Teresa was so accommodating and had lots of information about the area. Quiet and private sight. Would stay again if we were in the area.

The stay at this campsite was very relaxing and quiet. It was a great place to stay in the countryside and was well groomed. The owner was great and did everything she could to enjoy our stay which we did very much.

I enjoyed it. Decent view of the river at sunset. Firewood was available. I wanted to leave a fiver but I only had ones and 20s. Nice little campground. Coyotes heard in the distance down river. It was quite nice.

Each primitive site has a grassy area, picnic table, and fire ring with no designated parking area. Beautiful eleven point river offers blue, red, and white ribbon, spring fed trout/walleye water. If you're looking to float the river, be sure to research the many springs on the way down your trip and the historic mill communities that once flourished there. These are perfect opportunities to take a break, eat a meal, and explore the area. Most also will have public bathrooms. Unless there are multiple reservations, you will be allowed to hookup/stay at whichever site is the easiest for you to get parked at. The small rural town of Van Buren, Missouri is 1 mile away for supplies. A must see is Big Springs in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways Park 3 miles away. Full hook up (water/elec/sewer/trash) located at 136 Harner Holler in Van Buren, Missouri. Only a three other RV sites on the property. Sites listed are 136A and 136 B is on the shared acre. The other two sites are approximately 50 yards away, 209 being one of these sites. The total property area is 30 acres with rarely any traffic on the country road. Dumpster service is provided and each site has its own locally built custom fire pit. Firewood is available upon request. It’s approximately 10 minutes to Doniphan where you can launch a boat, get groceries, eat out, and do some local shopping. If you are looking for other rivers the Eleven Point River is close by as well. For a few more amenities, Poplar Bluff is less than 45 minutes away.

Van Buren River Fun RV & Campsites opened for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 with a sold out campground! It was an awesome experience to see the beautiful Eclipse!! Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a ton of fun! This campground is unique because it comes with private access to 1 mile of river access at Shote Hole Bluff there's a shallow gravel bar for swimming, lounging in the sun in your chair, cooking out, a boat dock, you can set up a canopy for the day and have fun in the sun in the pristine crystal clear gorgeous spring fed Current River! The RV and camp sites have access to a potable water spigot, a porta potty all season long from May 24th through September 3rd, a sewer dump site and the RV and campsites have their own fire rings. The river is directly across the road from the campground. This is the quietest campground that is close to the river and it is very close to Van Buren. It is a rare luxury to have walking access to the Current River. Please contact us with any questions - seasonal rates being May 31, 2024 through Labor Day, September 3, 2024.

Camp Cock-A-Doodle is part of our three camp compound Explore the trails leading land marks like Gum Tree Rock and a Geocache! The Woodland Hills neighborhood is blessed with no railroad tracks or much noise pollution - or light Pollution! The Campground is not far from River access, plentiful creeks, waterfalls and lots of options for float trips. The cutest little river town is just down the road - Hardy Arkansas! You will understand why we all call this area of NEA paradise. Hardy has restaurants, junk shops, candy shop and a hippy store! Hardy beach is a treasure of a local swimming hole with waterfalls and rope swing. Camp Cock-A-Doodle is surrounded by tall trees and truly gives you that deep wood vibe. Details of the campground came right from the land. Large rocks collected from the land were used to create the fire pits. The cedar post marking each campsite were harvested right from the land.

Myc’s Forest

During spring there is a wide variety of wildflowers along with edible berries. There are three primitive campsites on the property. Each campsite is provided with a fire pit and trash can. We do not provide bathrooms so either dig a hole or bring your own portable toilet. Five of ten acres are open for campers to roam while the other five is where my partner and I have our off-grid home, garden, and pets.
