Local history & great for kids!
The Duffholme property holds a fair bit of local historical significance, just ask Rob, he will be more than happy to share. We didn’t meet Denise as she was interstate but we were made to feel more than welcome. Duffholme is set on the stretch of road between Mitre And Gymbowen.
We woke to roosters crowing and native bird song. A great space for a fire all day during the cooler months, with facility to cook.
Mitre rock and Mount Arapiles only a 20 and 30 minute drive away respectively, the location is perfect for those who like us want to hike and take the kids for a little scramble. As well as keen rock climbers who want to make the most of the amenities,. A hot shower before bed is always a good thing!
Plenty of opportunities to learn about the area plus Rob’s local knowledge means there is lots to keep little minds growing. As well as a swing set and trampoline to keep kids active.
Enjoy wanders around the property to see the farm animals including sheep, goats, geese, chooks, alpacas and Banjo the dog. As well as lots of native wildflowers in season.
Toilet and shower facilities are rustic and quaint, clean and tidy. Toilet paper showed up when needed and the shower was hot. Facilities are well lit, however you will need head torches for the walk over on those nights when not even the moon can shine through the clouds.

We spent four nights at Duffholme campground and enjoyed it very much. Our hosts, Denise and Rob, were friendly and helpful. Bathroom and kitchen were very clean. We appreciated the hot shower after rock climbing and Mountain biking at Mt Arapiles. The kitchen was very well-equipped. Families with children would love having lots of space to explore and play.

Absolutely amazing stay. Denise and Ron are so friendly and welcoming. There is a communal fridge/stove/kitchen to use and the dining hall is great to escape the heat and flies indoors. Hot water in the showers too! Watch the sunrise with the sheep at the far end of the property and camp under the trees closer to the kitchen and toilets. Perfect setup. Horsham is only 20km away. We got to pat the goats, meet the cattle and play with the 3 dogs. This property is peaceful and private. Thank you guys so much for the best New Years ever!

We stayed longer than we had planned because Rob and Denise’s land is just perfect. It’s nice and quiet and there is lots of space, you can pick your own spot on arrival and there is lots to choose from. Private, close to amenities or firepit, sunny or shady. The kids (13, 11 and 8) didn’t want to leave either. They enjoyed themselves on the trampoline, see-saw and small play equipment. Or walking around the property looking at the goats, geese and chickens. The owners dogs are very friendly and well behaved. The amenities are very clean, although sometimes there was no toilet paper, but just bring your own to be sure. The shower is fantastic. The kitchen is fully equipped and nice to hang out in when you don’t want to be outside. There is lots to do in the surroundings, we loved the local pool in Goroke on hot days or swimming in the river or lakes. It’s a central place to explore Western Victoria. Horsham is the closest bigger town with shops like Coles, Target and Bunnings, etc. The local pub in Natimuk serves good meals. Rob and Denise are great hosts and very friendly and helpful.

Very nice camping spot. We had a camper trailer set by the fire, in the lovely bushland. Fantastic hot shower and toilet facilities. Wonderful property to walk around with the native flowers and local history. Highly recommend staying here.
