Such a beautiful and scenic place to camp. Very peaceful and quiet. The perfect place to catch a stunning sunset! The sights are spaced apart with enough privacy. Had fun fishing in the pond. The hosts were very hospitable. Definitely will stay again!

My pup and I had such a great time at this site. The hosts were so great and most importantly I felt super safe here. I like to do quite a bit on my own and safety is always at the top of my list. The property was beautiful and peaceful. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Thank you!

Wonderful property with gorgeous views! Very pleased and we had the entire place to ourselves because there was no one else staying. Lots of butterflies! Kristine & Sarah were very helpful and kind. Would stay here again. I do recommend bringing a shade tent, a couple of the sites have natural shade from trees. Ours did not, we had a shade tent so it was not an issue.

We had a great time hanging out by the pond fishing and taking in all the wildflowers and butterflies! We were greeted by a big King snake on our way to the porta potty, we spooked each other and he took off but he was beautiful! Porta potty was very clean and well maintained! Sites were fully booked for Labor Day weekend but we had so much privacy, loved how secluded the sites were! I will say the pond overlook site is on an incline so be prepared for sleeping at an angle. Overall a wonderful experience!

Lake City Campground is somewhat remote & quiet - just what my husband & I were looking for. The common area bathrooms & kitchen were clean & convenient. The proximity to Lake Jackson & a few other nearby areas of interest such as Finks Mill and Andalusia were an added bonus for this location. If you’re looking for no crowds but nearby activities, then this is an ideal campground.

This place is magical. Me, my guy & our German Shepherd were in need of some quiet relaxation. As soon as we arrived in the afternoon there was plenty around to explore starting with the natural spring pond surrounded my smooth stones. We enjoyed watching the fishes swim around.
As soon as the sunset began we were surrounded by brilliant pink and orange hues. Once the sunset and the moon started to rise we were mesmerized by twinkling lights from fire flies and serenaded by whippoorwills & frogs around the pond. After that we were able to get some great stargazing done. We even woke up to the most beautiful sunrise. Highly recommend this place.
Few other helpful details:
The portapotty was clean and well stocked, there is a trash can next to the portapotty which was also nice to not have to haul your trash out. The hosts were responsive, friendly, and gave clear instruction. It was easy to find this place and we had a level spot to car camp on. As with most places outside if you plan to walk around in the tall grass on the property make sure to tuck your pants into your socks because there were a couple of ticks on me. But that’s easily handled w deet.
Definitely plan to camp here again.

Such a lovely plot of land with amazing views!! Kristine met us upon arrival and led us to our camp spot. Super friendly host, clean porta-potty, well maintained plot with a fire pit. Wildflowers everywhere and stargazing was spectacular.
FYI for future campers: we had very spotty cell signal but that didn’t bother us since host was accessible in case of emergency.
Thank you! We’ll definitely be back!

Kristine/the hosts were superb! The meadow sites were beautiful and serene. We saw plenty of deer, turkeys, heard the whippoorwills! Even if we had steady rain and mist rolling through the hills for most the trip, we found plenty to do taking scenic drives around the area, hiking, or finding breweries in South Pittsburgh and Chattanooga. The site itself was well kept, meadow grasses were cut down (tick checks were still a must!) and it felt private (although we happened to be the only ones there this weekend!) We also forgot to pack our pot to boil water for coffee, and Kristine was kind enough to have someone run one over to us to borrow. Overall no regrets staying here!

Had a great time at Whipperwill Woods with my friend this weekend!
We were given plenty of information beforehand, had good directions to get there, then we were personally guided to our spot.
The campsite was spacious enough for 2 cars, a large tent, a canopy and the firepit and the porta potty/trash was a 20 second walk away with hand sanitizer stocked inside.
The view of the sunset was super nice and very scenic. There is a small bit of walking to do in the area but nothing huge. Still very pleasent. There is also small pond we drank our morning coffee by the following day and watched some tadpoles and a couple small fish.
The trip was very quiet and practically completely private. One other set of camping neighbors was a minute or so walk over but plenty of tall grass separated us, so it felt like just us two. There were also some turkeys and ducks on the way in.
Two super minor nitpicks. There are some very slight inclines here and there so it was a little tough getting a perfectly flat table, tent, etc set up but again, that's just nitpicking. The firewood provided (for a fee) was very smokey and didn't burn super well, so I recommend bringing your own. Otherwise I can't think of anything negative about my experience.
Over all I am more than satisfied with this short trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great view, good privacy, and the convenience of a nearby bathroom while still camping primitive.

Property was beautiful and had great views of the sunset! Added the firewood bundle and they brought it straight to our site. Site was primitive as described. Open site for a tent with a porta potty nearby. Kristine was so kind and helpful. She directed us to the trail on site and let us hold the baby goats! Would love to return sometime!

On arrival, the hosts were extremely inviting and so nice! The campsite itself was very spacious and pretty secluded. There was a nice little pond to fish in, a beautiful view of the sunsets, and you could see beautiful views of the valley below. There was a clean port a potty to use, a nice fire pit, and a trash can on the sight for us to use. They even invited us to come meet some baby goats, which might’ve honestly been the highlight of our trip haha. Chattanooga was about an hour drive, and Nashville was two hours, so be prepared for driving if you’re planning on doing anything outside of camping!

LOVED this campsite. We had the best time and it still felt private even with another campsite nearby. The location is BEAUTIFUL and the site we stayed at was perfect. We would absolutely come back. Fall is the best time to come stay here the leaves were beautiful!

This was a beautiful camping spot with nice views. Kristine and her family provided us extra water and wood. There were coyotes howling in the forest during night but nothing of concern as they never approached the camping site. Kids enjoyed roaming around during the day time and we took some great pictures.
The site itself was sufficiently spaced from the nearby camp and Porta was super clean.

The views were breathing during the sunset! This place was extremely peaceful and only near one other campsite. If you’re looking for an “off the radar” peace and quiet camping trip with great views, I highly recommend. Kristine was also a great host and made us feel very welcome! I would definitely stay again.
