The site is sorta private. It appears the trail to the quarry, which goes through the site, might be a disc-golf trail-we found left over Frisbees and 4 frisbee-golf “towers,” several of the towers are around the quarry. Not sure if it was their “porta-potty,” because the HipCamp description says there isn’t one, but their were two poop buckets-one with sawdust (covered) and one already half full with poop (uncovered) next to a small pop-up tent lying on the ground covered in dirt and rain water (it hadn’t rained for days, so those puddles were mosquito incubators). There were several rusty dirty grates scattered around the firepit, which was full of trash. The picnic table is cracking and breaking. An old torn tarp at the foot of a tree, and more rusty grates on the path to the site. The path from the parking spot to the site is about a 3-4 minute walk down a steepish hill, which means it’s a 3-4 minute walk uphill to the car. Dogs barking all night, but couldnt tell where they were barking from. It’s in the woods so lots of the usual expected mosquitoes.
It is easier to drive to the quarry, so we did, and this time of year it is very dirty and shallow and warm, with trash, broken chairs, and abandoned pool noodles and paddleboats. The canoe is broke.
The owners also rent more expensive stays on the site, so Im guessing that’s where they’re focusing their energy. Pro for the campsite is it’s relatively cheap.
We didnt see the owners at all.

Great private space. What a wonderful quiet weekend getaway with a great way to be shielded from the rain. Despite downpours we stayed pretty dry! We enjoyed the hike to the Quarry!

Needs to be cleaned before guest arrive , there was a mouse nest in the bowl on the table , the box for the fan was left in the room , the garbage of the pervious renters wasn’t taken care of so a animal had gotten into it and spread it all about . They owners where away but they should make sure the care taker comes before guest arrive , specially for the price they charged .

Geodesic Dome at Quarry Brook
This was a cozy site that I could see enjoying in the winter. The inside of the dome was nice, but very hot without air ventilation in the summer. The little kitchenette was cute and the outhouse was clean, and it was peaceful being immersed in the woods. The paths were a bit overgrown and I had a hard time navigating through some of the woods. More instructions before getting to the site and losing service would be helpful. Do prepare for a little bit of a trek downhill and back with your cart full of your belongings!

We had an overall good stay at the dome. We camp in our own tent quite often but with a 3 month old we wanted to treat ourselves to a “glamping experience”.
For almost $500 for a 3 day / 2 night stay I would have liked to have had the path to the dome and the beginning of the trail to the quarry be better maintained. The grass, weeds, etc. with up to my knees - while I understand nature and camping, having a thorn bush and overgrown area didn’t allow us to comfortably have an outdoor fire our entire trip because our clothes or dogs got caught. The picnic table was broken and again not maintained under neath.
We were sold on the photos of the dome and landscape which is now obviously old photos. I would stay in the dome again but considering taped up windows, cardboard on windows and not well maintained areas I don’t think it worth how expensive it is.
The bedding also had holes in the quilts and blood on the pillow.
The dome is an awesome experience. The quarry is a cool hike and awesome landscape and the location is amazing.

This is my third time at this dome with the same best friend. We love it every time. We go on walks, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and love coming back to the yurt with a fireplace.
We have brought a dog with us every time and it has been extremely easy. The bed isn't huge so depending on how many dogs sleep with you, think about that.
It also does take some time for the yurt to actually start warming up after starting a fire, so take that into account on what time you are arriving and how cold it will be. However, once hot, you could be roasting.

Nice place to visit, though some things need to be improved, fixed and better maintained. The pictures which attract visitors attention in the first place are very outdated. When I say “very” I mean like about 3-5 years ago or more. According to the summer review the top part of the dome still needs to be fixed, there are multiple patches which don’t look great and there is nothing you can see through it. The large window part of the dome was pretty dirty, and after I cleaned it definitely looked much better and we enjoyed great view from the inside and outside. The firewood was provided as described, Nick was very nice and helpful and Tara responded to all questions and requests. Great wood stove and fire pit with which we were able to play and enjoy. We cooked delicious food as well. The dome door needs to be fixed, it won’t close all the way and cold air drifts in a lot. The toilet part, which described as compostable toilet, is just a bucket with toilet seat above it, and saw dust was provided. We took a great hike to the quarry, which we were very excited about, there are such a good photos in advertisement, unfortunately the boat was too far from the shore and we couldn’t get to it without going into water, there were multiple plastic chairs sinked in the water, which looked weird. I hate to write about multiple negatives which we faced and really hope that hosts can fix it in the future for next visitors.

Geodesic Dome at Quarry Brook
This was the perfect “glamping” spot! Tara has the space supplied with everything you may need. We especially enjoyed cooking our dinner over the fire, and sleeping to the sounds of the wood stove burning at night. Be prepared for the sounds of wildlife (coyotes). We never encountered them and always felt safe, but could certainly hear them! We would definitely return to this spot.

