We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. In all we will likely have 12-15 total designated camping areas (including a group area or two, as well as a couple hike to secluded locations). There is also a lot of additional information listed on the individual campsite descriptions.

A large fallen Cedar lays in the back of this unique site, telling the story of the 1950’s logging era. The tree fall creates a magical tucked away area perfect for a tent. Next to extra guest parking the Cedar is right off the main road nestled near the old logging bridge (please stay off the bridge itself). With two leveled areas for tents surrounded by trees, you can listen to the creek burble under the bridge and experience the tranquility. This is the original camping spot my family used through the 2000's and 2010's. We have had very large family campouts here with tents and campers everywhere. This is the area still used by my family to this day, but when not in use by my own family, we have decided to offer it to Hipcampers as a group site. We have big plans for it in the long run, but for now it includes the features listed below. Current Features: • Large Group Area (room for several tents, and/or small RV's). • Up to 20 Guests (12 Included in base rate) with up to 8 Vehicles. • 24 X 24 Covered area with under cover firepit. • Well water in site. • Under Cover Outdoor Kitchen (counter and storage shelving, and sink) • Off Grid Power: Solar panel with small battery array (DC Power) to run basic lighting, well pump, charge phones, misc. electronic devises, etc.. • 4 Picnic Tables and 2 Firepits. Set back a little further from the road than the others, the sounds of the creek can be clearly heard from camp. This Deluxe site offers a larger camp area, more guests, and a 3rd car in the site. The site is also eligible for the Mini Yurt (Bell Tent) addon option for those interested in a little interested in adding a little "glamp" to their stay. Note: Though this site is quite close to the creek and offers great ambiance as a result, there is no easy direct access to the creek at this location. The best creek access to a beachy area is a couple hundred feet away at the center clearing (see map for details). This is an oversized, deluxe site, and includes a 20' Yurt Style all season glamping tent, complete with a (provided) blow up mattress (no bedding included). It was a very relaxing and wonderful space. There were others staying at another campsite and we couldn't hear them from our campsite (#5). The campsite had ample space and felt private. The only thing that felt awkward was that the port a potty was right across from the group campsite where a group of men was staying/close to where their cars were parked. It felt like I was intruding on their space to utilize the port a potty, however I saw that there are others being installed and I think that will solve the issues. They came around to deliver firewood, which was a wonderful benefit to have when we didn't pack enough. :). I would definitely visit again!

The sites are all extremely well kept, there is a cute park area by the water for kids, you can have firewood and ice delivered right to your site! Incredible experience, 10/10. This was a fanatic trip! The late season meant we had the entire campground to ourselves and it was magical. We got to explore every nook and canny of the place and agree it's out new favorite place. We definitely plan on being back quite a bit next year. The creek is amazing and totally walkable. Bring able to purchase firewood and ice on site was invaluable. The host was very responsive and staff was super friendly. We really enjoyed our trip.

We had an amazing time at Zen Acres! We happened to be the only campers while we were there so it was beautiful and quiet. There’s a stream not too far from camp and a nice hiking trail through the camp that our puppies loved. All the sites were well spaced and super clean porta potties on site. Our camp host was super responsive and checked in with us to see how our stay was going. We will definitely be coming back!

Like the site suggests it is indeed Zen acres. Since I visited in the middle of the week it was very quiet, no road noise. The creek access was beautiful with picnic tables at various levels just above the creek with excellent views. You could close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature change as you turned your head or view the birds a creatures that inhabit the space. One spot right by the creek allows you to sit on a fallen tree just above the water. The Port-a potty’s were regularly maintained super clean. I will recommend it to other friends who use Hipcamp as a portal to find unique camping experiences.

Overall, our group had a very good time in Zen Acres! The property is a very nice, manicured space with close distance to well maintained bathrooms. There was clear signage when you enter to lead you to your campsite, as well as fire extinguishers under your campsite post in case of an emergency. There is also a packet they give to you when you arrive with information regarding wifi passwords (there is NO PHONE SERVICE here) and purchasing firewood, ice, etc. which is very convenient if you need some forgotten accessories. Attached is also a map of the campgrounds. The owner Mike came to our camp and introduced himself, he was a really kind and cool guy! We spent our days in the rain, which made my morning walk in their hiking paths very magical with all the moss studded trees and ferns. The campsite itself was a big dirt area with plenty of room for our two tent setup. There was also a fire pit made and a picnic table provided onsite. Just a brisk walk from our campsite was the creek, which was shallow at the moment but I also didn't explore enough of it to see if there were deeper areas. The only negative thing on our trip was on our last night unfortunately we had extremely loud neighbors that didn't turn off their music until 3:00am. I wasn't sure if this was another group in the campsite or a different one entirely but it was loud enough to keep us awake. Definitely a bummer for an otherwise great time!!

