Yarriambiance (noun), Yar-ri-am-bi-ance: "A feeling or mood associated with fresh air, open spaces, big skies, stunning sunsets, starry nights, open fires and the sounds of nature, on the banks of the Yarriambiack Creek" Do you want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, the frustration of traffic congestion, from noise and pollution? Does open space, fresh air, and the peace and quiet of nature sound appealing? Well, come and experience the ‘Yarriambiance’ of our unique rural escape. It is not far off the main highway, but far enough that you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. You will experience dusty back roads, open plains and the starry skies of rural Australia, yet you will only be 20 minutes away from a bustling regional city (Horsham). Around the property there are many old historic farm buildings, including an original 'boundary riders' hut (circa 1870's). The Yarriambiack Creek is the western boundary of the property, and is a haven for birds and wildlife such as kangaroos & wallabies. Ancient river redgums run along the creek which provide for nice shady spots in summer. The creek relies on seasonal rainfall, and when running, is deep enough for swimming or paddling around in a kayak. When dry, the creek bed makes a fantastic walking track. If you are looking for a unique family holiday, or you are an artist and want to do some songwriting or painting, or just need to get out of the rat race and chill out, then this could be just the place for you. 10 mins to Murtoa, 15 mins to the Dooen Hotel, 20 mins to Horsham, 30 mins to Warracknabeal, 40 mins to the Grampians or Mt Arapilies. A perfect base to explore the renowned Silo Art Trail, Murtoa Stick Shed, local lakes and waterways, state and national parks, and many other regional attractions. But if you are simply into nature or hiking, then just head north or south along the creek, and you will be able to walk for hours and take in the unique scenery. Please note, the property is 'pet friendly' but we respectfully ask that pets are not taken inside of the accommodation.

This site comes with the absolute works, including the kitchen sink! The site is exclusively private, and we only take one booking at a time. Once you book the site, it is all yours, whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, a family, or a group of friends (up to a maximum of 12 people.). You will not be sharing the site with any other campers. The nightly fee secures the whole site and covers the first 2 guests. Additional guests are $10 per night. Children under 5 are free.  We have room for up to 4 vehicles (vans/RVs/camper trailers/tents) with decks, irrigated turf and wildlife pond for you to enjoy the 'Yarriambiance'.  An amenities block (bathroom/laundry), power to site (4 x 15 amp), and rubbish disposal service are all included. Dump point available. Mains water (non drinking) available for connecting to vans, which is suitable for showers and washing. Drinking water tap, hot water, sink, 4 burner BBQ, campfire hotplate, camp oven and cooking utensils available at site. A fire pit will keep you warm in winter, a misting system will keep you cool in summer. All of this is based around an irrigated turf area, which is green all year round. A swing set for the kids, an outdoor hammock and swing chair for relaxing in, are all located on site. Campfires allowed only in designated pits. No campfires on Total Fire Ban days. BYO firewood. Wood collection from around the property is strictly prohibited. Guests come to the property for the peace and quiet, and the sounds of wildlife. This site is not suitable for group parties. "Mayfair V2.0" Tiny House

Mayfair (v2.0) is named in honour of the original tiny house, built in the mid 1950’s by Syd and Ed Drendel (your host's father and uncle). They named it the ‘Mayfair’ after a swanky Melbourne hotel that they stayed in. It was a ‘portable hut’, which later became known as ‘Fishermans Hut’, and resided on the banks of Lake Albacutya and then Lake Hindmarsh, in north west Victoria. The Mayfair (v2.0) is a 21st century version of the original Mayfair It aims to make you feel as comfortable as possible, whilst remaining off-grid. A loft bed, gas hotplate, shower and wood burning heater are just some of the features that will make you feel at home. A flushing toilet with a porcelain bowl is provided for extra guest comfort. The holding tank contains a biological additive which is environmentally friendly and septic safe. This additive eliminates unpleasant smells, reduces gas build up and stimulates the breakdown of waste matter & toilet paper. Outside, you will have your own secluded area, including an irrigated turf area, a fire-pit and seats and bench tops carved out of some of the redgums that have come to ground. In the summer months, sit under the shade of the magnificent redgums and take in the sunset, or admire the full moon filtering through the branches above you. In the winter months, snuggle around the campfire and watch the flames flicker and dance as you contemplate the simple things in life, and possibly toast some marshmallows. Please note that the creek may be dry (it depends on seasonal rainfall), but there are many waterholes not far away that are worth exploring. When dry, the creek makes a great walking trail.  The predominant sounds will be those of the local birdlife, from early morning to early evening. And when the creek has water in it, the chorus sounds of frogs will fill the air every evening/night.

