On a ridgetop site at Glory Ridge, I had a fantastic view over the ocean. Steve and Ann were helpful and welcoming hosts and provided a handout with useful information about wifi, the outdoor shower, trash and recycling. I would stay at Glory Ridge again.

Hi there, We only needed an overnight stay to keep moving toward our destination, but wow — this place was great! The sea view was amazing, everything was spotless, and we really enjoyed our short stay. Funny story though… at 6:30 AM I accidentally opened the door to the shed beside us, thinking it was the bathroom. Pretty sure I scared the daylights out a poor lady who was sleeping in there — oops! Maybe a sign at eye level would save future guests (and sleepers) from a surprise wake-up call. 😅 Thanks again for such a wonderful spot — we’ll definitely remember this stay!

This is an exceptional spot for off-grid camping. It is peaceful, secluded and with an amazing view across the river. Chris is a friendly host, with whom we had a great chat and learned about his family history on the land. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Wild Islands Camping by the Sea

From the moment we arrived at Chris’s land we felt very welcomed. Chris was onsite to greet us and show us the camping area. The camp is a work in progress so no high-tech fancy camping facilities, but if your aim is to lay back, relax and leave the daily grind behind this is your place. The campsites are along the shore and at low tide a great walk. Our site enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and after a full day of exploring the area we took our camp chairs to the shoreline to watch the magnificent sunset over the water. The camp is 30 mins from groceries and gas. Chris allows dogs to roam off leash and our pup loved the freedom. Chris and his mom Gail check in with you daily to talk and answer your questions and they go out if their way to help make your stay comfortable. We booked for one night and immediately booked a second night. We ended up spending 5 nights. Thank you Chris and Gail Patricia, Tim and Luna

The point of the point is the view, as there is no cell service [though they do hope to remedy that issue], and no washrooms. That said Chris and his mother were wonderful and hospitable. The view is jaw dropping, and that alone is worth the stay. Also an amazing place to get away from everything.

Steve greeted us and was helpful and friendly. Easy to follow directions. This was a super special tenting spot for us. No other tenters on the two nights we were there. Private, it looked like two other sites near ours, and spacious. Picnic table. Flat, grassy, shade and sun, nestled in spruce trees. Near a well thought out outhouse with a lantern and a few solar lights for nighttime use. Neat, easy to use, private outside shower. Clean, quiet, good for star gazing. We would love to stay here again. Close to Arisaig and the Provincial Park and Antigonish. Grateful for this sweet spot.

The Lobster Boat has been one of our highlight of our trip around Nova Scotia! David took great care welcoming us in his unique place he built and we had a great time exploring the space. It is a peaceful place, yet pretty close to Antigonish city with all the amenities. Bonus point for being pet friendly!

It is a beautiful place on the edge of the ocean! Definitely worth stopping on your eastern shore road trip. We had 3 tents and all found flat spots. Burn ban was in effect but no big deal because the night sky was lit up. Minimal light pollution here.

We had an amazing camping experience here! The spot was peaceful and surrounded by nature, with direct access to the water. The off-leash area for our dog was a huge bonus; she had the time of her life running free and playing by the shore. Chris was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. A beautiful, quiet escape we’ll definitely return to.

Very easy to book. The site was nice and level, tucked away on their side yard. Adjacent to a pond. We were only there for a brief time but it was the perfect location on our travels going west. I would avoid the restaurant down the street. Nice folks but vibe, food and drinks left a lot to be desired. Also, bring bug spray in the summer.

What a beautiful campground and in an excellent location! The view is stunning and the campground is beautifully designed. Wonderfully rustic with an outhouse and outdoor shower. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. A place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. A place you'll gladly return to. I'm glad I found this place; it's a hidden gem.

The Lobster Boat Inn is located on a hill in the woods in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. It sits high and dry with no water in sight! You get the entire property to yourself. No barking dogs, loud music or annoying neighbours. No crowded RV or tent city here. Contact your host to adjust min. nights required. (standard 2 - 1 possible for a specific requested date.) Contact host David in advance. We provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. The Boat is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure. Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea! Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too! Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive. (Not sure why HC states it is near Antigonish?) Great fishing and kayaking but be mindful of the tides. Located nearby is a ranger tower to view the area and the stars above. Best to get all your supplies in Port Hawkesbury if u are just arriving on Cape Breton. Strait Richmond Hospital. is 10 min. away if needed. Please be mindful of our garden and young fruit trees. Please pack out all of you garbage as we do not have local garbage pickup... garbage can be disposed of in local towns. The town of Louisdale offers free potable water and dump station (located next to Babins Yamaha).

We have 2 properties, at our home site we are on hill overlooking Upper MacMillin Lake in the village of Kemp Road. If you kayak/canoe this river will take you out to the ocean to explore the islands. we recently installed electricity and an outhouse and will have running water coming in September 2025. The amazing Cabot Trail is a day trip from our locations. Enjoy great kayaking/canoeing from our locations! **Nova Scotia does have a website to view for indication of fires to be allowed for the present day.
