Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each bluff campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. The beach and waterfall campsites do not have picnic tables so you might want to bring one if you’ve booked there. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night! The dramatic cliffs here are sandstone that has been eroded and shaped by the sea. You might see cave-like features called tafoni. Tafoni is formed when the ocean deposits salt on the sandstone. The salt interacts with the sandstone, hardening parts of it and forming the signature honeycomb features. It also gives this park its name. All these features make Salt Point a great place for climbing. Where else can you lead an overhanging roof while looking out over the Pacific? Make sure you check the tide tables, some routes are underwater at low tide!There is also plenty of hiking in the area. Trails wind through Douglas Fir and Coastal Redwood forests before spitting you out on rocky beaches. If it’s been raining, hike the Bluff Trail to find a hidden waterfall that spills directly into the ocean. Camping can be had at the nearby Gerstle Cove and Woodside Campgrounds. Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic experience! Really great site for a big family or a couple families to spend the weekend! The combination of beautiful surroundings and glamping amenities really make this a great option. Strongly recommend!

2 nights at Swallowtail Historic Art Studio

Bill’s land was one of the best hip camps I have ever stayed at! The Indonesian bedroom was so serene and I slept like a baby with the heated bed. The bathroom was so beautifully decorated with ornate paintings, little treasures, and the stained glass window was intricately stunning. The hot tub was a bonus and it was extremely close to the town of Petaluma and hiking trails. You definitely should stay here for a romantic getaway!

I loved our glamping spot. The free complimentary firewood on the first night and free complimentary extra mattresses were nice for my family and I. the mountain views 360 all around were so pretty! It was also very shaded. We saw many deer, quail, and squirrel by our tent was a treat for my children. The restrooms were not horrible. There is also an observatory nearby so we got to view the stars at night. It was a pleasant trip. The glamp itself was nice and furnished, perfect for my family who usually have a very hard time camping in nature.

Tyler was a great host and his place was the perfect spot for a weekend camping trip with friends! Tyler helped prepped everything we asked for before we arrived and stayed in communication throughout the stay to help with our requests. The place itself is beautiful with places and animals to explore for the group.

This was such a wonderful 2 days. The waterfall site is definitely the best, and shielded from the wind. Sites are very small but sufficient. Waterfall site is separated from the others which is an extra plus. Brenda was so nice and accommodating. We went on Thursday and was not crowded. Felt like a private beach. Not much noise from the highway at all. Definitely busier come Friday. There are people with day passes to launch boats, but they’re generally respectful and friendly. Only negative was 5am Saturday several vehicles came down to the beach (assume with day passes to launch boats). Would be nice if quiet time extended until at least 7am as they were quite disruptive. Still, did not impact our overall stay.

2 nights at A California Dream: Camp Hoppy

Camp hoppy was is an amazing, beautiful spot tucked away in the redwood forest. We had an amazing time enjoying the fire under the trees, listening to the creek, watching the moon rise, and spotting some really interesting wildlife. It’s the perfect balance of being immersed in nature while still having the comforts you need: an open-air space for cooking, hot water, and a nice, clean bathroom. Having the entire property and creek to ourselves made it feel like a peaceful little retreat. It truly has everything you need for a perfect nature getaway. I’d love to come back in the future. This is a lovely Hipcamp spot!

Our time at Waterfall was lovely. It is great to be on the beach. There is a lot of action during the day as fisherman and day visitors are plentiful. Brenda was welcoming. It is rather bare bones camping...which I love...site says no portable water yet Brenda let me know the water is filtered and fine to drink. A plus!!! We would have appreciated it if we understood how steep the road was down to the site. That said, we had not issues negotiating. For those looking for a more rigid and sweet experience this is the place.!

Great scenery from virtually every site, with shade, spacious level sites and parking, very clean and nice-smelling bathrooms and showers, easily accessible trails, lots of wildlife (deer, turkey, birds), and all in all a great first glamping experience for me! It will be hard to go back to a regular tent site again…JK. Friendly staff, and a bit ununusal ans a state park being operated as a collaborative of Sonoma Ecology Center and Team Sugarloaf. Great base for exploring by bicycle — we drove our bikes down to Kenwood and enjoyed riding around the area, all the way to Sonoma. Vineyards, small towns, both gentle and challenging bike route options. Or just relax and hike around the park trails. Thank you for a great getaway!

The staff was amazing and super welcoming. Originally booked for a tent site, but due to weather conditions, decided we wanted a cabin instead. The staff thankfully accommodate us and upgraded our stay. It rained on and off during the entirety of our stay. But regardless, we were satisfied with all the activities and space that Mandala Springs provided to give us a peaceful and wholesome experience.

Weekend Trip to Wild Canyon Ranch CA

We took a pre-school class camping at Tyler’s place! We really had a great time. The kitchen and bathroom worked great even though we had close to 30 people at max. The donkeys and cows were a huge hit. The property provided plenty of space to roam and explore so the kids had a great time. The hike to the creek was a bit more intense than we realized but the creek itself was great! Just a very big climb back to home. Overall both the kids and the adults had a spectacular time and we plan to come again

We had an amazing time at this fantastic campground! The location is beautiful, super private and peaceful, with lovely sunsets and sunrises. The stars at night were spectacular with no light pollution. Plenty of space for our group of four families to spread out, and the kids had a great time and loved the donkeys and Highland cows. It was very helpful having a fridge, toilet/shower, gas fire, and camp stove on site. Tyler, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming. He met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, family-friendly place to camp!

Wow, what a place!!! We glamped to the fullest! Beds were made for us in our bell tent upon arrival, and park staff made sure that we had everything we needed. Others camping were very respectful of the quiet hours, so we slept great! The views were awesome, hiking was right on site, and we saw turkeys and deer every morning and evening. Highly recommend!!!

Perfect spot. Small meadow behind provided space for turkeys, deer and jack rabbits.

We loved this site and campground. We hadn't been up in years and still experienced the same far away but close feel. I love that you can only get wifi by the rangers station so we are tech free at the campsite. I do wish there was water in the creek. In the past we would put our chairs down there and hangout. I will say there are a lot of wasps so bring some wasp catchers. The campground had some up but it wasn't nearly enough. We made it work!! Glamping Tent made for an easy set up and take down and was way more comfortable than a tent! I thought it was staged from the photos but it had everything you see. Even a fan and a light! Overall 10/10 and would highly recommend this campground and site!

Mandala Springs was a last minute getaway on a crowded holiday weekend. The facilities were very clean - wonderful pool, clean bathrooms, and plenty of space to tent camp around the established cabins and glamping tents. I arrived after hours, but instructions were clearly stated at the office for setting up for the night. I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy some of the other offerings, like the swimming holes, paddle boats or mini golf, but what I did experience of the grounds and the hiking trails and meditation zones - complete with chimes - was lovely, well maintained, and very relaxing. It also seemed like the camp hosts regular events - smores bonfires, and shared meals - and I like the invitation to feel a sense of community and connection with others enjoying the space. The one thing I hadn't anticipated was that this family-friendly campground was particularly kid-forward on this holiday weekend, especially with very energetic and vocal young ones running throughout the camp - as late as 11pm and again at 6:30 in the morning. It held my experience back from being a truly peaceful getaway, but for the brief time of my stay, the pros outweighed the cons. I'd look elsewhere for a single or couples getaway campsite, but for those with kids looking for an easy getaway where they can roam freely, this seems like a good fit.
