The Ozark National Forest covers most of the Ozark Mountains, including the highest peak in the state. It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too.
I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own.

Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn.
You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that.
There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas.
The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.)
The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own.

The majority of this property is the woods, open fields, rough terrain, etc. So you will experience all Nature has to offer. Things like poison ivy, seed ticks, chiggers, ants, spiders, snakes, wildlife...Always check with the host on the app before arrival. Arriving when it gets dark will mean you will be setting up in the dark unless you have brought lanterns. If you've booked a site, the gate will be open for you, but you will be on your own. The camp host from April 27 - July 1st is on call for guests needs, but is not on site. Checkout time is by Noon. Check in is at 2:00 pm. 7 minutes to 3 lakes in Horseshoe Bend, and the Strawberry River. 20 minutes to Spring River, that flows down from Mammoth Spring, excellent fishing, and float/kayak river.
16 minutes to small Hospital if needed. Walmart and many restaurants same distance.
I have 3 sites to tent camp. I can also accommodate a small motorhome, van or car dwellers. #3 is all set up, with tent on covered site. 2 cots with sleeping pads, fire pit, composting toilet, container with water. Just bring yourself, a sleeping bag and any personal or camping items, #2 has the tent platform, bring your own gear, and #3 you'd need to carry your gear a block and a half to reach the back corner of my property, and have all the privacy you could possibly want.
I also have additional acreage where you could pick your own spot to set up.
No overhead lighting, so nothing to block your night sky views.
This is off grid, so no power, water is in container at site, fire ring provided, you either bring or buy wood by the bundle. Peaceful and quiet. Pets must be kept on leash or contained at all times. Plenty of room to go walk for miles if desired.
Road out here is private, not County maintained, please drive slow.
Rooster crows as he pleases, lol. Goats do their own talking as well.
If you want to run a generator, please turn off by 9pm.
This is a working homestead, always animal sounds, and work projects going on.

I moved to my dream home and property March 1, 2020.
I refer to it as a hideaway because not only am I at the end of town, this is a dead end street so it stays quiet of traffic. Being downhill, next to the creek, I feel, is safer from tornados, as well, the echo goes uphill instead of downhill toward this property. I am learning town history from a friend that runs the historical society, here in town.
As I learn things, I hope to share the information with anyone that may be interested.

The front of my property is very flat and grassy, from the creek fence to the front side of my house. Mature trees that line my property provide nice shade in the spring and summer, however, the property is open air. The stars are spectacular. There is no light pollution. (once it is dark, you can't see your hand in front of your face)
This is a small town of about 2000 people or so. There are quite a few shops as well as a grocery store, hardware store, a couple auto stores as well as a couple dealerships. There is a drive through coffee shop as well as a couple drug stores available in town. There are 3 to 5 different repair shops around. There is a beautiful golf course, 5-8 minutes away, just around the corner. .
I live in a peaceful and extremely tranquil spot here. A good hideaway, if thats what you’re looking for. Hide away and recoup before your next big adventure. There are a few kids around that love to ride their ATVs, bikes, walk, skateboard and skate up and down Conniebrook Lane. We have bike rally's coming through town often, in the summer.
Mt. View, AR, the bluegrass music capitol of the world is about 45 minutes away. Beautiful drive, to get there. Scenic overlooks on the way.
Wheelchair Accessibility: I am sure any electric wheelchair would have no problem going over the grass area anywhere they wanted to go in the camping area. I hope if there are any issues, it would be brought to my attention and I would make it accommodating, immediately.. I am extremely handy and mechanical.

It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! The whole expanse of land is filled with multi-use trails, hundreds of campsites, spots for swimming, fishing, and boating, and even some amazing caves to explore. Mother Nature crushing it as usual.

I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own.

The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.)

This is off grid, so no power, water is in container at site, fire ring provided, you either bring or buy wood by the bundle. Peaceful and quiet. Pets must be kept on leash or contained at all times. Plenty of room to go walk for miles if desired.

