The site has beautiful views of the surrounding area and very peaceful and quiet. You will have access to drinking water but no bathroom facilities. Our amenities also include: fishing rods, comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, 2 bathroom facilities, a hot outdoor shower, walking trails, microwave, and AC. The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required.
Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31.
Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea!
Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too!
Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive.
At night, relax around the fire-pit after a long day of fun. Then have a sleep "extraordinaire” on board! (No waves to worry about with this boat!)

Galla Designs Studio is located on a lovely 22 acre farm on the oceanfront, 5 km from the ferry. It featurs a beautiful artisans storefront with over 60 local artisans, food items and coffee. It is also home to the Belle River Post office.
Please let us know if you need to arrive after 8pm.
Please see parking instructions as there is no turn around in the main driveway.
Also - the island has mosquitos so please bring bug spray.
WIFI is available at the store.
Please no generators from 10pm-8am (some exceptions may apply).
To find us Google maps sometimes does not like wood Islands as our city so please use Belle River. About 50m just west of our main entrance to the farm and store, you will see a farm road that is marked with "1167 FARM" address sign. Please use that road to come in and just after the little wooded section it will open up and you will see a picnic table to your right. You can park in there. If you need help with anything, just call my cell phone 902-326-1015 Please note that there could be another camper if booked, so please park accordingly. Store is located in the small white barn next to the white house. The black building nearest the camp area is my parents house - not the store, so plesae do not walk in there. ;) lol

Escape to a simple off-grid bunkie tucked into the woods on a private oceanfront property in southeastern Prince Edward Island.
This is a peaceful place to unplug, slow down, and enjoy nature. A short woodland trail leads to a quiet sandy beach that’s perfect for walking, swimming, beachcombing, or watching the sunrise.
The bunkie is compact but comfortable, with a queen bed, small kitchenette, seating area, solar power, Starlink Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom with a shower and composting toilet. Outside you’ll find a deck overlooking the forest and a vintage clawfoot outdoor tub with hot and cold water.
Please note that this is an off-grid accommodation. Power comes from solar, so guests are asked to be mindful of electricity use. The setting is rustic rather than luxurious, and you’ll likely encounter birds, frogs, rabbits, foxes, and other local wildlife. Mosquitoes can also be part of the experience at certain times of year, so bringing insect repellent is recommended.
If you’re looking for polished resort accommodations, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you enjoy quiet mornings, star-filled skies, the sound of the ocean, and the feeling of having your own little corner of the woods, we think you’ll love it.
We’re continually improving the property, and we’d be delighted to welcome guests who appreciate simple, peaceful places surrounded by nature.
Raised bed veggie garden onsite to pick fresh vegetables or use our equipment to walk the beach and dig for clams, then pop into the nearby vineyard/winery to sample local wines.
We are just a few minutes from the Wood Islands visitor center, local seafood restaurants, candy/ice cream store and liquor store, and an award winning Vineyard. We are a five minute drive from the Wood Islands ferry to Nova Scotia.

Very friendly hosts; the atmosphere is so welcoming that you feel like you’re among friends. The view is stunning, and the campsite is wonderful, too. The name "Glory Ridge" couldn't be more fitting. As soon as you turn off the road, you leave everyday life behind and find yourself in a little paradise. I will definitely be back!

Anne welcomed us as soon as we got there. The property is very well maintained and having full hook up and wifi was fantastic! The view on top of the hill is beautiful and peaceful. Close to a waterfall, and the Arisaig provincial park where I didn’t find fossils unfortunately.

Alan met us at the driveway and was super friendly. It was very cool to be hosted by a real native whose family has been there since the 18th Century. The site was simple and very nice, high above a tributary to Barney’s River. Unfortunately there were plenty of mosquitoes following the rain the day before.

What a great professional campsite! We were greeted well and given instructions how to get to our campiste. The site was on the smaller side but enough to fit our SUV and a tent and had water and firepit. The bathrooms were SPECTACUALR clean new and showers looked great. Walked to their beach also very lovely and you can even take out a canoe. For sure can safely recommend!

What a lovely camping spot, showers/bathrooms were such a great touch. My husband, daughter and I had a fantastic time. We’re right by the water and other fantastic sites. Hardly any bugs late August. Happy to stay somewhere that is pet friendly and the hosts are far too kind.
We left early due to rain but will definitely be back in the future, hoping to book a cottage! Thank you again Cora and David.

What a wonderful campsite! It was beautifully shaded and we had protection from the rain in our tents. Our first day consisted of fishing mackerel from the shore and eating smores by the camp fire. Our second day was spent exploring the area, floaties on the water, finding pretty rocks and searching for crab and star fish receeding with the tides. There is a drop along the edge of the site but the entrance for a launch area helped us walk down to the water. It's in a spotty service area and our extra bug spray was used but still a 10/10. A few large truck went by but it was a very peaceful and quiet. It was great that the host was accommodating. She kindly dropped off firewood and reminded us to check the burn ban restrictions each night. Make sure you have the location before hand due to the lack of cell service. I would highly recommend this spot for a memorable trip in Nova Scotia!

Chris’s land feels remote but it is also easily accessible. Book the point, the views are gorgeous and Chris has a magic rock that you can sit over/on to access WiFi. Highly recommend this spot.

Chris has a beautiful spot. It is very quiet and peaceful. It is not a traditional campground experience, and caters a bit more to the self-service camper. He's a very friendly and easy going person. We were lucky to be the only ones there with a beautiful evening. I would definitely stay again.