Camp at Quarry Brook
I recently stayed a few nights at Quarry Brook with my friends, we set up at the tent site. It was a first time camping in the woods for us so it was nice to see that we weren’t too far off from the host’s site, just a brisk 5min hike. The set up went well, though there was a bit of an incline so it took us a bit to figure out where to position the tents. Aside from that, the trip was wonderful. We hiked along the woods towards the watering hole which had an array of accommodations and boats to have fun with. We didn’t have enough people for a good game of volleyball but the court was amazingly setup. All the little critters and wildlife made this all the better. Great stay.

We rented the renting area at Quarry Brook and it was fabulous. The trail down to the spot is short and leads to a nicely secluded spot with a picnic table and plenty of ground to set up even a larger tent. We hiked the trails and counted dozens of Red Efts. Great stay! Would stay again.

The path to the yurt needs to be groomed. Roots and stumps while pulling a dilapidated cart was rough going. The fire pit is basically useless as it is too close to flammable growth

This site is so beautiful! Tara was amazing, and quick at answering questions. We had 7 people and we all fit comfortably! The query was such a blast, and made for all day fun. The instructions to get there were very clear, and the recommendations for things to do were so handy! Plenty of space to set up hammocks, cook a nice meal, and hang out! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet quick get away, with tons to do!

Loved camping and swimming on this property. Nice large, very private camping spot. The hill between parking and site 1 was a bit challenging for me and my excessive gear, but the assistant and his son helped. In my defense, I am 70 yrs old and would have had an easy time when I was younger. I can't say enough about how incredible the Quarry swimming hole is. Over the top, in "cool factor". I highly recommend this gem.

It's what we expected which is great. Such a cool facility, imported from Poland. Yes, it's aging a bit, so it's not perfect. Neither are we. The hosts took very good care of our needs, even addressing a WiFi concern at 4:30 a.m. The fans help with the heat. The bed is very comfortable, as is the leather chair. Reading the reviews in the books stored in the desk, so many people have enjoyed their time here. A couple of people got engaged here. It's a respite, away from noise. Lots of fireflies. I think the winter, in snow, would be especially nice, though the woodstove will need stoking once during the night;) My wife said, "Everything was what they said it would be" and smiled.
You're out in the country; the driveway has potholes. There are bugs. The composting toilet is very well constructed. The Dome was clean. The swim at the quarry was unique and felt great. There are fish and turtles to observe. It's a short drive from the Dome. We traveled to Putney, enjoyed the Diner (opens at 6 a.m.), and enjoyed Hidden Spring Maple and Harlow's (turn left on Route 5). Explored Brattleboro = an interesting town with quite a bit of art available and some good restaurants. Great cinnamon rolls across the street from Diner at the Putney General Store. Ice, sandwiches, and other stuff.
Overall, we hope to return. We haven't explored this part of Vermont much though we have lived in the state for most of our lives. We enjoyed supporting HipCamp and our hosts.

Overall I had a nice experience and the site is secluded and private once you get there . Tara was friendly & the family honored the privacy of guests .
Cons:
The haul from the car to the site was challenging during unloading & loading. Having expected to use my car during camping, this made it very challenging .
The trail to the site was not completely obvious needing grooming and removal of debris. A wagon is highly recommended
Parked, you are in a cluster of construction material, a hitched SUV, and another site/cabin. Walking past all of this each car trip was not enjoyable and a concern for car tires near the construction material as some of the boards on the ground showed nail holes.
Driveway was very rutty, especially after the rains - potholes were deep & full. Smaller cars not advised.
Trail to the quarry was not tended. the quarry itself was lovely, but shoreline was littered with neglected boats, knee high grass, & abandoned beachside things.
I wish this was a better review but it’s an honest one. I’d guess the care for this property was demoted in priority, as it does w/ a small family.
Tara was quick to respond to texts & her husband returned my cooler to the car that I gave up trying to carry mid way since I’d need to return it for night time/bears.
I think if a little more attention was given this could be an ideal spot with lovely hosts

We unfortunately had a very disappointing experience that we feel compelled to share.
We booked based on the photos and reviews, expecting a relaxing glamping getaway. However, the condition of the site was far from what was portrayed:
- The tent had visible mold and dirt, and we found trash behind the bed, which we moved just to avoid the mold.
- The steps were unsafe — the last step is broken, and my wife twisted her ankle walking to the bathroom at night.
- There was animal feces on the top step entering the tent.
- The entire site was overgrown — including the picnic table, which was unusable, and the fire pit area, where ticks dropped onto us from the surrounding brush.
- The skylight was patched with duct tape, so we couldn’t see the stars — one of the key reasons we booked this site.
- The kitchen gear was dirty, and the entry path was a muddy mess, with the side trail nearly impassable.
- The furniture inside was damaged, and a few of our personal items even broke when it collapsed.
We understand camping comes with a level of ruggedness, but at $250 for one night and with the site advertised as a more polished “glamping” experience, this felt extremely misleading.
I reached out to see if they were open to discussing that this experience did not reflect the listing or justify the cost. We did not receive any response.

We had a great time at the dome. It was easy to access nearby trails and the town of Putney was fun. The site itself was comfortable, clean, and very relaxing. Plenty of necessities provided along with helpful small touches like the wagon to get your items to and from your car. Would definitely stay again.