My first thought was — this can't be a business. Too much effort must have gone into creating such a cozy place deep in the woods... and with such a low rental price, the return on investment might only be seen by the owner's grandchildren )) All three days we were there, I kept thinking about that effort and felt grateful that the owners shared this beauty with my family. They shared the results of years of their hard work. Now, less reflection — closer to practical details. I was there with two kids, 4 and 8 years old. Spot number five is very spacious — we loved it. One non-obvious but special detail — the kids could swim in the river. It was also great that there was a well-equipped playground with two slides. There are several spots, but they're well isolated from each other, so I wasn't worried that my kids' shouting would bother other guests too much ) Mike, thank you! We'll be back!

Loved the peaceful setting. Site was clean, spacious and shaded. The porta potties with handwashing station was a game changer. Very short walk to the creek which was beautiful. Perfect for our dog to play in and great for us to cool off our feet. Wifi access in the big group area, but did not mind not having it at the campsite. Really felt like we were away and could take a nice digital break. We stayed Sunday to Tuesday, very quiet with just one other camper on our second night. Super dog friendly location. Hosts Mike and Christina were kind and helpful. So great to be able to order firewood and or ice via Venmo and have them bring it by your site! Would defintley like to return!

Quiet, beautiful place to relax. We appreciated all the work that the hosts have put in to making the campground clean and welcoming. The new playground was a huge hit for the kids and we loved spending time in the creek on the hot days. Ice and firewood delivery was very helpful!

This was a great first camping experience! My friends set up their tent and I camped in my car, the space was very versatile. Our dogs really enjoyed the space and although you can hear and see other camp sites, everyone was respectful and the place was very peaceful. Great hosts as well, came by to check on us the first evening and we were able to purchase firewood and ice for delivery the second evening, which was perfect! They have various porta potties on site and they are clean and very well maintained! We will be back!

This campground is lovely. Sites are spacious and relatively private. There was plenty of shade at the site. The creek is lovely, we hung out and floated there most of the day. The campground host is very welcoming and personable and the wood/ice delivery was an appreciated service. The host is very responsive and helpful.

Zen Acres was perfect for my family and our friends! Two families, two tents, four small humans, and a dog - the campsite was such a great size with plenty of nature for the kids to tromp around with. The porta-potty situation was NOT disgusting and even had a hand washing station. The access to the creek was easy enough and perfect for the heat of the day. The babes loved the play structure too! A++ and we can't wait to go back!

What a gorgeous place to camp! Friendly fellow campers and hosts. My little one loved the playground and the beautiful creek. The only downside was some other campers who were loud late into the night, making sleep difficult but that’s something you can find in any camping area. Was overall a wonderful weekend and we hope to return!

Our stay was great! We spent two nights at site #2 and really enjoyed it. The site felt a bit secluded tucked back in the trees, which was nice. There was plenty of room for multiple tents of different sizes, so it would work well for a group. The porta-potty was close by and clean. We didn’t have a need for the firewood or ice, but the campground offered to deliver both directly to your site if purchased online. The prices seemed very reasonable, especially considering the delivery. The walk down to the creek was also nice and easy to access. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider coming back!

Excellent location for a big group! Lots of space, lots of shade, very laid back and great added amenities of the running water and electricity. Great creek access that's very kid friendly, and the hosts were so kind. We especially appreciated the very fair prices on the firewood and ice as well. The play structure across the path was also so awesome for the kiddos. Overall a wonderful spot for big groups. We had lots of kiddos ranging from infants to teens and it was fun for all ages! We would definitely recommend this location add more portable restrooms, but that would be our only critique. Beautiful spot, highly recommend!

Great experience, quiet private campsites, the porta potties are very clean, the creek is fun to swim in and on site. Mike and Christina are amazing and are doing a lot of work to better the camp grounds and give people a great experience and truly enjoy what they’re doing. I came last summer and so much progress and improvement has happened in just a year and last year was good enough before the improvements that I came back again this year. Highly recommend!
