The good: the camp host (although we didn't see him much at all) seemed very friendly and the view of mount hood is very pretty (however, the view was obstructed from our campsite). Full hookups and he provided a veteran discount.
The bad: Our site was the Quail site so I can only speak of our specific site. The listing states that the site can accommodate our rig (40') however, due to the location of the hookups and a tall concrete slab in the middle of the pad, our front end stuck out into the middle of the main drive. Realistically, it's not a good spot for anything longer than 32'. The site is butted up right next to a large garage so with the slides out, you couldn't walk between the building and the rig. The parking lot in front of the large garage is full of random vehicles so pulling in and out was a challenge. There were multiple people in and out of the garage, hanging out, working, etc which was noisy during most of the daylight hours and left us without any privacy. There's a bunch of rusted scraps/junk surrounding the garage. We felt like we had rented a spot next to an old mechanic shop/junkyard. It was absolutely not worth the $65 a night. If I'm being honest, we wouldn't stay there again even if it were $25 a night. Finally, a few days in, our son had noticed a camera on the side of the garage that pointed right inside our rig. After addressing it with the host, he provided conflicting stories about whether it was operating or not.

Robert’s land and hospitality were absolutely amazing! The water right out of the tap is so fresh to drink I was able to take off my filter - this blew mind. Overall, 10 out of 10: great people and great stay. Thanks again to him and his farmhand Josh. You should ask to try the axe throwing!! 😉

Robert's property was beautiful. I was super appreciative of the great communication Robert had while planning the trip. Robert met us on the road and drove us back to our sight. The camp site we stayed at was very nice and kid safe(7 yr old). It even had a big portable car covered area. Well maintained. When we come back to the area, we will definitely stay here again! :)

Robert’s land is beautiful! Private, plenty of room and views of the mountain! I started my bike ride right from there the next morning. If you need an easy, convenient spot right outside of Portland, this is a good one to check out.

Rob's place was beautiful, quiet and private. We really enjoyed our stay there. Rob's grounds keeper does live on property and is around at times. A little weird, but nothing against Josh, he was very friendly.
We like to try new places, but Rob's property may be a place we return!!! Thank you!

Camping on Robert’s land was just what I needed! Spaciousness of the land, sweet solitude, hearing the frogs chirping in the evening, gorgeous full moon, and birds singing in the morning. Oh and a unique view early in the morning of the majestic, Mt Hood! I’ll be coming back!

By far the best camping experience at a HipCamp I have had. The space was very clean, full hook-up, very quiet and had a beautiful view of Mount Hood!

We loved our Quail Sunrise site at Rob's Down on the Farm Hipcamp in western Oregon. It was a peaceful, beautiful, relaxing place by fir trees and farmland with a view of Mt Hood in the horizon. We and our two dogs just loved being there. Rob is the quintessentially great host. He is friendly, helpful, unobtrusive, and very warm and welcoming. We will go back as soon as we can!

The site was as described. Private, green, views of the forest beyond, the two mowed grass sites to the left and group fire pit site. The site immediately adjacent is a permanent renter, but is mostly blocked from sight by thick blackberry brambles. A large site for plenty of room to spread out. Robert, the host, is attentive, friendly and helpful at check-in, and available onsite if needed. I’ll stay here again!

This space was nicely done. Fairly level ground, green grass in front of our awning and a wood burning fireplace to use. Having a picnic table would have been great! I would check with the host if you have any slides or a large vehicle. It was a tight fit.

Shady Blue
Robert is a gracious host. The property is laid out great with power and water available with paths to take in views of surrounding farm land and Mt Hood. We enjoyed the quiet while being a few short minutes from Sandy.

Robert was a great host. He was quick to respond to my request, and willing to accommodate an early check-in. Our Starlink worked great in our spot “Shady Blue” . Rob’s property is filled with blackberries, and other fruit trees. He allowed us to pick the fruit, and my husband even made blackberry juice. Rob was also very helpful to my husband offering to carry wood and set up the fire pit. Rob has great communication skills and is friendly. Great location approximately 30 minutes outside of Portland, I plan to stay there again in October! Highly recommend !

This was our first Hipcamp experience and it could not have been better! Rob was a friendly, welcoming host. The location was perfect - level site, quiet, private setting for evening campfires but convenient to the city for our family visit. We will definitely be back.

Great setting out in the country, yet close to lots of communities. Close for exploring Mt. Hood, Columbia River and Gorge, shopping, coffee, restaurants, food trucks, and more!

Lovely site. Quiet, peaceful. Robert was very friendly and communicated well. Close to Sandy and some hiking trails. Perfect visit. They let us pick some me blackberries to eat.

Robert was an amazing host. The property was beautiful. Fruit trees and all u can pick blackberries. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. We enjoyed sp using time with Robert sharing stories of our adventures. Robert made sure we were set up and had all our hookups. We will definitely stay there again. His location was also located to two beautiful towns for groceries and restaurants. Great stay

Robert is working hard to expand and/or improve his property to best serve campers.
When we arrived, he provided us with several options for parking our trailer. It was an extremely warm two days, so he offered to supply us with 110 power to run our small AC, which we gladly accepted. A hired hand was also on site to offer a number of helpful tips, as well. Very friendly folks!
It was a quiet, relaxing visit. Views of mountains in the distance were nice. We’d consider coming back again.

Robert had fantastic communication and it was a nice spot with a lovely view of Mt. Hood. Access to Edgefield for a show was super-easy from this location and avoided I-84.

We loved our stay here. We stayed in the Shady Blue site and it was roomy and had a great view of Mt. Hood! This place was a blackberry farm and there are blackberry bushes everywhere - we had the added bonus of being there when they were starting to ripen. We were close to Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge plus close to Portland and Gresham so it was centrally located to just about anything we wanted to do. There was an RV directly on the opposite side of us but there were blackberry bushes and some trees to give some separation so we had plenty of privacy. Be aware there is some road noise but we didn’t mind that. Since there isn’t a sewer hookup, if you need to dump before or after your stay, Work Barton Park was only about 15 minutes away and you can dump there for a fee. Robert was a fantastic host. Super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!
