Peaceful, private yurt glamping in the heart of the Stamford Meadows

Stamford Meadows Glamping is tucked away in the heart of the meadows that is its namesake, its privacy ensured by the tall hazelwood trees that line it. This means that when you sink into its wood-burning hot tub, tilt your head back, and close your eyes, you can hear the local church’s bells ringing, or a train passing by, or the chirrups of the abundant local wildlife — yet no one knows you’re here. This is your own private area of solitude, a place for you and your loved ones to escape to for a while, with everything you need right on your doorstep.

Husband-and-wife team Amelia and Yogi landed on the idea for the site after Amelia’s sister held a “mini-festival” in her back garden, prompting the hosts to invest in a yurt and share the land they’ve enjoyed for years. They’ve certainly replicated that concept here, albeit without the mud-sodden clothes and uncomfortable night’s sleep, given how all of your necessities are but a stone’s throw away. Head out into the meadows straight from the site, take a short walk up the road to get into Stamford town centre, or enjoy a pint at a selection of locals that are each a stone’s throw away.

But if you’re looking to remain all but completely motionless during your stay — which is firmly possible as Amelia and Yogi even offer to pick guests up from the local train station — you can enjoy plenty of on-site R&R thanks to the alternative therapies offered by your hosts and local holistic practitioners. Yogi’s a GP with a history in acupuncture, providing sessions for visitors for an extra charge, while Amelia — a solicitor by trade — took a break from law to dive into the world of holistic therapy. As such, the couple know plenty of experts in the field of reflexology, remedial massage, aromatherapy, and more, who each visit the site to help guests reach their place of peace. Suffice to say, it’s all but guaranteed that you’ll leave this secret spot well-rested.

Orchard Yurt
The orchard yurt site was incredible comfortable. It was a perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend. The site is exactly as described, and the host Amelia was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. So many of the little details were thought of, making it a very memorable stay. Extra convenient is that the site is about a 10-15 minute walk from town, which is also a lovely place to visit.

Perfect getaway
We loved the Walnut Yurt! The attention to detail inside the yurt was amazing, including a breakfast basket with delicious options, bathrobes, and eyemasks. The hot tub was great - perfect for the cold weather. The kitchen had everything we needed and the compost toilet was clean and easy to use. The hosts were very helpful and went above and beyond, giving us great tips for nearby pubs in Stamford and dog walks. We 100% recommend this site - our first time in a yurt and we'll be back!

Brilliant!
Amazing stay. Everything was beautifully arranged and so much detail into making the whole place look brilliant. Would definitely recommend. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights and everything was amazing. The location is amazing just outside of Stamford to give you an outdoor vibe but close enough to walk into town. Amelia would go above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. Thanks so much :)
