Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime.

Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited.

This place was absolutely amazing! The views were beautiful, and we had the opportunity to meet Zed. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. The dogs were super friendly too, which made the experience even better. We stayed in the Bobcat area, and at night you could hear the lions and tigers, which made the experience unforgettable. You’re able to pick out the spot you want, which is a great touch. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back myself.

Bates Farm was a great place to stay. I booked a site later in the afternoon and I had a response from Mary confirming the booking almost immediately. The hosts were super polite and very helpful. Zed and Strider were amazing hosts! Our campsite was beautiful and the hiking trails on property were fun to explore. Zed and Strider asked us many times if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. They were very accommodating and attentive.
