Tyne View Camping is a peaceful spot in Tyne and Wear, not far from Hedley on the Hill village. It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views. You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play. You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub. There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. You can also visit Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle upon Tyne, or explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a varied and enjoyable break.Also this June we will be open for the Sam Fender weekend ie June 12 til the 16th if anyone wants to camp £20 a night plus a taxi for £20

All the pitches face the coast so you can have spectacular views over the sea, in this case the North Sea to Scarborough (15 minutes’ drive), giving you a front-row seat on one of England’s most spectacular coastlines. Here you can wake to vibrant sunrises and on clear evenings to watch sunsets in the west. There’s plenty more going for this peaceful site as well: walkers will perk up on hearing that it’s right on the Cleveland Way National Trail, surfers can catch waves at popular Cayton Bay (five minutes’ drive), and families can head for Go Ape or scenic biking trails in Dalby Forest (40 minutes). There’s also a farm shop 15 minutes’ walk away where you can get a decent coffee and homemade food. There’s plenty of room so you’re free to pitch up where you wish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and barbecues or firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground to protect the grass. The camping area is exposed and can get windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured. Facilities are simple: chemical toilets and a water supply. The water supply is from the mains but we recommend bottled water for drinking to be safe. There are no showers on site. Solar showers can be bought on-line for about £10. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain. The hospitality was excellent, with everything thoughtfully prepared and any help offered in a friendly and welcoming way. The wagon itself is amazing, unique, and a perfect place to sit inside and unwind while enjoying the peaceful, quiet surroundings.

Margaret's land was very quiet and calming, it is quite close to the M62 but don't let that scare you, the tall thick conifers surrounding the land block all the noise. Margaret was lovely, she couldn't be more helpful. We will return, we only booked one night as we wanted to try the electrical hook up on our new van, but would have happily stayed longer had we not had other plans.

Superb view from the top field across the Tyne Valley. The facilities are very basic with only portaloos and a stand pipe for running water. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and there is a good pub within walking distance that serves takeaway pizza. It’s only one step away from wild camping which is just how we like it. It’s is a very scenic site and also a safe place to relax.

Loved our stay at Walkmill! A clean, friendly, well-spaced site with all the amenities needed. We stayed on a tent plot, and despite a last-minute change of plan (adding another night to our stay) we were welcomed with no fuss. Well situated near Warkworth, we walked to both Warkworth and down to nearby farm brewery Rigg and Furrow on each night for our stay, which gave us loads to do, and the scenery was beautiful. I’d recommend Walkmill to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in beautiful Northumberland.

We loved camping in the woods. The pitch was big enough for two 2 man tents and the firepit and was sheltered from the wind. It was a short pleasant walk to the car park and toilet and the wheelbarrow was a big help in getting gear to the pitch. The toilets were nice and clean and the host gave a very informative and useful induction on arrival.

Weekend Trip to Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park

I stayed for two nights on an electric hardstanding pitch. The pitches are nice and spacious, and the facilities are clean and warm, with good hot showers. I enjoyed taking a little walk along the side of the lake with my morning coffee. There's a little shop on site for milk, alcohol, and snacks, and there are really good walking options right on the doorstep. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I will definitely stay here again.

This was our first real trip as newbie motorhomers. We had a lovely couple of days between Christmas and New Year. Site was busy but still peaceful. Hosts keep an eye on things and are more than happy to help if required. Hassle free booking. Plenty of space between pitches and plenty of room on pitches. The facilities are good and kept spotless. There are short or long walking tours to Castle Howard and a lovely walk along the lakeside. Take your walking boots as not really suitable for trainers. Take extra hookup cables as it can be a long way to ehu points.

Received a very warm welcome to our numbered & reserved pitch. A lovely quiet site, fantastic facilities lovely clean and hot showers and toilets. So quiet at night, we stayed in our campervan on an electric gravel pitch, really enjoyed our (1 night) stay. Castle Howard is generally beautiful also!

Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout

We had such a lovely stay at Greenoak. The hosts were so friendly and approachable and there were lots of lovely small touches that made the yurts feel homely and comfortable. The log burners and electric blankets meant that we were warm over night and had a really comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to going in the Summer to be able to enjoy more daylight hours. The boys (4 and 7) loved all of the friendly animals and the play equipment on the land, as well as the hot tub! We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family! Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again next year!
