Feel free to ask any questions, we will get back to you ASAP. Answers to the most common questions below... Yes, we an outdoor shower at cactus flower beach (our version of a beach with cold dunk tubs, shade trees, day bed cabaña and lounge chairs for when it's hot.) Yes, you can use a propane camp stove or cook at our common area bbq in front of the barn where we light a real wood fire for campers to socialize with us, other campers and visit our speakeasy. Yes, we provide propane for the propane fire pits. Yes, your dog can run off-leash. Yes, each site has a picnic table, umbrella, propane fire pit. Most sites have a hammock and hammock stand. Please pack your trash out there is a dumpster at the front gate entrance/exit for your trash. You can support our farm by buying eggs, hats, stickers, and other items, all for sale in the barn. Campout in a beautifully renovated vintage trailer. Bring your own bedding or sleeping bags and pillows. There is a full size bed in the front of the Airstream comfortable for 1 or two under 6 ft tall people. The dining table folds down into a table comfortable for shorter humans or children. This trailer is set up for DRY camping. The lights run of solar and their is a porta potty about 100 feet from the trialer. The refrigerator is to store non perishables (bring a cooler and ice) also consider bringing a camp stove to cook on or cook at the barn communal area where we have BBQs to use. You may also cook over the Propane Fire Pit anything on a skewer over the flames or pots and pans on the flames... Feel free to ask any questions, we will get back to you ASAP. Before you ask: Yes, we have two outdoor showers. Yes, you can use a propane camp stove or cook at our common area bbq in front of the barn where we light a real wood fire for campers to socialize with us, other campers and visit our speakeasy. I love this van so much! I drive it once a week to keep it moving. It sleeps two adults comfortably up top. The bench seat folds down for more sleeping. Ideally this is great for just two people. It is vintage with new beautiful upholster and curtains. Bring all your own bedding and pillows. The fridge is good for dry storage. Bring your own water and a wash tub for washing dishes outside, etc. etc. I am open to selling it for the right price. A new paint job would be nice but If I sell it someone may want to paint it a different color. If I could get 50k and discount 5k for paint so 45k I might consider selling it. We had a fantastic time at Freedog. Sierra & Darrin have created a special experience for their guests. We upgraded our campsite to the hillside cabin and the views were amazing. Hanging out down at the barn enjoying the World Cup around the fire pit was epic. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.

We had a lovely stay at Sierra and Darin’s ranch! My 5 year old picked the spot on a deck with the best view! We really enjoyed the goats and she got to feed the chickens. I loved taking a quick dip in the mineral bath before we left! Would definitely come back!

A wonderful night at Freedog Farms

2. Camp Out @ Freedog Farms
We had a brief but fun stay at Freedog Farms with our 6-year-old and pup. Sierra and Darin are warm and welcoming hosts, who almost immediately had our dog roaming happily, our daughter feeding the chickens (and harvesting eggs) and the adults sipping beers from Darin's impressive taps. A free ATV tour of the property to see the sights and pick our site and was an added bonus, and Darin graciously swung by in the evening to make sure we had the fire pit lit and were enjoying ourselves. The landscape is beautiful, and the space is as private — or social — as you like. I'm only bummed we couldn't stay for the Saturday night barbecue. Highly recommend a visit!

We had the best experience at Freedog Farms! Sierra and Darrin are exceptional hosts and the property is beautiful. Our dogs had the time of their lives. Enjoying our evening at the community barbecue/bar area was a highlight: cooking and communing with other campers and their pups, hanging out with our hosts and listening to music under the stars was second to none. We will absolutely be back!

Sierra & Darin’s spot is the perfect stop over if you’re gunning it from Los Angeles to Big Sur + SF. Camping sites are spaced out with every option/configuration you could want. The dogs on property are a big plus! & the welcome cocktail/drink was a friendly touch.

We just got back from Free Dog Farms and already can't stop talking about it. Sierra and Darin are the absolute best. They make you feel like you've known them for years within the first five minutes. What we loved most is that they actually encourage your dogs to run off leash. Our dog was in full heaven mode the entire trip; running, exploring, living his best life. It's so hard to find places that are truly dog-friendly and not just tolerating your pet. Free Dog Farms is the opposite of that. They LOVE dogs there and it shows. We were treated like family the whole time. No awkward "checkout is at 11" stuff. We're already talking about when we're going back. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Hi I stayed here one night and Sierra and Darren were absolutely amazing. They showed me and my dog Forrest the best hospitality and even set up the cold dunks for both of us. Would highly recommend and coming back soon!

Freedog Farms was exactly what we were looking for. Sierra and Darin are incredible hosts who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a welcome drink and a fun tour of the property, which immediately set the tone for a great stay. The property itself is fantastic and offers something for every type of camper, whether you're in an RV, trailer, tent, or simply looking for the perfect place to hang a hammock. The setting is peaceful, the amenities are thoughtfully done, and the night sky was absolutely filled with stars. We had a lovely weekend and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug, relax, and enjoy a beautiful slice of the outdoors.

We were looking for a place where our dog could truly be a dog—off leash, free to explore, run, and enjoy the outdoors—and this property far exceeded our expectations. Our campsite was spacious and perfect for our trailer, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, and they shared wonderful local recommendations, including a nearby winery and a beautiful short hike to a waterfall that we thoroughly enjoyed. One of our favorite parts of the stay was exploring the property each morning and evening with our dog. She absolutely couldn't wait to visit the goats and chickens every day and seemed to make new friends wherever she went. The entire experience was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we had hoped for—and then some. We left with great memories and one very happy dog. We can't wait to come back again!

What an amazing find and what awesome hosts. Sierra and Darin were so welcoming and what a special place! We were excited to have a communal grill space, and let our kids and dogs roam free. Our boys loved the razor tour, the dunk tanks, goat and chickens, and of course the propane fire pit evenings at our site with the most incredible sunset view. Also if you don’t have camping gear - they have you covered with blow up tents, Westi vans, and trailers!! We’ll definitely be back!

My little dog and I had a wonderful stay at Sierra and Darin’s beautiful property. Darin and Sierra are so friendly and welcoming. The vibe at the camp is chill and feel-good. Location is amazing—quick drive to Santa Barbara and also to Santa Ynez Valley wine country. We will definitely be back.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. Darin is the nicest guy ever and super passionate about what him and Sierra have created, it’s really inspiring. He gave us the coolest tour of the property when we got there. We loveddddd his squad of dogs and cuddling with them by the fire. We were so sad we were only staying one night — we will definitely come back and stay longer. Make sure you hike up to the deck, absolutely GORGEOUS views 💞 Can’t recommend this place enough, it’s really really special.

We had such a wonderful time camping here with our two dogs. The hosts Darin & Sierra were so welcoming and great people. The campsites were nice with the picnic table, umbrella and propane fire pit. Hanging out with the hosts and other guests at the barn and community fire pit having a few drinks and laughs was fun. If you’re hesitant to book don’t be, we definitely will be going back soon.

Freedom Farms is an incredible place. It’s so peaceful, beautiful, and inviting. The campsites are spread out and very comfortable (propane fire pits put out a ton of heat). Darin and Sierra are the best hosts imaginable - it’s no surprise they built such a great place. We will be back for sure.

Free Dog Farms is a fantastic camp! Darren and Sierra are truly gracious hosts who know the true meaning of hospitality. Make sure you take time to meet Bandit the canine who puts the dog in Free Dog Farms. I will definitely camp here again and I suggest anyone passing through the area to do the same!
