Tyne View Camping is a peaceful spot in Tyne and Wear, not far from Hedley on the Hill village. It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views.
You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play.
You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub.
There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. You can also visit Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle upon Tyne, or explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a varied and enjoyable break.Also this June we will be open for the Sam Fender weekend ie June 12 til the 16th if anyone wants to camp £20 a night plus a taxi for £20

Calling all walkers and wildlife spotters… fancy pitching up within strolling distance of not one, but two nature reserves? That’s the deal at Garth Farm Caravan and Camping in Hollym, less than 10 minutes’ drive from Withernsea’s coast and 40 minutes from Hull.
It's all trees and open fields in the surrounds of this family-run East Yorkshire site, and the pleasing rural views continue at Toffling Hill Reserve (a few minutes’ walk), a place of grassy areas, boundary trees and a shallow pond to explore.
Continue your amble for a further 15 minutes to hit the woodland, meadow and open water of Hollym Carrs Reserve, where you should certainly keep an eye out for a variety of birds, mammals and insects while you wander.
We are located 2 miles from Withernsea, the nearest beach and seaside town. Surrounded by trees and open fields the site is off the beaten track with two nature reserves within walking distance. Within a 10 minute walk there is a village pub and garden centre and cafe.

All the pitches face the coast so you can have spectacular views over the sea, in this case the North Sea to Scarborough (15 minutes’ drive), giving you a front-row seat on one of England’s most spectacular coastlines.
Here you can wake to vibrant sunrises and on clear evenings to watch sunsets in the west.
There’s plenty more going for this peaceful site as well: walkers will perk up on hearing that it’s right on the Cleveland Way National Trail, surfers can catch waves at popular Cayton Bay (five minutes’ drive), and families can head for Go Ape or scenic biking trails in Dalby Forest (40 minutes). There’s also a farm shop 15 minutes’ walk away where you can get a decent coffee and homemade food.
There’s plenty of room so you’re free to pitch up where you wish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and barbecues or firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground to protect the grass.
The camping area is exposed and can get windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured.
Facilities are simple: chemical toilets and a water supply. The water supply is from the mains but we recommend bottled water for drinking to be safe.
There are no showers on site. Solar showers can be bought on-line for about £10. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain.

- Filey Brigg (walking and fossil hunting): 10 minutes
- Scarborough (castle and beach): 15 minutes

With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor. Occupied by some beautiful wildlife, including buzzards and owls, deer, badgers and foxes.
The Wagons have a grass roof, firepits, sleep 4 (in double bunk format), they are hand-made from reclaimed materials salvaged from the local town and other areas, double skinned and insulated with sheeps wool. They have a 2-ring gas-burner in the cute kitchen area, dining table and seating, and are the perfect home away from home.
All the decor is vintage, including cuttlery, crockery and even the childrens teddy's.
Being on the doorstep of Dalby Forest, there are hours of entertainment to be had. You can follow the stream at the bottom of the valley to the River Derwent or venture into the surounding woods. We can provide a guest pass (free access) for Dalby Forest.
The Wagons are not powered by electricity and are romantically lit by candles and oil lamps. Heated by cast iron gas heaters.

Came away for my boyfriend’s birthday and was instantly greeted as we arrived. The pods and Hotubs were spotless throughout and even had nice little incentives within the pod. Requested additional fire wood which came within minutes. We really couldn’t recommend enough!

We loved camping in the woods. The pitch was big enough for two 2 man tents and the firepit and was sheltered from the wind. It was a short pleasant walk to the car park and toilet and the wheelbarrow was a big help in getting gear to the pitch. The toilets were nice and clean and the host gave a very informative and useful induction on arrival.

I stayed for two nights on an electric hardstanding pitch. The pitches are nice and spacious, and the facilities are clean and warm, with good hot showers.
I enjoyed taking a little walk along the side of the lake with my morning coffee.
There's a little shop on site for milk, alcohol, and snacks, and there are really good walking options right on the doorstep. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I will definitely stay here again.

This was our first real trip as newbie motorhomers. We had a lovely couple of days between Christmas and New Year. Site was busy but still peaceful. Hosts keep an eye on things and are more than happy to help if required. Hassle free booking. Plenty of space between pitches and plenty of room on pitches. The facilities are good and kept spotless. There are short or long walking tours to Castle Howard and a lovely walk along the lakeside. Take your walking boots as not really suitable for trainers.
Take extra hookup cables as it can be a long way to ehu points.

Received a very warm welcome to our numbered & reserved pitch. A lovely quiet site, fantastic facilities lovely clean and hot showers and toilets. So quiet at night, we stayed in our campervan on an electric gravel pitch, really enjoyed our (1 night) stay. Castle Howard is generally beautiful also!

Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout
We had such a lovely stay at Greenoak. The hosts were so friendly and approachable and there were lots of lovely small touches that made the yurts feel homely and comfortable.
The log burners and electric blankets meant that we were warm over night and had a really comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to going in the Summer to be able to enjoy more daylight hours.
The boys (4 and 7) loved all of the friendly animals and the play equipment on the land, as well as the hot tub!
We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family!

Just spent three nights in our campervan at Wold Farm. We received a warm and friendly welcome and were invited to choose a pitch anywhere we fancied. It’s a nice, open site and the pitches are spacious. Toilets were clean with plenty of hot water. We knew there were no showers on site but would really have liked some!

The setting was just perfect for our family of five (including two dogs and a 4 year old). The Yurt was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The private shower and toilet facilities were great, as was the hot tub.
We had a trip to the local nature reserve during our stay, however think our daughter and the dogs were just as happy in the grounds with lots to explore, very friendly animals and lots of activities including trampoline and climbing walls.
