Surrounded by Bankhead National Forest on Lewis Smith Lake, you’ll find 11 wooded acres with trail access to the lake and four additional forest trails. Along the way, you’ll discover occasional benches for quiet reflection amid the trees. We offer one rustic tent site featuring a 16’x16’ platform with power, water, Wi-Fi, a fire pit, and access to an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Guests are also welcome to relax on our large covered porch and watch the deer wander by. Conveniently located—just 10 minutes from the Houston Recreation Area with a boat ramp, 15 minutes from the Natural Bridge Recreation Area, and 30 minutes from the Sipsey Wilderness, also known as “The Land of 1,000 Waterfalls.”Site 1 is beautifully situated facing toward the Bankhead National Forest. 16’x16’ tent platform with outdoor furniture and swing for lounging. I absolutely loved our stay at Sarana. The hosts were so kind and generous, and they even let us stay in their RV when there was a thunderstorm one night. They have lots of equipment available, including a heater, fridge, fan, propane grill, and extension cables for use, as well as a fire pit. They have an extensive network of trails on the property, as well as lake access for swimming or hanging out. Sipsey wilderness and Bankhead National Forest are about 30-45 minutes away, so we had easy access to hiking and recreation activities when we weren't hanging out on the property. We loved our stay, and plan on coming back. If you are in the area and interested in meeting some of the loveliest hosts, you should definitely camp at Sarana!