Greenhills Tavern

The Greenhills Tavern started off it's life in the early 1900's and was used as a farm workshop. In the early 2000's, your host Paul decided that he was going to restore it into a workable shed for storage. It then became a 'mens shed'. Then it became a music studio. Finally it morphed into the "Greenhills Tavern", after 15 years of work. Part rustic shack, part log cabin, part retro hideway, it has been restored lovingly, using up-cycled material found from around the farm, and the local area. Some of the original bush posts still feature as supports in the living area. Pressed tin has been used for the fireplace surrounds, as well as featuring in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The main living area interior walls have been clad with the floor boards of an old barn. The ceiling has been clad with the original corrugated iron that came off the main homestead on the property. The living area comes complete with an open fireplace, kitchen, dining & bathroom facilities, as well as mod-cons like Wi-Fi, netflix & audio system. In the bedroom, exposed trusses feature from an old farm shed. The walls have been clad with split pine logs and used lining boards, while the ceiling is a natural timber finish. The exterior cladding of the bedroom is the original corrugated iron off the 'chaff' shed, which used to stand next door to the stable. Both buildings have been fully insulated, so they are cosy and warm in winter, and cool in summer, with split system air conditioning, gas heating and the open fireplace complimenting the temperature control of the rooms. The outdoor verandah area consists of a 4 burner BBQ, outdoor bar, (which used to be a counter out of a bank), a chiminea for those cold nights, and an irrigated grassed area with an outdoor setting sitting under a peppercorn tree.

"The International" Tiny House

"The International" started it's life on a vegetable farm near Kyneton, (central Victoria) in 1971, and belonged to the Russo family. Affectionately named 'Janet' (after the spouse), she toiled tirelessly as a farm workhorse for many years. She was put out to pasture after some 40 years of labour, and rested in a paddock for several years.  A certified 'Jack of All Trades' by the name of Matt, came across 'Janet', and proceeded to convert her from a working truck, to a leisure truck. After four years of toil, "The International' Tiny House Truck was born. She made her final journey in December 2020 from central Victoria, to her current resting place in Jung, in the heart of the Wimmera. This tiny house has room for the whole family. A queen bed, complete with side tables and bookshelves sits atop the truck cab. A double bed mattress is located on the third level, and is a great spot for the kids, right up in the ceiling of the tiny house. The couch on the ground floor also converts to a sofa bed if required. ** Please note that the queen bed is fully made up, but if using the additional double bed or sofa bed, you would need to supply your own sleeping bags and pillows. ** Whilst technically not off-grid, 'The International' is powered by a mains power supply. This electricity is sourced from the farm power supply, of which there is a vast array of solar panels on shedding roofs around the property, which is either feeding back into the grid, or into the tiny house.   A full gas oven and hotplate, standard size fridge/freezer, flushing toilet, shower and wood burning pot belly stove are just some of the features that will make you feel at home. The flushing toilet with a porcelain bowl is provided for extra guest comfort. Outside, you will have your own deck area with an outdoor setting and unique pot belly firepit. The deck is an old farm trailer, which has been parked next to 'The International' to extend your living area to the outside.

The photos give a real good indication of what the site is like. Easy and clear directions and really lovely area. Plenty of space. We all had an incredible time. Some flies but not the bitey kind but good with bring fly nets / hats. The camels were a fun daily visit and the misting system on hot days was perfect. Perfect for the small to medium group when wanting a little extra luxury. Even though I switch off when camping there was still mobile phone coverage if you needed it.

