Huge cave systems, backcountry trails, and aquatic activities await campers headed to Scottsville.
Although Scottsville doesn’t have RV parks or tent camping in town, there are excellent options just 15 minutes northeast in Barren River Lake State Park. Tent sites and pull-through RV sites here offer 30- or 50-amp electric and water hookups as well as access to a dump station, boat launch, restrooms, and showers. Snag a two-bedroom cottage rental with full bathrooms, linens, and cooking utensils for more amenities. Days can be spent hiking the Barren River Loop for lake views or jumping in a kayak to explore the water. Mammoth Cave National Park, 40 minutes north, supplies more on-site camping accommodations and the world’s longest cave system. Adventurous campers can find remote backcountry sites while exploring foot, horseback, and paddling routes, while tent and RV campers looking for relaxation can enjoy drive-in campsites with full hookups, picnic tables, firepits, flush toilets, hot showers, and dump stations. Stay a few days to take a cave tour, canoe in Green River, and explore more than 60 miles of hiking trails.
