Our campsites are on a private horse property with pristine creek access and a beautiful spring. We are dog friendly. Enjoy beautiful grassed areas overlooking the property, or down by the creek, accessible to all campers. Please note that property access is generally suited to 4WDs, with some areas ok if you're towing a camping trailer with high clearance. Please check with us if unsure or if the weather has not been favourable. Please be mindful of our neighbours when driving to our property as there is a short distance of dirt, please drive slow not to kick up dust past the neighbouring houses.  When you arrive at our property please be mindful of small children and animals roaming the grounds.  There are pristine creek views from most of the camp sites, meaning you will be waking to the lovely sound of running water. There is also a beautiful spring for swimming.  We are dog friendly, and can offer pet sitting.  We ask you to please text us your arrival times the night before you are coming to make sure your arrival time will suit and to check on the weather for access. Children under 7 stay for free.

This campground is on private a property. Cattle, Horses and other various animals roam the grounds. Pristine creek views from most of the camp sites waking to the sound of running water. Platypus Corner Back In Site.
We had a fantastic stay despite the rainy weather. Rowan moved us to a different spot in case the rain and road got worse, it was very thoughtful. We had a secluded spot just for us, above the creek, it was a very short walk to a nice swim spot with plenty of shade. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a beautiful place near Innisfail

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is beautiful, with a lovely creek and plenty of space to explore. We especially liked the cows wandering past our site in the late afternoon – they made for very welcome company. The campsites are well spaced apart, so it felt private and peaceful (we really saw or heard other campers). Everything was very well maintained and the host was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Awesome private bush camp! We loved this place spotted some big barra n jungle perch in the river and a super cute echidna, our 16ft caravan n 4wd made it in easy. Wouldnt recommend if its wet as its a steep drive down n out and would suggest talking to Rowan if in doubt who is a awesome host.

Camping here was absolutely wonderful! Host was helpful, happy and chatty. Beautiful piece of land with no one nearby! Loved the cows roaming throughout the paddock and the spectacular views!

Such a beautiful spot, we enjoyed 5 nights relaxing and enjoying the views, fishing in crystal clear waters. Short trip into town for topping up supplies and a beer at local pub.

Rowan hosts a great spot in Mena Creek, we had the whole paddock to ourselves with the creek flowing down the bank. Dogs were happy, quiet and peaceful place to perch for a couple of nights! Rowan super helpful and a phone call away if we needed help with anything.

Property was stunning and camping by the creek was so relaxing! Kids enjoyed Kayaking and exploring the property. Would highly recommend 4WDs in wet weather, Rowan was very helpful.

What a spot! Great view over the creek, quiet and private. We didn't see any other humans around the camp site during our 4 day stay. We enjoyed taking a dip down at the old crossing, plus we had a fish. A magnificent rainforest experience. You're also in the heart of sugarcane country with the Johnstone Sugar Mill being passed on your journey into Innisfail. For us out of towners, having a beer at the Critereon Hotel as Sugar cane trains rumble up the main street 5 meters from your table was pretty cool.

Mena Creek Retreat- spring creek.
Had a great couple days at Mena Creek, although we experienced huge amounts of rain while we were there it did not spoil the very nice property there and Sarah went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and dry! Will definitely be seeing us again!

Mena Creek Retreat- The High Bank
Stayed at the High Bank with a family group which was absolutely perfect. Brilliant spot to stay with children and pets - so much freedom. Sarah & Bill are great hosts and provided unbelievable help to guests after heavy rain. Very highly recommended.

Mena Creek Retreat- spring creek.
Great spot and Sarah and family are great people and very accommodating. The creek is great and we had fun paddling through the rapids with kayaks. Lots to do. Plenty of space for kids to run around. Camp sites are well spaced to allow people their own space. Will definitely be back.

Mena Creek Retreat- spring creek.
Lovely spot to spend a couple of nights with the kids and our dogs. They loved the cows and horses that visited our site. The creek was great to cool off. Loved having our own campfire so we could cook a delicious roast pork in the camp oven. Sarah's hospitality was second to none.

Our group had a wonderful time at Mena Creek. Bill and Sarah are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Such a beautiful little piece of paradise. Will be back :)

Awesome area right on the creek bank. Plenty of animals roaming around to keep the kids amused. Host was friendly and very accommodating, we couldn't have asked for more.

Great camping right by the water, my boy loved the horses and cows coming down, Sarah was amazing and super informative. Would recommend spotlight tour was really good and will definitely be back

We had a great time camping, had the place to ourselves. Beautiful property with running creeks and a safe swimming hole. It was close to all the local attractions that we wanted to visit as well. Sarah came to the rescue with a generator for hire when we had battery issues with our camper. Would definitely visit again.

We had a nice relaxing stay down by the creek. Lots of shade, no mossies and nice grassy area that the camp area is set in. Sarah was welcoming and easygoing. Would stay again :)

We loved camping on Sarah's land (adults and kids). Sarah was extremely accommodating assisting in moving our dates (due to a death in the family) and helped when our generator died. Sarah was away for most if our stay but we were left in a the beautiful and helpful hands of Nat. Definitely would come back again.
