Andrea's Farm Breaks is Keepers Hut glamping accommodation run alongside a working farm campsite in the heart of Purbeck. Andrea is pleased to offer a little luxury for those who want to camp at Downshay Farm in a comfortable bed. Farm is a working farm in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, ideally located for exploring the stunning World Heritage Site coastline. The Pike family has farmed here since 1956. The farmhouse is largely Victorian although parts of the house and some farm buildings are much older. The accommodation looks out over the lovely views of Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills. The seaside town of Swanage is just over 4 miles away as are the sandy beaches of Studland Bay. Local footpaths and Swanage Steam Railway also make exploring Purbeck easy, and we are a few minutes’ walk from Harmans Cross Station. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Shell Bay, Studland and Swanage or go rock pooling or fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay. The Coastal Path will take you along the coast to Durlston Country Park, Dancing Ledge and Winspit. The deserted village of Tyneham and its own bay is a short drive away, then follow the scenic road over the Ranges to Lulworth and Durdle Door. Local attractions include Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum, and a walk through the RSPB bird sanctuary at Arne to Poole Harbour is recommended.The Keepers Hut £100 per night – Sleeps 2 There is room in the Keepers Hut garden for a small tent, charges for this will be per night at the same rates as our tent camping, payable at farm office at arrival but please message when booking. The hut comes equipped with a kettle, toaster and Tassimo machine, a selection of teas and coffees, sugar and milk. There is crockery, glassware and cutlery, an electric cool box and ice packs, washing liquid, hand soap and hand sanitiser. Bedding is provided, unless you would prefer to bring your own. Towels are not provided. The hut has a fire bowl outside, a barbecue, a gas hob and pans. There are garden chairs and a garden dining table and chairs for your use.

Keeper's Hut
Absolute gem of a find. The location is great and the shepherds hut is super cosy with all the added extras. Bed was lovely a comfy too! We had a super stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet, could hear all the birds singing ! We loved having a fire in the evening in the chimera provided. We could see Corfe Castle from the hut and was a great view. We will definitely be back. Our host Andrea was very friendly , helpful and responsive . Thankyou for a lovely stay

A little piece of heaven! 💫 Stayed for 4 nights but felt I could’ve lived there. So well thought out and finished to a really high standard. The bed was so comfortable and the trip gave me everything I needed. The toilet block was a stones throw away, with hot showers. The sunset views were a dream - thank you!

Great place to stay

Great location and very clean amenities. Quiet and secluded. Andrea also let us pitch a small tent on the patch which was very convenient for us both. The hut is kitted out with everything you need. There’s a great bbq out side too. But the induction hot plate did a fabulous job…we’re going to buy one! We will be back next year for more walking and running. Super place. Everyone very friendly Showers and toilets very clean and organised

I had a really lovely stay at the hut. Beautifully located in the peaceful countryside overlooking Corfe castle, this lovely place was the perfect get away for a sunny weekend. The hut itself was well appointed and very comfortable. I would certainly recommend.

I stayed in Andrea’s keepers hut. The moment I stepped inside I felt relaxed and cosy. I had everything I needed and more. I could see the sunset behind Corfe Castle. It was very peaceful. Andrea was lovely to chat to and very helpful

Once again spent several wonderful days on this great campsite with everything you need provided in the comfortable and self-contained Shepherd's hut. Fantastic views to Corfe and beyond and convenient to Swanage on the steam train from nearby Harmans Cross. Close to many of the varied and fantastic beaches of Purbeck.

We had a great, cosy stay in the hut! It had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. The setting is next to a cow field with lovely views of the steam train through the valley and Corfe Castle in the distance.

We have been to the Keepers Hut twice and both times have found it just perfect - Lovely campsite in a beautiful setting, the hut itself clean and very thoughtfully fitted and furnished, very comfortable overall, outside area is big enough for a tent and still leaving plenty of extra space. Will book again for sure!
