Learn more about this land:Experience the magical Uinta Basin from the same campground Butch Cassidy and his wild bunch stayed and where they hid their gold and treasure. The Sacred Rhodes Gold mine is said to be nearby.Anisazi petroglyphs and dwellings are in the same area. If you listen closely to the silence, you can hear the wars and battles that occured in this area between ancient native peoples.Walk the many trails to the enchanted canyon below. Ancient juniper and pinyon pine trees line the wash below. There is also a large of ritual cleansing artemisia sage, which people have used the smoke to purify clothes and even themselves.The property crosses one of the oldest roads in the west. Many pioneers, miners, Native Americans and even Spanish conquistadors crossed this path. Camp Sage under the Milky Way is exactly what you get. This is a great rest area tucked away behind a hilly landscape and out of sight of Hwy 40 in Fruitland, Utah.
Wake up to the smell of sage where you will feel relaxed, calm yet experience the invigorating sense of earthy goodness. Go to bed under the stars and if you're a late nighter you'll be mesmerized at the sight of the stunning Milky Way.
There is a tent pad able to fit up to 6 people, a fire ring and spacious horseshoe driveway for parking multiple vehicles or a small to midsize RV/Camper trailer.
This is a no frills campsite where you will need to provide your own water, toilet and firewood (We can provide firewood for an extra fee). There is a rest stop with restrooms just down the road going east on hwy 40 if needed.

We loved staying here! It was nice and secluded. Didn’t have any interactions with anybody else. Beautiful views, sunsets, and starry skies. Loved all of the special touches that have been added…the firepit location, the swings and gazebo, the lights that came on at night. Highly recommend!

Read other reviews that finding the sites was a bit of a challenge because there were no markings or numbering so we planned it to make sure we arrived when there was enough daylight to find our way around. The host was very helpful and proactive in switching our initial site 8 to site 1 since we weren’t driving a AWD vehicle. We were able to find the right site relatively easy with the detour directions and google pin we received.
I will say this was a bit of a different experience than we were expecting but it turned out to be perfect. We had extra time so ended up hiking several of the trails that surprisingly were not crowded for such a nice area.
There was a lot of noise from four wheelers and cars on the main road at night so bring ear plugs if you plan to go to sleep before 10p.
The description for the Easy Access Site says it only fits 1 tent but we were able to squeeze a 2 person and 4 person tent on the established tent spot.
I recommend this camp if you are comfortable and use to dusty steep unpaved rocky roads and you plan to make use of the near by trail system.
Thanks for making this affordable unique location available for weary drivers just looking for a place to put a tent with opportunities to get a hike in if time permits.

Loved the Adventure Van Site! It was located at the very back of the resort, and had no neighbors on either side during our one night stay, very private. We arrived just before dusk, after the office had closed, a quick phone call to the host and we had all the info we needed to get settled. Wish we had more time to enjoy the amenities, the hot tub looked so inviting on the cool evening. Restrooms and showers were very well kept! Camp store in the front office had some nice souvenirs and basic supplies, as well as a coffee station! The manager, Josh, was very helpful the morning we left with questions we had about the rental camper van we had just picked up the day before - appreciate his help and kindness! The resort property does back up to train tracks, so we likely heard train noise more loudly from our site at the back of the resort than others, but only during hours we were already awake. This was the perfect halfway stop on our drive from SLC to Moab, would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to The Store
We stayed in the Zen dome on the property. It's in a charming garden area. There is also a large common area building with a kitchen, bathroom/shower, and a lounge. This is accessible day or night. The owner showed us around and was very cordial and informative.
We had a great stay. Unfortunately fire season dictates we couldn't have a campfire but no biggie in August. The dome is cool but it's not large. We brought two nice cots and the foot of my bag was sticking out the entrance a bit. There is no physical door, just a privacy curtain, so just keep that in mind.
I'd recommend this little getaway for sure, if you are into petroglyphs and Fremont culture. Check out 9 mile canyon for all of that, and not a long drive the other way is Scofield reservoir which is fun for the summer water stuff. We did both, plus the Helper Arts Festival just so happened to be going that weekend and it was excellent. I highly recommend!

4 nights at The Store
The zome is situated in the upper corner of the most magical desert garden. There are many places to sit in the garden, and each offers a gorgeous view of the garden and the cliffs in the background. The garden belongs to a historic building that's in the process of a restoration. The front porch of The Store offers a spectacular view of a huge valley. I loved spending time on the porch in the morning.
The nearby town of Helper has a historic Main Street with a nice coffee shop, art galleries restaurants, and a museum. We also went to a fun dinosaur museum in Price, UT.
But our main goal for the trip was to explore 9 Mile Canyon. The canyon is full of ancient treasures. So many petroglyphs, and a hike to a Fremont village. We had just enjoyed the work of modern artists in Helper, and our last day of the trip was panel after panel of ancient artwork.
Side note: I would only recommend the zome to someone with good mobility, who can confidently walk across uneven, sandy paths. If you are unsure, there's also an Air BNB located inside The Store that might be a better option.

We had an amazing time camping at Raspberry Ranch! My fiancé, our friends, and I spent the weekend enjoying the incredible views.
On Saturday, we visited Moon Lake, which was less than a 10-minute drive away. The water felt great, and the short distance allowed us to have more time to play in the sun!
The host was incredibly kind and provided water and electricity for our trailer. We absolutely plan on going back, and we all highly recommend this place!

Overview
About
Starvation Reservoir has enough space for everyone, and the fishing and boating here is definitely legit. How legit, you ask? Well, there’s an annual walleye fishing tournament each year that draws in the crowds...and the trophy 10+ pound fish. You don’t have to be a champion angler to enjoy this beautiful park, though. There are 3,500 acres to explore! Hop on your ATV and ride along the nearby trails or scoot in and out of remote coves and untouched beaches as you boat around on the bright blue waters. For a truly unique experience, see how well your archery skills match up to Katniss Everdeen’s at the park’s 3D archery range. When it’s time for some shut eye, retreat to your campsite (there are four primitive campgrounds and one developed campground to choose from.)
When to go
The best time to visit Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation is during the warmer months, from late spring to early fall, when the park's activities are in full swing. Winter can be harsh, with limited access and services.
