It is most famously known for our groves of pistachios and the famous Baghdad Cafe which was featured in the 1987 film Baghdad Cafe. Our property happens to be 1.5 miles from the famous Baghdad Cafe which makes a quick visit to the Cafe incredibly convenient. To celebrate our Pistachios, come join us the first Saturday of every November for our Pistachio Festival which boasts lots of vendors, food, and fun! Speaking of festivals, if you like large firework shows in the sky, then you'll want to be sure to book a spot here every July 3rd for our big 3rd of July Festival which again, is home to lots of vendors, food, fun and an amazing firework display which we happen to have front row seats to. You won't have to worry about parking if you're already here! Do you love celestial events? Awesome location and setting. Sitting at 3000 ft, you can enjoy the cool breeze without dealing with altitude issues, occasional snow. I would have love to stop by when fresh apples and figs were being sold. Close enough to civilization not needing high clearance vehicle but nestled in such a way that you feel you are far away from the rat race. Ill be back!

Bowens Ranch is absolutely beautiful. Tent camping spaces are thoughtfully laid out with opportunities for privacy and beautiful views. There is plenty of wildlife from horses to kangaroo mice. The entire campsite is well maintained and there was a REAL porcelain throne in the toilet facility. I was too tired after hiking to the hot springs and back to make it to the recreation tent, but it sounded like everyone was having a great time. We will definitely be back, hopefully when its a bit warmer. 😉 Getting to the ranch was easier than expected and the staff was very sweet and kind. Thank you everyone who answered all my questions! See you again soon!

I was looking to camp near Calico, for California Days. This camp was private, peaceful, and quiet. I enjoyed hearing the turkeys and the occasional train whistle. The scenery is beautiful and remote. Matthew was very nice and helpful with directions. This site requires that your rig be self-contained, as there are no amenities. I would stay again.

Great directions and communication from Captain Jon. Even though he is closed for the season, he graciously answered my query about a one night stay. I had wanted to stop earlier in the season, but he had sold out for the night! This was a very peaceful quiet overnight for me & my dog. The temps were cold so we did not swim in the clear pond. But we watched a beautiful sunset, and beautiful sunrise. I hope you return in warmer weather, to dip my toes in the pond!! There is a coin-op laundry room for those that need it. And RV hookups.

Weekend Trip to Mojave Moonlight Camping

Site 4 was exactly what we were hoping for. Cold, clear weather with perfect desert nights and wide open skies. The campsite was quiet, clean, and genuinely beautiful, with plenty of space to relax and take it all in. It felt peaceful without feeling too isolated, and everything was well cared for. We will definitely be back.

1 night at VVGMC TAILGATE

This is a really beautiful place to camp. The property is surrounded by mountains, and there are lots of trails to walk, with Joshua Trees and other cool desert plants. It's very quiet - I didn't see a single car drive by while I was here! The dirt road to get here is a little bumpy, but not bad at all. I definitely recommend staying here, and it's a really peaceful campsite!

1 night at Bowen Ranch Hot Spring Retreat

The campground was great and spacious. It was close to the Desert Hotsprings. We walked from our campsite to the trail. Bob and George were so kind and hospitable. I would highly recommend this campground.
