Our most popular pitch is our beautiful SSSI woodland.
There are only 25 pitches available. We have a mid wild pitch on the outskirts of the woods, lovely grassed area between trees. Our top field is perfect for motorhomes & caravans.
Plenty of space to breath and relax. Located on the stunning heathlands of the Sutton Heath. We are surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, including the Sandlings walk and just 10 minutes from the river Deben.
We have a bus stop at the top of the track and Melton train station is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There are access points onto public footpaths, leading to Rendlesham Forest. A famous site for UFOs! Sutton Hoo is a stone's throw away. Bring your bikes and explore the area on wheels.
There is water access and portaloos. We do not have showers yet. Blue/grey waste must be taken away. LEAVE NO TRACE

Glamp or pitch up here in our secluded and peaceful mini off-grid site combining both field and forest.
We have a shared under cover space and also an outdoor fire-pit to gather more than 20 people comfortably. There is a simple compost loo for your use with hand-washing and dish washing area outside. And the rest is all Mother nature! There is no running water or drinking water. You will need to bring your own. No electricity points or WIFI are in the campsite and no masts nearby so enjoy the EMF cleanse.
Whether you chose to stay in the ancient woodland or the herbal pasture, you will feel the benefits of reconnecting with yourself in nature, breathing the clean air and hearing the birds singing. The parking is 800m away and there is minimal tractor use so you can imagine yourself roaming the fields and forest of England in days gone by.
Fitness required. It's a long walk from the car park to the campsite. Trolleys provided.

Escape from it all at our pop-up glamping site (July+August only) - The Grove at Melchbourne. Immerse yourself in nature and switch off from the world. In a beautiful shaded woodland grove which looks out over a majestic valley, you can stay in one of our four bell tents - Audrey, Roddy, Olive and Pearl.
No WiFi. No electricity. No cars. Just birds, deer, trees, wildflowers and rolling parkland. It's England at its loveliest, hidden away in the North Bedfordshire countryside...
We have two bell tents (Olive and Pearl) - each has a double bed and single foldaway camp bed. A further camp bed is available on request.
Please note that although we can accept up to four guests (2 adults, 2 children) per booking, we can only accommodate a maximum of 2 adults per booking.
Each tent has its own fire pit and there is a shared field kitchen with gas bbq, two burner hobs and simple food prep facilities, as well as tea and coffee. As there is no electricity there is no refrigerator on site, but you can rent a cooler box with a couple of bags of ice from us.
There is a compostable toilet and hot shower on site.
Each tent has a fire pit and we provide you with a basket of logs to get started, and each fire pit has an A-frame to grill on. You can buy additional baskets of logs from us.
Please note that there is no electricity and no WIFI on site...
The Grove at Melchbourne is a nature-lovers paradise, playing home to deer, foxes, rabbits, badgers, buzzards, red kites, owls and kingfishers.
You can also come and say hello to our gorgeous Shetland ponies, Dolly and Pancho.
We are also just a 2 mile walk across rolling unspoilt countryside to Strawberry Hill Farm, a rewilding site that is home to turtle doves, linnets, harvest mice and nightingales.
You can also easily walk to three lovely local country pubs, The St John's Arms, Melchbourne, The Fox & Hounds, Riseley and the Three Compasses, Dean.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was great to have a proper bed and the tent ready to go! Toilet and showers always clean and plentiful hot water and so much space between pitches. Fridge and freezer space provided which really helped, and we loved visiting the little “shop” with its eggs, dahlias and honey.. After the hot summer, the rain arrived with our visit but didn’t dampen spirits, plenty of room for us to sit inside! Take a torch for nighttime loo trips, as it is unlit. Peter made us very welcome and had good recommendations for meals out. We are already planning a trip or two next year!

Clare could not have been more hospitable, she really went above and beyond for us. The site is absolutely beautiful and the facilities and layout are brilliant. We took our 3 year old and she had a fantastic time playing, cycling her balance bike and spotting all the local wildlife including the resident ducks.
We are most definitely planing a return visit.

Me and my family loved our time at Ashcroft. Louisa was very attentive, and any request was dealt with ASAP. Beautiful little spot with a stunning sunset view. We plan to return very soon with family members as it is a perfect spot for a group booking.

This was a truly unique experience that my two boys (6 and 8) loved. Morag made us feel very welcome and gave them lots of opportunities to interact up close with the animals, the rabbits and pigs being their favourites. The camp has a relaxed feel and is really welcoming of well-behaved dogs. Having a river that the kids (and dog) can play in all day was a treat in the hot weather. I would recommend taking some cooking pans because they did get taken by other campers, making them in scarce supply. This is not a luxury experience but one that certainly puts you at ease, with comfortable surroundings and all the basics you need. My boys have talked about it every day since we have been and are keen to go back.

We can only recommend this sweet little camp site in the middle of the orchard. We stayed in a bell tent for the weekend with our 7 year old son. The tent is cosy with a lovely wood burner.
There is a communal hut kitchen with all ustensiles and board games!
We enjoyed all the fire-pit and the honesty box to buy wood logs etc.

My grandchildren and I have stayed at Brakehill Lodge Farm twice. It has proved to be our happy place. Peaceful, and just remote enough to escape the madding crowd.
Clare is a considerate host. She loves her home and all the nature it encompasses.

2 nights at The Orchard at Fen End Farm
Me and my partner loved spending a couple of nights at Fen End Farm. Our bell tent was lovely, toilets and showers were clean, kitchen space was well equipped and the farm and orchard were beautiful. Vicky and Amy were kind and helpful and the camp had a very peaceful atmosphere. Efficient self service logs and kindling and easy to buy local produce such as lollies made from apple juice from the orchard. Try the Fen End cider it’s delicious!!

1 night at Brakehill Lodge Farm Camping
We stayed in the shepards hut due to the bell tent coming down after the summer season. It was absolutely wonderful. Clare was very accommodating and the hut was fantastic. We stayed in the middle of October and did not need to light the fire inside as it maintains its warmth so well.
There was lots of fire wood for the fire pit outside, which allowed us to just relax for the evening in the warmth away from any light pollution. The toilets were clean (we didn’t use the showers so can’t comment). I was personally very happy that there was a kettle in the shepards hut to allow for lots of coffee in the evening.

Loved it and the kids did to. The hosts were amazing. The place was peaceful and picturesque. The boys enjoyed the pool table and there was lots of extras like badminton rackets and tennis rackets and croquet. I loved the barn conversion with its bar and kitchen. The flowers through the grounds were lovely and wild meadow between the tents was beautifully orchestrated. Alex and Clare were lovely and were more than accommodating so yes I would definitely love to visit again. Will miss the horses ducks and pippa the dog. Xx

Lovely bell tent. Comfy mattress. Basic site, but decent hot showers (x2) and toilets were clean.
Peter was helpful and there were fresh eggs and plums (when we were there anyway) available from the farm across the road.
We arrived with a buggy on public transport (bus), and were able to walk to the site via a footpath behind the pub, and a short walk along country road (15 mins)
Traffic from main road can be heard from the site, and there were some military aircraft manoeuvres over the weekend we were there, so it wasn't the most peaceful camping experience!