I refer to it as a hideaway because not only am I at the end of town, this is a dead end street so it stays quiet of traffic. Being downhill, next to the creek, I feel, is safer from tornados, as well, the echo goes uphill instead of downhill toward this property. The front of my property is very flat and grassy, from the creek fence to the front side of my house. Mature trees that line my property provide nice shade in the spring and summer, however, the property is open air. The stars are spectacular. There is no light pollution. (once it is dark, you can't see your hand in front of your face)
This is a small town of about 2000 people or so. There are quite a few shops as well as a grocery store, hardware store, a couple auto stores as well as a couple dealerships. There is a drive through coffee shop as well as a couple drug stores available in town. There are 3 to 5 different repair shops around. There is a beautiful golf course, 5-8 minutes away, just around the corner. .
I live in a peaceful and extremely tranquil spot here. A good hideaway, if thats what you’re looking for. Hide away and recoup before your next big adventure. There are a few kids around that love to ride their ATVs, bikes, walk, skateboard and skate up and down Conniebrook Lane. We have bike rally's coming through town often, in the summer.
Mt. View, AR, the bluegrass music capitol of the world is about 45 minutes away. Beautiful drive, to get there. Scenic overlooks on the way.
Wheelchair Accessibility: I am sure any electric wheelchair would have no problem going over the grass area anywhere they wanted to go in the camping area. I hope if there are any issues, it would be brought to my attention and I would make it accommodating, immediately.. I am extremely handy and mechanical.

Robert and his wife Susan were wonderful hosts! Me and my lady had a great time. The outlook is jaw-dropping gorgeous and the stars were great, little to no light pollution this far out. This was truly the best camping place we’ve ever been to. The views were absolutely stunning, and the campsite itself was perfect for our tent. Robert and Susan went above and beyond to make the experience special. We even got a fun and super interesting coffee lesson (featuring some of the best coffee we’ve ever had), followed by a fresh latte handcrafted by Susan, which was absolutely delicious. Robert even sent my husband back with some of his coffee to share with the guys at the fire station, which meant so much to us. And if that wasn’t enough, they also dropped off homemade sourdough monkey bread, which was nothing short of phenomenal.
Robert and Susan are honestly some of the kindest and most thoughtful people we’ve ever met. On top of the amazing views from the campsite, the common area was perfect—especially on the rainy day we had. We were able to relax on the couch with our dogs, stay dry, and still enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This was one of my favorite campsites of all time! The view from the bluff just a short walk down the hill is amazing! Great for viewing stars at night, too! It’s also nice to have a good shower and toilet available! The campground was full, but there are not many sites, so being able to use the shower/bathroom wasn’t a huge conflict. Robert was an extra kind host, and he brought freshly roasted (and brewed) coffee every morning to the common area! When we requested firewood through the Hip Camp app, he had it for us at our site very quickly. We were really tired and my husband was kind of feeling sick during our stay, so we did not hike on the trail down into the valley. But, we plan to camp here again and hike the trail! We have a pretty large tent (6 person tent) and we were able to fit it on the camp pad! The fire pit and picnic table were also nice additions to our camp life. We also hung up our hammocks over by the bluff and it was an amazing reading spot with a view! We loved everything! This is a great place to get away from the noise and busyness of modern life, but it still has amazing amenities like coffee, a bathroom, AND WiFi. 😄

The view was amazing, the coffee was fantastic, the shower was hot, and the flushing toilet was more than appreciated. Robert and Susan were wonderful hosts. We loved celebrating our anniversary in this beautiful place. At all times we felt very safe, the communication was on point, the hosts were incredibly warm, attentive and very kind to us, even the other people camping at the same time were wonderful.
Waking up and seeing a gorgeous sunrise in the middle of these beautiful mountains was a dream.
So many comfortable things provided, warm shower, very clean spaces, delicious coffee and you can add in the payment needed stuff for camping in case you’re not prepared like us hehe.

The Hill Top campsite was great! The site was close to the scenic bluff overlook and we got to watch the sun set. It wasn’t too far from the other camp sites but it still felt private because it had some trees that separated the sites. Robert and Susan were WONDERFUL hosts. They gave clear directions and greeted us with such hospitality when we arrived (and when we departed). It was nice having the shower and toilet in the community area. They also provided fresh-roasted Numu coffee in the Spartan community camper and it was fabulous! And they were so sweet to bring us muffins in the morning. We will definitely be going back and we highly recommend!

Perfect for campers looking for a small, quiet place. The owner was really nice and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Would definitely stay again.

My family had a great time at Harper’s Bluff! The views were unbelievable and the owners were so nice! The restrooms and showers were spotless and in such a neat building. We can’t wait to go back!
