The Lobster Boat Inn is located on a hill in the woods in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. It sits high and dry with no water in sight! You get the entire property to yourself. No barking dogs, loud music or annoying neighbours. No crowded RV or tent city here.

We provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. The Boat is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure.
Cook on the back deck as you drink in nature, then eat in an original ship's wheelhouse or outside at the picnic table by the fire pit. Our amenities also include: fishing rods, comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, 2 bathroom facilities, a hot outdoor shower, walking trails, microwave, and AC. The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required.
Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31.
Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea!
Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too!
Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive.
At night, relax around the fire-pit after a long day of fun. Then have a sleep "extraordinaire” on board! (No waves to worry about with this boat!)

Minutes from Northumberland Strait and beautiful Big Island BeachSite has access to River for Kayak or canoe launch which leads into Merigomish Harbour. Walking distance to convenience store and NSLC outlet. Easy drive to Cape George ( The Mini Trail ) and close to New Glasgow or Antigonish. We have beautiful orchards and blueberry fields, if you are here in July or August you can probably pick blueberries for breakfast. There is excellent biking and hiking nearby. The site has beautiful views of the surrounding area and very peaceful and quiet. You will have access to drinking water but no bathroom facilities. This 5 acre private campsite is located right off highway 316 very close to Tor Bay Provincial Park, which offers a lovely beach and trails. Basin Brook Camp features a driveway quickly leading to a flat area suitable for a trailer or tents. The property overlooks a wilderness area with stunning sunsets and quiet moonlit nights. It has a cleared area in which blackberries, raspberries and blueberries grow. At the back of this cleared area is a marked trail leading to the shoreline on Gammons Basin. Along one side of the campsite land is Basin Brook, which is a tidal stream that can be accessed easily by the road. Deer have been seen on the property, and moose, otters and seabirds nearby. Basin Brook Camp is quiet and secluded with no neighbours in sight.
Please note that this is a drive on and off site so a trailer would need to be backed in. There is no room to turn around.

You can drive to the site but it is recommended that small cars that are low to the ground park in our driveway and guests walk-in. We can arrange to drive you down beforehand if that is something you would prefer.

This property is located on River Inhabitants which is a tidal river going in and out from the North Atlantic 2x a day. We are not set up for tents yet but welcome RV's. A porta- potti and electricity are in place and running water will be available in late August. Located near the village of Cleveland and off Evanston Road. (Not sure why HC states it is near Antigonish?) Great fishing and kayaking but be mindful of the tides. Located nearby is a ranger tower to view the area and the stars above. Best to get all your supplies in Port Hawkesbury if u are just arriving on Cape Breton. Strait Richmond Hospital. is 10 min. away if needed. Please be mindful of our garden and young fruit trees. Please pack out all of you garbage as we do not have local garbage pickup... garbage can be disposed of in local towns. The town of Louisdale offers free potable water and dump station (located next to Babins Yamaha).

Chris was a great host! He greeted us at the campsite on a rainy November night and had made sure to have a roaring fire for us when we got there despite all the rain! The views from The Point in the morning were beautiful - perfect spot to enjoy coffee & breakfast in the sun. Chris came to check in on us in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed.

Hi there,
We only needed an overnight stay to keep moving toward our destination, but wow — this place was great! The sea view was amazing, everything was spotless, and we really enjoyed our short stay.
Funny story though… at 6:30 AM I accidentally opened the door to the shed beside us, thinking it was the bathroom. Pretty sure I scared the daylights out a poor lady who was sleeping in there — oops! Maybe a sign at eye level would save future guests (and sleepers) from a surprise wake-up call. 😅
Thanks again for such a wonderful spot — we’ll definitely remember this stay!

From the moment we arrived at Chris’s land we felt very welcomed. Chris was onsite to greet us and show us the camping area. The camp is a work in progress so no high-tech fancy camping facilities, but if your aim is to lay back, relax and leave the daily grind behind this is your place. The campsites are along the shore and at low tide a great walk. Our site enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and after a full day of exploring the area we took our camp chairs to the shoreline to watch the magnificent sunset over the water. The camp is 30 mins from groceries and gas. Chris allows dogs to roam off leash and our pup loved the freedom. Chris and his mom Gail check in with you daily to talk and answer your questions and they go out if their way to help make your stay comfortable.
We booked for one night and immediately booked a second night. We ended up spending 5 nights. Thank you Chris and Gail

Steve greeted us and was helpful and friendly. Easy to follow directions. This was a super special tenting spot for us. No other tenters on the two nights we were there. Private, it looked like two other sites near ours, and spacious. Picnic table. Flat, grassy, shade and sun, nestled in spruce trees. Near a well thought out outhouse with a lantern and a few solar lights for nighttime use. Neat, easy to use, private outside shower. Clean, quiet,
good for star gazing. We would love to stay here again. Close to Arisaig and the Provincial Park and Antigonish. Grateful for this sweet spot.

It is a beautiful place on the edge of the ocean! Definitely worth stopping on your eastern shore road trip. We had 3 tents and all found flat spots. Burn ban was in effect but no big deal because the night sky was lit up. Minimal light pollution here.

The off-leash area for our dog was a huge bonus; she had the time of her life running free and playing by the shore. Chris was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. Very easy to book. The site was nice and level, tucked away on their side yard. Adjacent to a pond. We were only there for a brief time but it was the perfect location on our travels going west. I would avoid the restaurant down the street. Nice folks but vibe, food and drinks left a lot to be desired. Also, bring bug spray in the summer.

What a beautiful campground and in an excellent location! The view is stunning and the campground is beautifully designed. Wonderfully rustic with an outhouse and outdoor shower.
