome but this is not a good fit for infants. No baby amenities provided
*Guests will be given a security keypad code that must be entered in order to gain access to the driveway that leads to the left towards your private tiny home on the hill. Private entry and parking for 2!
*Guests will have exclusive full access to the 1 bedroom home, expansive deck with outdoor eating area, BBQ, fire pit, hammock, and jacuzzi.
*We take the approach of being hands off on the property unless needed, so do not plan to visit with us in person during your stay (unless there is an issue that needs to be addressed) - we want you to feel like you have the home all to yourself!
*NO PARTIES/ EVENTS/ GATHERINGS. MAX OCCUPANCY observed on property. Limit of 2 guests MAX. Please do not book this property if you are looking to party as you will be asked to leave with no refund.
*There is plenty of parking along our spacious unpaved driveway leading up to the home and it is secured by our private security gate.
*Quiet time is 10pm- 7am (music off, voices down)

*Also, this property is not fenced and is surrounded by wildlife (ie. coyotes, rattlesnakes, etc). Please take precautions with your pet and never leave them unattended outside. * Fire Pit: Feel free to cozy up around our fire pit, but remember to do so with caution, especially when a child is present—safety first! Additionally, please be mindful that our fire pit's propane usage is monitored. Guests may incur charges for any loss of propane if the fire pit is left unattended for extended periods. *The Den resort fee covers spa maintenance, cleanings, and propane for fire pit use. If there is ever an issue with the spa or fire pit we can refund you this $35 spa & fire pit resort fee. Pets are not allowed in the hot tub.
*Guests arriving after dark: Twin Oaks Valley road is not well lit (due to no street lights). Proceed slowly with headlights on. Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.
*Exterior Cameras- Security gate, driveway and front door- audio & visual recordings activated by motion sensor and in place for safety measures.
*Special note after the COVID-19 Crisis: Protecting each other’s health and safety is very important to us. We are doing our part in keeping our vacation rental as safe as possible to prevent any spread of any disease/illness. With the current concern over the coronavirus, we have taken further precautions. We have always made sure each room is clean and safe for the next guest and we will continue to do so. We slept SO WELL at Coyote Moon. It’s so peaceful, dark and quiet - exactly what we needed after a beautiful but disruptive night of sleep in Joshua Tree. Adil is a great Host, creating a strong sense of welcome and safety while supporting your privacy and seclusion. The view from the site is really beautiful and there were great flowers while we there!! As a heads up you will be camping fairly close to the house but the site is lovely, private and peaceful. 2 nights at Hideout Mountain Lodge
The full amenities, were a plus. The fridge was great, no need for ice refills. Wifi, stove, microwave, and shower/toilet came in handy, as did the heating(40° temps). Dark sky viewing was excellent, and made viewing Jupiter and the total lunar eclipse with my telescope, amazing. Close proximity to Julian is great.

Jeff’s 2nd, new campsite (Camp Minty) was even better than I imagined. It’s located just a bit further down the same dirt road as the other smaller “mountain campsite”, but keeps its totally private appeal. the entrance is just beyond the porta potty, which is kept super clean btw. One of the best things about this campsite is the amount of space. Level land and so much room for multiple tents, cars, or camper. It would be perfect for a large group/families since there’s plenty room for activities and spreading out without feeling crowded. The amenities are amazing—a perfect balance between camping and glamping. Includes: kitchen area w/ cookware, sink, grill, picnic tables, string lights, space heater, two hammocks, a kid’s house and another room (both in progress), iron fire pit, airsoft range in a lower lot (airsoft gear not included), & even a Pac-Man machine which was a fun surprise. The site is still very much immersed in nature, and the stargazing out there is extraordinary. Worth noting: we had only one very windy day during our stay. If wind’s in the forecast, it may help to set up ur tent along the dirt hill/cliff area to the side. Highly recommend the 6mile round trip hike, eagle rock trail (has rock formations at the end to climb/explore). We’ve done it during both of our stays at each of Jeff’s campsites. I’ve already recommended this spot to my friends, family, and even a few strangers in small talk. I can’t wait to come back again with a big group of friends.

