I loved writing music on my cabin porch looking at beautiful green hills with mini ponies roaming around!! The trails on the property were awesome! And at night i loved picking on the guitar with Dan and his family! They were so kind and real genuine people! I highly recommend this hip camp, he has multiple cabins, all unique and special! Plus its close to so many amazing state parks, waterfalls, and swimming holes!!!"

Jo Cabin Experience
2 sites · Lodging
1 acre · Somerset, KY
Our property sits on a finger of Cumberland Lake. The Lake is maintain and owned by the Army Corp of Engineers. Our property has one of the few docks that are grandfathered in to the rules of the lake. We bought this property as a summer home for our family and we are fortunate enough to have two small cabins on the property we are willing to share. We took a break during COVID and used our cabins for family but now that things are back to normal, we are ready to meet new people. Both cabins have indoor plumbing, a small kitchen area with a microwave, coffee pot, mini frig and sink. They have been remodeled and have covered balconies that overlook the hillside and water below. It's a beautiful, peaceful getaway that feels like you are miles from the city but really you are a mile from grocery stores, gas, and entertainment.

Moonlight Ridge
4 sites · Lodging, Tents
28 acres · Jamestown, TN
Private primitive campsite on North White Oak Creek. Bring your fishing poles and hiking boots! This site is right in the creek with a raised area to set up a tent and a lower area on the bank. There is a small fire ring with a tripod for cooking, a few cooking utensils, roasting sticks and three folding chairs for your use. Picnic table was available but was dept down stream a few months ago!!! Bathroom is a pop up shower tent with a bedside chair and bucket. I will provide disposable gel bags I just tried them sealed, placed in garbage bag and deposited in receptacle at the end of the trail upon check out. Dry firewood is available for purchase. There is plenty of small branches around for kindling. Do not cut down any live trees. Do not use firewood from the small cabin area. At night enjoy the sounds of passing coyotes and the watch the flashing lights of the of lightening bugs fluttering around. You may even get lucky and see glow worms and glowing mushrooms in the area certain times of the year. There is also an area where hundreds of hummingbirds abound! They will hover in front of your face as you pass by, this also depends on the season and when the flowers in the marsh are blooming. The old O&W Trail crosses my property. For those who are true explorers you can follow the trail East into Big South Fork. This part of the park is unmaintained so a lot of tree dodging and climbing small rock slides may be required. This section of the trail is rarely traveled so chances of seeing a human is slim and wildlife is great. Please stay on the trail until entering the park as it is private property on both sides of the trail. Swimming is at your own risk. There are branches under the water that cannot be seen but my girls swim there almost daily during the summer. You are free to wander the property just be aware of your surroundings. I do have snakes, spiders, ticks, mountain lion, coyotes, bobcat, wild hog, beaver, otters, mink and a momma bear with cubs in the area. Driving to the parking area for the campsite is a narrow, steep, rutted and can be muddy trail thru the woods. Before booking please know it is recommended to have a vehicle with clearance and 4 wheel drive. A mustang will NOT make it!!! I do have a 4x4 to transport if needed providing you pitch in for gas cause she does drink a lot, about $10 with each time she goes down there, or you are welcome to park at the top and hike down. I have a wagon to haul gear. Once at the parking area there is a short easy walk thru the woods to the campsite. Driving to the campsite is not possible. I try to keep it as natural as possible.

Camp Chet
7 sites · Lodging, RVs
994 acres · Whitwell, TN
Camp Chet was founded with the purpose to help people encounter God through outdoor experiences. It encompasses 994 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir. If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries. The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain.Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. Come to hike, relax, bike, explore, and recharge.

The Falls at Sewanee Creek
11 sites · Lodging, Tents
45 acres · Tracy City, TN
We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, intentional eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named after the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located. There are now a dozen homesteads here and a small thriving community. I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one. I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's the Village 2.0 for guests. Who knows, you may decide to stay. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently. I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.
