Weekend Trip to The Swimming Hole On Red Cap Creek

We really enjoy our stay in Wayne’s Property, especially the kids and also thank to his wife’s Delicious Chocolate chip cookies, the kids loves it. Wayne and his wife greeted us and give us instructions about our campsite when we arrived, location is very nice, it is surrounded with trees in the middle of the mountain, plus the swimming hole is a bonus. We will recommend the campsite to our friends and we will be back!!

Weekend Trip to Wendy & John Farm

We had a wonderful experience! We went to the beach for sunset and watched the seals. The tent was spacious, the soup was delicious, the firewood bundle was plentiful, the bathrooms were clean, and the coffee and fresh baguettes were an incredible welcome in the morning. Wendy and John were kind, welcoming, and hospitable. Thank you both.

Weekend Trip to Wendy & John Farm

Wendy and John are the best hosts and we will absolutely be back! Tucked away behind a beautiful old farmhouse is the most peaceful clearing for camping. Because we opted into the amazing menu options, Wendy had soup, bread and cobbler warm and ready upon arrival. Absolutely recommend because NOTHING is better than homemade food after a long camping journey and everything was DELICIOUS. The campsites are spaced out enough that we felt we were alone, and the firewood was dry and plentiful. An amazing Hipcamp find!

1 night at Klamath River Village

Ryan’s land is very private and quiet with the exception of the water running nearby. I ended up getting there very late and could not find it at first. Make sure you download an off-line map and don’t be like me. Once I found my spot I was a happy camper though. I really think the water helped me sleep better than I have in a long time. Highly recommend.

1 night at Little Haven Gardens

Small spot next to the host’s driveway in a very quiet peaceful rural neighborhood just outside Arcata. Laurie was very welcoming and invited us to pick fresh blueberries from the garden. Yum! We did a beautiful short hike on a neighborhood trail through a redwood forest. Somewhat lacking in privacy, but on the whole a super spot and a great location. I’d stay there again.

Weekend Trip to Camp Prairie

Bo’s camp is amazing! In a perfect spot if you want to visit the state parks up north or go down to Arcata for a night out. Super close to Mckinleyville too in case you need to go to the store for anything or to get gas. The site was super spacious, very well kept, set up nicely. Loved that there were basic amenities like a toilet, water, and light!

5 nights at Klamath’s Best Kept Secret

We love our stays with Patti. Our site had a full hook-up. The grounds are well maintained and easy to maneuver even with our 35 ft. fifth wheel. Patti is a wonderful host. You will come as a guest but leave as a friend. Her camp hosts are also very friendly. We spent time with Mike by the campfire. He provided us with numerous great suggestions on places to visit in Oregon. This is our second visit but not our last!

3 nights at Whispering Redwood Creek

Chris, our host, was super responsive. The camping area was super cool, secluded and clean. The bathroom was a nice touch to the area. We had our dog who loved it as well since there weren't other campsites in the area. Would highly recommend staying at Chris' plot of land in Mckinleyville.

Weekend Trip to Little Haven Gardens

Our stay at Laurie’s Bayside RV Spot was delightful! We parked on a flat grassy spot with a view of her garden and a neighbor’s barn, and were able to easily hook up to electricity. There was a bouquet of flowers waiting for us on a small table with two chairs next to it. Laurie met us, showed us where to pick blueberries, brought us fresh eggs from her chickens, and told us where to take a lovely walk in the fern-covered forest nearby. A lovely host, we will definitely stay here again!

4 nights at Animal Land

This is our second summer to return to Animal land, a beautiful place to unplug, reset with nature and close your eyes to listen to the river. We look forward to our third summer next year! Ken is a one of a kind host. Very thoughtful, kind and accommodating to the guests at Animal Land, thank you again Ken for a nice camp set up. Several animal and bird sightings during our stay, we are full of gratitude to get to experience a glimmer of river life at Animal Land.

2 nights at Wendy & John Farm

Wendy & John were such hospitable hosts and the actual site was gorgeous and quiet. Showers were hot, other guests were respectful, and John baked lovely warm bread for us on the first night. We loved camping here, and one hundred percent recommend that others try it out too. Ferndale itself was a quaint little town, and a wonderful exploration, with lots to do and see. It was a fabulous time staying here, all in all!

This was our 4th year at Wendy and John’s farm and I promise it never looses its magic! It’s the most beautiful, peaceful place! John, Wendy and their dog Louie are the best hosts you could ask for! The location is so close to the beach that you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves crashing. The birds will also serenade you in the morning and it’s nothing less than a fairytale land. There is a hot shower and flushing toilets which make it that much more comfortable at the end of a long day exploring. 10/10 recommend! Kid and dog friendly.

Weekend Trip to Klamath’s Best Kept Secret

Great location right next to the Klamath River and very close to the heart of the Redwoods. Our neighbors at the campground were all very nice and the location had everything we needed. If you plan to camp in a tent, bring long underwear. It gets cold at night (even in June). We had a great time very relaxing.

We had originally planned on a 3 night stay but we had so much we wanted to squeeze in for our vacation. We plan on returning in August. Our pups loved the open field, the beach is only a mile away and leash free!

Such a perfect campsite as I was driving through. Shannon was super responsive and very helpful. The campground was clean and each campsite has its own unique charm to it. Fire rings, picnic benches, water and even a vault toilet. Was able to fall asleep to the sound of the stream after a mellow campfire.

Tucked away at the edge of the Klamath Glen neighborhood, our family-owned campground has been welcoming guests for over 40 years. Surrounded by towering trees in the heart of Redwood National Forest and just a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean, this is a true hidden gem on California’s North Coast. We offer a rustic, old-fashioned camping experience. It’s a mix of open field and scattered trees, with both RVs and tent campers on site. Neighbors will be nearby, but the vibe is quiet and relaxed—especially in the off-season, when you might have the place nearly to yourself. The Klamath River is just over the levee—a short walk from your site—with great access for fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The river is world-famous for salmon and steelhead fishing (license required). August and September are peak fishing months, so expect a few early morning engines from folks heading out. We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp. Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in. A few things to note: Firewood available Cell service can be spotty, depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground. Electric car charging is $10 per charge. Please arrange ahead of time—50 amp service is limited, and you’ll need your own adapters. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Kids and laughter are always welcome. My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from its first European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. (The grapevine still grows over the back deck.) What can you expect? Quiet, beauty, birdsong, ocean roar, widely spaced campsites (only 5 on the 5 acres set aside for camping). Free firewood, local tips on travel and where to hike or what to visit. Or total solitude. Bring your (most non-cattle-chasing breeds) dogs if you wish (males must be neutered). Starlink internet. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The air is clean and clear and the water is potable from an artesian spring on the property. No electricity at the sites and no generators allowed. (Charge your electronics at the farmhouse.) We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, morning coffee as extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. So, it's a mix of town and country, village and farm, wilderness and bewilderedness. Safe, safe, safe, meaning: you can leave your belongings in your site and when you come back... they're still there :) We welcome the world.
