Weekend Trip to Southover Woods Wild CampingWe absolutely loved The Villager at Southwood. Being amongst the trees and watching the wildlife going about their days. The firepit was great, private compost loo and bucket shower. We honestly didn't want to leave, it was the perfect size for the two of us to feel like we had our own hideaway. We give it a 5/5, the only disappointment was the grounds were a little neglected, we attempted the Woodland Walk but it was too overgrown, the pitch area had sunken so was quite bowed, some toilet roll/rubbish was left behind by previous guests. There is also a handout at each site which states there is a shop, but this isn't actually true, so probably needs updating too. These are pretty minor maintenance tasks - but considering the high price of the pitch/site we were a little surprised. This didn't detract from our stay though, and we will be back.
