Roy and Sharon are absolutely amazing people. This was my first camping experience without my husband so I was a bit nervous at first. They are very kind and welcoming!! The property itself has trails to some amazing views and it’s a short drive to the trials of Bankhead and Sipsey. It’s complete serenity. No noise pollution you’d hear in the city, just bliss. They have several power outlets and wifi which made keeping in touch with family a breeze. The outdoor shower is another perk so you can wash the days sweat off. Honestly, leaving a review doesn’t give this site and the host justice. Reserve your spot and know you will be beyond satisfied. I’ve been gone one day and I’m already trying to figure out when I can go back.

How do I write a review that fully expresses what a magical retreat Sarana is... without spoiling the true treasures this experience provided? Hosts Sharon and Roy are both incredible humans, who have personally curated the grounds into a refuge of peace and tranquility. They, generously and gracefully, entertained my sons 1001 questions about the forest and all the animals they've seen. The shower is absolutely incredible. Period. We only stayed for one rainy night, and still came out feeling like we had a vacation, and met new lifelong friends. You can enjoy the serene peace of a nearby waterfall accessible by the property, or ask Roy about his sailing adventures, or Sharon about the birds you hear around...any which way, you will leave Sarana well 'fed', in every sense of the word. We can't wait to return for more excursions with our family. Don't miss this absolutely gem of a Hipcamp.

Beautiful spot. The hosts were great and very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much. Several trails to hike and our dog loved his stay as well. No complaints at all. We were very comfortable. Stay here if you can.

I absolutely loved our stay at Sarana. The hosts were so kind and generous, and they even let us stay in their RV when there was a thunderstorm one night. They have lots of equipment available, including a heater, fridge, fan, propane grill, and extension cables for use, as well as a fire pit. They have an extensive network of trails on the property, as well as lake access for swimming or hanging out. Sipsey wilderness and Bankhead National Forest are about 30-45 minutes away, so we had easy access to hiking and recreation activities when we weren't hanging out on the property. We loved our stay, and plan on coming back. If you are in the area and interested in meeting some of the loveliest hosts, you should definitely camp at Sarana!
