Welcome to western Victoria, the land of billabongs and jolly old swagmen. Not too far from Ararat, this property consists of open farm land with a dry creek and trees located around the boundary. We are very close to the Grampians National Park and the views of the sandstone Grampian mountains at sunset are a must see. This region features beautiful wildflowers and lots of wildlife including echidnas and wallabies. In the evenings you can gaze at the milky way as you sit and chat around the campfire. Bring your pet dog and go bushwalking. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water and firewood supply. Fresh water can be obtained from Pomonal Hall. Nearby, the townships of Moyston and Pomonal both have general stores for all your supply needs. Be sure to visit Halls Gap and the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, which provides information on local Aboriginal history and rock art. Great spot! Heaps of room to set up away from anyone else, nice flat area and a good location to base yourself. Right near a creek so lots of birdsong and frogs at night. Slightly tricky entrance if towing, not a lot of room between the gate and the road, but that’s just nitpicking. Highly recommended.

Convenient Grampians Base

Miller's Landing
We spent four nights at Miller’s Landing in our trusty old camper trailer on a last-minute June trip to the Grampians. We had the place completely to ourselves, which was a bonus—especially for our dog, who enjoyed roaming freely in the fenced area. The location was really convenient: close enough to Hall’s Gap for day trips, and with easy access to supplies in Stawell or Ararat. Although the site is on a road, we hardly noticed any traffic noise at night. All up, it was a solid base for exploring the area.

Great camping areas, spacious and well set out & comfortable. Easy access for caravans, rooftops and campers. Fire pits and wood available on site, Best part was the view early morning and evenings staring at the backdrop of the Wineries and easy drive to up to the Grampians made this a great camping spot

We spent a family Easter at Millers landing, our site was perfect with beautiful mountain views. Whilst there were several other camps on the property, they were far enough away for it to still feel quite private. It is only a short drive to many of the local attractions also. It is certainly value for money and we would definitely recommend.

I felt this a little closer to the road than I was expecting. There were also more people at this location than I thought there would be. It was good to be accessible to the Grampians, Stawell and other sites around. We may have had a different experience if the friends we were expecting to come with us had done so. We recognised that we could have stayed elsewhere cheaper if we had known it was only two of us. That is my problem, not the hosts.

A nice property with plenty of space for multiple groups to be there at once. The pin for the gate is about 500m away from the entry to the property but Ross was great and gave me a call the day before to explain directions and everything

Miller’s Landing was a beautiful spot to camp for the night. The sunset was gorgeous over the mountains and there was a family of sheep grazing the field. There were some lovely wineries nearby and a short drive to the Grampian National Park. I would definitely recommend staying there!

Great spot to stay if you are planning on visiting Halls Gap and wanting to do walks in the Grampians. Very peaceful overnight & lots of space for our kids to run around. Thanks for having us Ross.

We loved Millers Landing as a base of operations for a couple of days - it was central to everything while still feeling rural. Plenty of flat open space for our toddler to run wild, and beautiful views of the mountains. Ross was on the property while we were there and was very friendly without being intrusive.

Ross is an amazing host and easily contactable. We both are really glad that we stayed at Miller’s landing because it was very private and views were spectacular. You can hear vehicle sounds, but it didn’t bother us at all. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every bit of our stay.

Overall we had a great stay, very private but was difficult to find,we arrived to the area at 9pm and couldn't find it or get in touch with Ross because his phone died. Besides that the site is big and clean .

Ross was really good to deal with and gave us a rundown before our stay. Good size block and well kept. Nice and private; there was another group camping and didn’t even know they were there. Quick 15min drive to the halls gap zoo.

A lovely campsite perfectly located at the base of the Grampians. We especially enjoyed the red sunrise colours illuminating the mountains and spotting wildlife. Would definitely recommend staying here

Host was very kind in providing firewood and clear directions in how to locate the property. Whilst there was other guest camping the property was big enough that we still had privacy and noise was not an issue. Lovely surrounds including nearby wineries.

Beautiful property. loved being far enough from other groups, it felt like we were alone. Wood to use for the fire! Our two dogs loved it. Have already recommended to friends if they’re looking to explore the Grampians, without being around the crowds.