Great easy campsite to chill with family and kids, has all the amenities you could need and more. Very well-thought out site, clean, grassy, dust-free, mozzie-free, sensor/motion lights in the trees light the pathway at night so you can't get lost, camels were entertaining, decking was great for step up into trailer, kids loved testing all 3 firepits, the trees were great to block wind, overall great site to just chill.

"Mayfair V2.0" Tiny House
We loved staying at the tiny cabin. This is our second stay at Mayfair and it gets better every time. The location is unparalleled, right in front of a creek. The facilities are top notch - we love the fire stove - sparkling clean and comfortable. There is plenty to do around, from hiking to antiques shopping. The people are friendly and absolutely everything is worth the trip, not least our hosts. Thanks to Paul and his family for keeping this magic place running. Make sure you bring some carrots for Gobi and Mo, the camels. They love them!

"The International" Tiny House
Our family loved the uniqueness of the truck. It had everything we needed. We loved the attention to detail eg. The pre-prepared wood in the pot belly stove. Well stocked with crockery etc. Queen bed was comfy. Can imagine how nice it would be to sit out in the deck on a warmer evening to watch the sunset. Loved it!

I loved the way Gold Deluxe was set up. , Hot water for washing up, and drinkable water was a definite plus. The host was wonderful meeting us at night to ensure we could find the camp-site. The camp-site itself was secluded and peaceful. Would stay again.

Our stay at Paul's was fantastic. Paul was there to greet us even though we were running very late due to mechanical issues. The site setting was peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and we had all the creature comforts we needed, plus lots of space in a bush setting. I totally recommend camping or taking your caravan to stay at the Yarriambiance creekside site.

We stayed at creekside camping recently and really enjoyed the peaceful setting. The site overlooks a dry creek bed with beautiful gum trees and lots of birdlife. There’s a small pond right at the campsite that attracted birds and other wildlife, which was lovely to watch throughout the day. The campsite is well set up with hot and cold running water, a kitchen sink, BBQ, fire pits, and solar lighting. We had 4 power outlets allowing. The bathroom was comfortable, with good hot showers and a proper toilet, which made the stay more convenient without losing the bush feel. Paul, the host, was easy to deal with — responsive to booking messages and quick to answer any follow-up questions we had by text. Our dog also really enjoyed the stay — plenty of space to explore and sniff around. This was our second time here, and out of all our stays on Hipcamp, creekside camping is our favourite so far. It’s a quiet spot, but still close to nearby towns — about 20 minutes from Horsham, with the Dooen pub and Murtoa less than 10 minutes away. Handy if you need supplies or feel like a pub meal. A good option if you’re after a low-key bush stay with comfort.

Second time staying here and just as fantastic as the first! It’s always so peaceful, spotless, and the perfect spot to unwind after a hectic work week. The fire pits (yes, three of them! 😊) are a real highlight, especially appreciated on those freezing nights. The bathroom is immaculate, with hot water and a clean toilet, can’t go wrong with that! Plenty of space for our dog to roam and have a good run around. Paul is genuinely welcoming, always happy to have a chat and help with anything. We’ll definitely be back again! Thanks Paul and Keren!

We loved our stay at the Yarriambiance creekside deluxe campsite! The campsite was very well equipped with a bbq, sink, electricity, hot water etc, and only a short walk up the driveway to the ensuite. Not to mention all the beautiful little luxurious touches like the hammock, fairy lights and swing set! Such a serene location, it was magic waking up to the sounds of birds each morning, and watching the stars in the sky at night. A highlight of the trip was getting to feed the resident camels - such cool animals! We will definitely be planning to come back to this little slice of paradise.

