Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. Are you grown ups who don't want to be next to kids yelling and running around dropping trash and throwing rocks, or barking pit bulls chained up, or loud music and generators? Do you like a clean restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? Do you want to feel safe, enjoy beautiful views and know your stuff won't be stolen while you are in Tombstone? Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You MUST arrive by dark unless arrangements are made in advance. I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

This was my first time using HipCamp and boy, does Karla set the bar high. The property speaks for itself, attention to detail everywhere, very clean property and very well organized and thought out. Treated us with a community fire pit, got to make some new camp friends along the way. Restroom was super convenient and clean, the tent site allowed us to have a covered gazebo over us for added warmth and comfort. Overall a 5-star experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Oh, and Reba the donkey is super friendly and loves ear scritches in the morning 😁

I work out of town occasionaly and dont like to waste money on motel rooms. Itd great there are places like this where someone can just pitch a tent, and enjoy the quietness of the outdoors. The campsites themselves were great. A small open area surrounded by trees. There were chairs provided around campfire pits. A portapotty was provided, which is a great benefit you dont get while rustic camping. The price was unbeatable! I will definately be back to spend some more time with the awesome hosts, and the adorable animals!

Karla place was a fantastic surprise. We stayed at site 3 "The shady rest" for 3 nights, placed our tent outside and turned the shelter into our kitchen / dining setup. Kara's space is a work of art, tranquility and relaxation. She is a lovley and attentive host, provided us with everything we needed.

So spoiled, we took the beach site which gave us the side door direct to Playa Tortuga

This was our first time with Hipcamp and very impressed. First off Tim & Victoria went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It had sites set so you weren’t super close. They just opened Playa Tortuga Ultra Lounge a domed space to meet with the other campers to visit stay out of the heat or use a heater on cold night or a propane fire pit and visiting. They have several other things to do for activities. Our campsite had a propane grill, sink and running water, fire ring, table and chairs and a tub with extras if you forgot something. Nothing was left out and we didn’t even bring all our usual stuff for tent camping as they had it for us. Fun place to stay

1000/10- wow. Everything we needed and more. Karla is such a caring and considerate host with a magical place to share. My dog and I booked as a last minute self care getaway. Upon our arrival, the sun was still up and I already saw the magic: the horses, the donkey, the quaint sleeping area, the rocking swings, the pool area!! But then the sun went down and all the colorful lights turned on! I was so relaxed and happy that I fell asleep on my yoga mat outside in the dirt at 9pm - in the middle of yoga! I took myself to bed and slept so peacefully to dessert nightlife and horse sounds. The sun rises in the direction the camp faces- I was woken up so gently by the first signs of light and proceeded to finish my yoga sesh. Spent the morning contemplating life on the hammock and visiting with the breathtaking horses and donkey. I cannot express how much I needed this and how thankful I am to have had this experience at the hummingbird ranch🤍

Host is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Explains everything well on arrival. It’s a nice lil horse ranch with great sunsets. Pool area is immaculately kept. Bathroom is easily accessible and shower is clean with good water pressure. It is windier down there so we kept a 4 man tent inside. More than enough space to leave the table in and cook still. Great place for stop thru’s or long weekend. Well lit at night if safety is a concern of yours.

Karla's place is ideally situated for anyone birdwatching in the sky islands region. Karla has a great set up for campers. We used the Cabana which got us out of the wind and parked our camper van next to it which was really convenient. The use of the pool and kitchen area was really handy. Karla is warm and generous and I would highly recommend staying at her place.

Nice friendly hosts. Don't pass up the Tour, you will learn a lot. Nice camping spot. They even bring a porta-potty to your spot and have water available if you need to fill up a jug.

The site is absolutely spotless! Karla met us at the gate and walked us around the property. It is quiet and secluded, although she has 2 cheeky horses nearby. One kicks the stall (see cheeky!) and if youre not familiar with the sound it can be jarring. The whole property is decorated with whimsy and an eye for color. we ended up throwing an air mattress in the cabana instead of hassling with a tent and were quite comfy. Highly recommend.

Beautiful space kept with care and talent by Karla. The garage with toilets, fridge and microwave makes a big difference. Our shelter was perfect to avoid the wind. There is also a nice pool ! We felt safe and welcomed.

Karla created a funky and comfortable little haven in the desert. Her care for people and her artistic flair as well as her handiness are obvious and a delight. She’s kind, peaceful, friendly and helpful. It’s glamping at its best. We stayed in the shelter and enjoyed being shielded from the winds and having plenty of space to cook and a little kitchen space to do dishes.
