We had a wonderful time at Sunnyland and were so happy with the site! We loved being able to cozy up next to a fire inside the cabin, and making our coffee & enjoying our meals in the outdoor kitchen space. The back deck to the cabin offers a breathtakingly beautiful view as well. It was such a peaceful experience and Sunny is an excellent host. I highly recommend if you want a getaway close to the coast. Thanks for the perfect holiday! We had such a relaxing time and will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Comptche Matrix @ Sunny-land
The tiny cabin is super cute and the bed is comfy. The view from the porch is amazing! We got lucky and got a clear night for the Geminid meteor shower and saw lots of shooting stars! I’m not always a “people person” but I loved meeting Sunny who is just the nicest! All the people and critters on Sunnyland are great! I will say, if you don’t like hearing kids at play or if you are afraid of super big, sweet dogs this may not be the place for you. Also, I couldn’t get the WiFi to work, but admittedly didn’t try too hard as there were better things to do than look at my phone! Oh, I also got a chance to look at the campsites and they are all very nice too. Next time we visit during nice weather I think we might try out the RidgeTop site!

We were a group of 11 at Camp Hoppy, and we had an amazing time. The space is beautiful, and it was great having the bathroom and kitchen available. We hope to come back!

Sunny’s disposition, dogs, and property were the perfect refreshing getaway. You can’t get what you’re getting here from anywhere else, i will be back soon! There were a lot of things, also, that I didn’t realize she provided, like blankets and cooking utensils, even wood, for the stove inside the cabin. It’s still for the best to bring your own stuff in case you like to have specific stuff, and just to lessen the load on the host because she offers the space for such a good deal, but if you forget anything she was very generous and kind. She even used her leaf blower on the fire I was struggling to start in the fire pit near the cabin. The pit toilet was clean and not too hard to get to, with a very nice view, and there is a very good park for hiking 20 minutes away, a store 20 minutes in the opposite direction, and you can get to Mendocino or the Pygmy forest with another 20 minutes or so of driving. This would be a good place to stay if you want to visit the hot spring, too, as their camping is closed after November and their hotel is a little pricey. Safe, chill, and neat.

With kids
I just got back from a lovely weekend at Sunny’s cabin with my two kids, and it was exactly what we needed.
The cabin is tucked into the redwoods, quiet and peaceful, and it really felt like a little forest adventure for the kids. Our favorite part was sitting by the fire at night, talking and relaxing together.
Sunny was a wonderful host. She was warm, responsive, and helpful whenever I had a question, but also gave us plenty of privacy. Her two friendly dogs were a huge hit with the kids and made the place feel even more welcoming.
I left feeling rested, my kids had a great time, and I would happily come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, nature-filled getaway.

Sunny is so sweet and this place is so charming! I had a lovely time staying here while visiting Mendocino, which is about 40 mins away. There were a couple things I was anxious about - windey roads and the steep driveway to get down to Sunny’s land - but all turned out fine and she put me right at ease. The cabin itself is very cute, outdoor kitchen and shower well functioning, and the dogs kept me company when I was by myself at night!

we had a beautiful evening and great sleep at Sunny’s place! sunset and stars from the deck were stunning, bed was super comfy, and it was such a treat to make breakfast with eggs from the chickens :) the tiny cabin is near to the main house on the property but plenty of visual privacy and super quiet at night and into the morning. Sunny was super kind and helpful!

I loved camping in Sunny's spot! If you're looking for a secluded spot near the coast, you can admire the stars and hang out with dogs here - they are very polite - equipped with a full kitchen, shower and other amenities, would certainly be back for another great time.

We loved Sunnyland! The directions were clear and driving in was beautiful. We did have some trouble driving up (2wd) to leave but Sunny was super helpful and we made it out! We had a great time hanging out with the boys but still got our privacy. The land is breathtaking and the vibes are WONDERFUL. I can’t say enough great things!

2 nights at A California Dream: Camp Hoppy
Camp hoppy was is an amazing, beautiful spot tucked away in the redwood forest. We had an amazing time enjoying the fire under the trees, listening to the creek, watching the moon rise, and spotting some really interesting wildlife. It’s the perfect balance of being immersed in nature while still having the comforts you need: an open-air space for cooking, hot water, and a nice, clean bathroom.
Having the entire property and creek to ourselves made it feel like a peaceful little retreat. It truly has everything you need for a perfect nature getaway. I’d love to come back in the future. This is a lovely Hipcamp spot!

My significant other and I truly enjoyed our time at Sunny’s land, Sunny was so sweet and helpful and very responsive to all of my needs. The tiny cabin was so cozy and cute! The bed was very comfy, the views were breathtaking, and our favorite part was our camp fire with the view of the stars.

My stay at Sunny land was absolutely lovely! The cabin itself is so cozy, with a deck and a gorgeous view. There's a kitchen -- sink, mini fridge, and propane stove, with dishes and soap provided. Cute working shower with hot water, and the outdoor toilet was intimidating, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be -- plus the view from it is beautiful. Chloe and Echo were very capable escorts around the site, and Sunny herself was so kind and sweet, and helped us navigate around the area a bit (we drove in to Mendocino and did the skunk train at Fort Bragg). Highlight of the trip was absolutely the stars! So many stars, I don't think I've ever seen so many in my life.

Another AMAZING trip at Camp Hoppy with our group, this time with 2 doggos in tow! The site is huge and allowed us to split up amongst the camp area, as well as in the lower site near the river.
Can't recommend this site enough for groups looking for a private, beautiful, relaxing escape

Directions were clear but still a little difficult to find, recommend getting in before dark. Definitely a glamping situation. Pit toilet is hard to access, and had to ask for toilet paper. Sunny was very accommodating and wifi was great. Pet dog lives outside and barks throughout the night. Kids will love to meet you!

Great spot! Loved getting into the river and hanging around the property. Some good platforms for sleeping on. One note; the yurt by the river has seen better days and we opted not to sleep in it. Otherwise, a beautiful and tranquil spot in a perfect location.

We loved camp hoppy! It was a beautiful space, clean, open with plenty of land for the dogs to run around in. The creek was a short hike down and we had a great time in the water. It was a hot weekend for May but the redwoods at the campsite provided adequate shade and it was a lot cooler than expected.