Upon arrival we set up and not long after, Paul ventured down to meet us. He was incredibly welcoming & went over everything with us that the site offers as well as activities to do in the area. The site is clean & very well maintained. Electricity & water is avaliable which is fabulous as well as the private bathroom that we could use. The spot is private and the grass area is perfect for relaxing on some camp chairs. There is an added swing set for younger children. The camels were a huge hit! Absolutely loved them! Thank you Paul, we intend on coming back!

This was our second time staying at this campsite, and it’s still the best we’ve ever been to! The owner is absolutely lovely warm, welcoming, and super helpful. The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the peaceful privacy, the beautiful wildlife, and of course, the friendly camels who made our mornings extra special! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable camping experience. We’ll definitely be back again!

Paul's property was nothing short of amazing! The facilities at the hipcamp were the best we've ever had for stay. From the amenities block, to the entire layout and thought that went into the place. Could not recommend Paul's place any higher! Would be ideal for large groups and multiple vans. Paul was extremely welcoming, friendly & was more than willing to assist with any questions. 10/10 :)

Loved staying at Yarrambience, the set up was amazing, really user friendly, amazing amentities. Would highly recommend to young families. Wildlife spotting was also fantastic there was a tawny frogmouth who visited the site each night, lots of blue tongue lizards, kookaburras and even 2 camels!

This place is an absolute gem! Everything you need in a beautiful setting and a great host. Gorgeous Tawny Frogmouths and a wallaby who came to drink in the pond. Misters on the hot afternoons and lush grass for lazing about on. Clean shower and toilet and hot water and a sink!! Doesn’t get much better - will definitely be back 😁

We had an amazing camping experience at this campsite. The patch of green grass was perfect for picnics, and the solar fairy lights created a magical atmosphere in the evening. We loved having access to a 4-burner BBQ and running hot water, which made our camping trip feel more like a glamping experience. The power board was a lifesaver, allowing us to stay connected and work if needed. The kids absolutely loved the ninja course and feeding the camels our leftovers. We'll definitely be back for more adventures!

An excellent spot for camping and unwinding. The cooking equipment is well-equipped, and there’s a good water supply (hot for dishwashing and cold for drinking). The bathroom and toilet are comfortable and clean, with plenty of space for the dog to run around. The lawn is well-maintained and tidy, and the location is easy to access. The hosts were friendly and provided helpful information about using the camp while also respecting your privacy. We’ll definitely be returning and will bring more friends to enjoy the space. Absolutely beautiful spot for camping and so well set up, we could have stayed longer and will very likely be back! Loved the swing set for kids and the peacefulness of lying in the hammock or sitting in the swing seat reading, so many birds, and we loved meeting the friendly camels!

"The International" Tiny House
We were a group of 8, with 6 of us staying at the Delux Gold campsite and two staying at this cabin. Distance between the two were close enough to stay comfortably, and the cabin was in excellent condition with all amenities very clean and well prepared. Paul came to welcome us at check in and to explain the use of the cabin and toilet. Had a very comfortable stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay in this area.

This spot was amazing! We were already expecting great things but when we arrived everything was even better than our expectations. Paul and Keren had the tiny house set up with everything that you could think of. The few things we forgot on the way up (shampoo and a bottle opener) we quickly realised were waiting for us at the accommodation. They’ve clearly put a lot of love and thought into providing a great experience for all. Our favourite part was probably getting the fires going, both the outdoor campfire and the indoor fire heater. Both had firewood ready for us to use and easy to follow instructions which made the house whole process a breeze! To sum up, I couldn’t recommend this place enough, the perfect spot for a cozy little getaway!

Paul is a very responsive host who assisted us with all our enquires. The land is very beautiful especially when the sun is out. Unfortunately our whole group weren’t able to make the trip, as it would have been fabulous to have additional people in a quiet location.

We loved Yarrieambiance, it was a beautiful, tranquil spot to spend a few days trying out our new caravan. Our doggos loved it too, being off lead, rolling in the grass and sniffing all the scents. Facilities were fantastic. A great stay for campers wanting to relax and spend time in nature. We visited the Grampians and he little desert during our stay which were a lovely drive out. Bathroom was great, clean and comfortable.
