Our 27' 1973 Airstream Overlander has been completely refurbished with lots of love and attention to detail. The outdoor space is a chill zone full of native plants, trees, flowers and an 8 ft. barrel sauna! Located in the heart of NE Portland Oregon, ART CAN is walking distance to the Alberta Arts district, Vancouver/Williams Corridor and Mississippi Ave. The interior space is open yet cozy with an extra long queen bed suitable for 1-2 person, full couch/daybed, desk area, kitchen table, ventless blue flame propane heater and music listening options (bluetooth speakers and record player with records!) We provide linen sheets and a perfume-free environment. We only use natural cleaning products and soaps with essential oils for those sensitive to perfumes. Kitchenette includes 2 burner stove, eco-sink, mini-fridge, cook/dish-ware, coffee and tea supplies, a water filter and outdoor grill. NOTE: This is a rustic space! A separate shower, bathroom sink and composting toilet are separate, but only a few steps away, right next to our 8' barrel sauna. This space is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet place to land while they explore the city and/or endless nature in the surrounding areas - Forest Park, Mt Hood, The Columbia Rive Gorge, and the coast! We are biking distance to several fabulous neighborhoods and restaurants along with tons of hiking opportunities in Forest Park, Columbia Slough trail, Mt Tabor and more. We have 2 bikes available for you to use during your stay! * * * The outside area is a secluded, minimally shared space.* The ART CAN has it's own deck with couch, table and chairs and grill. Lots of plants, trees and bird watching. We can not offer the use of the fire pit at this time due to fire hazards and smoke. *House residents do use the separate upper porch/deck attached to the main house and VERY occasionally the composting toilet and bathroom sink to wash hands.

Escape the city chaos and come relax among the trees. We have a 30 acre parcel in unincorporated Columbia County, OR with our home, barn, and animals. The lodging is set away from our home in a private part of the property. We are surrounded by woods and views of the cascade mountains. We have solar panels on the cabin for power, there is potable water in a storage tank that feeds the sink at the deck and the outdoor shower behind the cabin. The toilet is a composting toilet and is set about 100 feet away from the cabin. The CZ trail is close by, there is a trailhead about 1 mile from our driveway. The CZ trail is a bike, pedestrian and horse trail that runs from Scappoose to Banks. There are restaurants and grocery stores in Scappoose and nearby St Helens. There are also many local farm stands, including ours.

We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. In all we will likely have 12-15 total designated camping areas (including a group area or two, as well as a couple hike to secluded locations). There is also a lot of additional information listed on the individual campsite descriptions.

Having the creek to splash around in, warm running water for showers and washing dishes, trails to explore, and the delivery of fresh produce and eggs from the property far exceeded our expectations. Tucked Away Retreat

42km from Portland · 2 units · Motorhomes, Glamping
Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast. Learn more about this land: Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland. Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States. Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park. The B side is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. This site is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit but you may need to back in. The B side is backed by our private, small shop. It is adjacent to our tiny house, with a privacy fence separating the two areas. The site has water, power and septic hook ups. There is also WiFi, although it can be spotty inside your trailer. The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge. Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception. We do not allow "shower" tents. Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone. These sites are on our private property. We live onsite but the B side and tiny house are situated facing away from our main home. Please reach out with any questions.
