Hunstanton Camping & Glamping

14 units · Glamping, Motorhomes, Tents2 acres · King's Lynn, England
Hunstanton Camping and Glamping with mYminiBreak is located 2 minutes walk from the beach. Heacham is a large but quiet village just on the outskirts of the seaside town of Hunstanton. Providing a range of camping pitches for tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes; you could also indulge in a ready-made stay in a Glamping Bell Tent or Shepherds Hut for a Glamping break away on the Norfolk coast. When you stay at Hunstanton Camping and Glamping with mYminiBreak you are conveniently located to explore the beach and its surrounding areas. Between the venue and the beach, you will find the entrance to a public footpath that takes you to Snettisham, a smaller and history-rich village through scenic rural countryside. It is also possible to walk to Hunstanton in the opposite direction along the promenade whilst enjoying the sea air and open views. Our campsite is one of only a handful of campsites located on the west coast of Norfolk and just a 2-minute walk from the beach gives us a prime location for watching the sunset go down in all its spectacular deep orange and red glory. Couple this with having some drinks with friends and family by your campfire or BBQ makes for a wonderful memory to share with your loved ones. We are campfire and dog friendly, and welcome your four-legged friends to stay with you across our camping and glamping accommodation Local shops only 5 minutes down the road takes a load off your mind knowing that if you forget any supplies you don't have to go without, making your experience while camping in Hunstanton a relaxed and fun time. We are a rural former dairy farm by the beach, there are free-ranging chickens and cockerels and they may make farmyard sounds, if you are a light sleeper, be sure to bring earplugs :) GLAMPERS PLEASE NOTE The Glamping Kitchenette is suitable for making small quick meals with the use of a microwave, oven & stove for cooking and grilling and a toaster and kettle, there is also a fridge provided. Showers and toilets are shared with the campsite with the exception of gas powered outside showers that are solely for glampers. We are a VERY dog-friendly venue, we welcome dogs and muddy boots and host many hikers and explorers of the Norfolk Coast, although every care has been taken to ensure very clean accommodation, it is possible that a dog hair or 2 escapes our conscientious eye, please bear this in mind and let us know should you find anything you are not happy with, we will get our housekeeping team to deal with the issue swiftly! Please note that the Glamping Bell Tents and Glamping Shepherds Huts are for 2 adults only with the exception of 1 Adult and 1 Child with prior consent from us, they are not suitable for under 2's and do not come with facilities for children or babies. White House Farm Campsite, Wardlow

60 units · Motorhomes, Tents4 acres · Wardlow, England
What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.

Campsites near Peterborough guide

Overview

Known as the Gateway to the Fens, this cathedral city on the border to Cambridgeshire boasts easy access to many attractions in the east of England, plus plenty of draws of its own. The city’s reserves, parks, river, and lakes are ideal for hikers, bikers, anglers, and boaters, while a short journey into the countryside can open up opportunities for coastal and woodland exploration. Outdoor accommodation ranges from no-frills field camping to luxury glamping, with options available year round.

Where to go

Around Peterborough

Right on the River Nene and home to several lakes, Peterborough is a destination for water lovers and anglers. Sailing, windsurfing, and open water swimming are popular activities at Nene Country Park, which also houses a campsite and caravan park. Other family-friendly options include working farms, such as Sacrewell, while glampers can choose from a range of exclusive lodges and tent sites.

The Fens

Traditional Fenland towns Whittlesey, March, Chatteris, and Wisbech are within easy reach of Peterborough, each offering unique rambling and riding opportunities. The Greenwich Meridian Trail, Fen Rivers Way, and Hereward Way all pass through the area, while adult-only campsites, touring parks, and luxury lodges offer accommodation options for all manner of Hipcampers—including fish farms and lakeside sites for keen anglers.

Thetford Forest & The Brecks

East of Cambridgeshire on the Suffolk-Norfolk border, this lowland forest is best known for its balmy microclimate and rich variety of flora and fauna. The region’s long distance trails, such as the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path Trail, are lined by rural campsites, while outdoor attractions such as Brandon Country Park and Knettishall Heath offer relaxed rambles and wildlife watching.

The Wash & Norfolk Coast AONB

Get a glimpse of England’s dramatic and varied coastline just 90 minutes northeast of Peterborough. Made up of salt marshes and mud flats, the Wash estuary is a haven for birdwatching, while sprawling beaches and small villages along the Norfolk coastline reveal a far more traditional seaside view. Coastal camping options include back-to-basics sites, glamping pods, and family-friendly holiday parks.

When to go

Camping in the east of England is most popular during the summer, though adventurers that brave the short days and cold climes of autumn and winter are rewarded with golden-hued views and far quieter campsites, though be aware that many close for the off season.

Know before you go

  • Peterborough is reasonably well connected, with the direct train from London taking just under an hour.
  • If you plan to travel to more remote spots, it’s worth hiring or driving your own vehicle.