Adil is a very helpful host and Coyote Moon is exactly what one would hope for. The bonus with Coyote Moon is the feeling of solitude yet with the convenience of being near so many things to do. 20 min drive for everything from great hiking to good beer. Very dog friendly as well.

We had the most fantastic time at Vicki's place. We were here at the end of February, when the state park camps to the south of Palomar are closed. Abundant wildlife and spectacular views. Wonderful access to the park and trails. Rich, who checked us in, was warm and so helpful... and he and the electrician (who's rigging up all of the amazing solar on the site) even generously helped us with a little car issue we were having before we had to set out on our way. Be sure to look up the history of the springs-- it's fascinating!

However.. The person I was messaging would respond hours after I message them. They said they would send me a map of the area but never did.
The cove is quite cozy, it's an actual cove. Cabin 9 (I think) kind of overlooks the campsite, but they have some wall/barriers set up so it doesn't feel overly intrusive. The ground is pretty flat so it's a good setup anywhere around the site.
The site owners have nice turf patches that you can move around and set your tent on top of, so it's nice to have some padding under as well.
You can hear the cows in the distance and when you have time, walk around the site, there is quite a nice view of the lake and surrounding meadow. Really nice view.
It's quite peaceful, and they put thoughtful touches like fairy lights that are solar powered and an electrical outlet nearby the site. The site manager, Ray, I believe, told me they are continuously looking to improve the site for a more enhanced experience.
Overall, I did enjoy the stay, the campsite was really peaceful, it might've been a slower season at the moment, but the weather was cool, site was comfortable, and I had a good time.
Will come back again.

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito
Jacob is super accommodating and just nice all-around! He responded right away whenever I messaged him. When we got there, the Eureka cabin was so cute, and the sun on the porch felt very nice. While it was cold at night during this time, Jacob provided extra blankets for us. We also bought firewood for the firepit in front of the cabin, and pizza oven wood to make pizzas! The outdoor kitchen is STOCKED with more than just basic seasonings and kitchenware. The outdoor shower runs hot water easily and is decently covered. Walking around the land feels very much like a camping outdoor experience. Gertie (their dog) was also very friendly and loved being around us

Booked a spot in the Cove tent camping area. Very peaceful and secluded. Cows in the valley below brooding daytime and at night coyotes howling. Lots of stars in the clear skies. It was cold at night, late February, (low 40's) so I decided to car camp. The camp hosts are really sweet. The toilet was close and very well kept. This is a quiet spot, yet only about a 25 minute drive to downtown Julian. I was the only tent camper, the cabins near by had occupancy. There is also a lower tent camping area that gets much more sun. I hesitate to recommend it for selfish reasons! Definitely a place I will return to. Great spot!

I decided on a last minute spur of the moment camping trip with my pup and we loved Campo Nopalito so much! The cute and cozy A shaped cabin, fully stocked kitchen with pizza oven, eating and rest areas, bathroom, and beautiful grassy areas was convenient and perfect for a low effort camping experience. Jacob was very kind and helpful and we’ll definitely be back with pizza ingredients to try out the pizza oven next time.

Would absolutely recommend Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch — it truly feels like a hidden paradise.
The views are incredible — during the day you can see all the way across San Diego out to the Pacific Ocean, and at night you get the best of both worlds: the glow of city lights below and a sky full of stars above your head. Whether you love camping or not, this place might just change your mind.
One important thing to keep in mind is the drive up. The off-road section from the bottom to the campsite is no joke and definitely not ideal for a regular city sedan. A 4WD SUV is highly recommended. We even ended up rescuing a truck that was stuck on the side of the cliff — thankfully we had a tow rope with us. The drive is fun and adventurous, but make sure you’re prepared and confident with off-road conditions.
Everyone in our group already agreed we’re coming back again — and next time with a vehicle fully ready for off-roading to make the experience even more fun.
