We have one private site available for tent and RV/trailer campers. The site is level and grassy and it can accommodate vehicles up to 30ft in length.

We also have a new tiny home situated beside our field where the llamas, goats and sheep hang out, with a covered deck and firepit area.

You can visit the Oyster River Hatchery, check out the seals and sea lions in Seal Bay Regional Park, do some saltwater fishing for salmon, or even rent a go-cart and race around the Saratoga Speedway, or just watch others do it.

There is a resort and marina across the road and an Italian kitchen restaurant . Shelter Point Distillery property is adjacent to the property. The property does have an outhouse, electrical plug-in option at house and water hose close to house. This place is best suited for self-contained campers who can park in the open field or under fir trees near to the house. Tents, smaller travel trailers and camper vans can be accommodated.
In the early 1900s, a hotel was on the property that serviced the ships heading north in the straight and those travelling between Campbell River and Courteney. The area is within 2 km of two large sand beaches, a Chinese restaurant, and a Spa. Between Salmon Point and Courtney, you will find farm land with local fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat for sale and wineries.

Welcome to Goats and Boats, 40 acres of poplar trees planted in straight(ish) rows about 25 years ago. Since then the alders and the evergreens have started to join the party in a big way. The property is a work in progress with a little more space opened up each year. We don't have a lot for amenities, but we have quiet space in nature and animals to visit on your way to/from the outhouse. If you are wanting quiet spaces in nature, that is what we have.
We have some grassy areas for tents and RVs. Pets are welcome, but they need to be leashed in respect for the goats' peace and freedom.
We are on a gravel road about 2 km from the popular Coombs market (with goats on the roof!).
We are a young-ish professional couple with an ever increasing number of very friendly Nigerian dwarf goats, some rabbits, some ducks and two pigs.
The number of animals is subject to vary without notice! So ask us before booking if it's important to you. But there are always goats roaming the yard, rabbits running about daily. Deer show up occasionally.
As you can see in the photos, our property is more wild. It is not a manicured park but we do try to take good care of it and we hope you will too.
There are a lot of activities in the area including go-karts, hiking in provincial parks (Englishman River Falls Parks, Qualicum River Falls Park). Mt Arrowsmith is a challenging hike about 30 minutes drive away. Cathedral Grove is about 20 minutes away. There is lovely swimming and great beaches at Parksville and Qualicum, and much more.

We stayed at Colin's property for one frosty night in January. The site was easy to locate and get situated even in the dark hours of our arrival. Come morning we discovered a beautiful forest and marsh space with many ponds. Wild birds were warming up in the morning sun as we had a quick breakfast before heading out. The space was perfect for a private & safe stay among nature.

We loved tent camping on Paul's property, we drove around and looked at every site and ended up picking site 8 for it's privacy and cute little pond area, though we would have been ecstatic with any of the sites as they were all private and tidy. Boyd and Ace (resident campers we ran into) were also very kind and Ace was fun to pet! (He's a dog haha) the ocean was walking distance away which was also very nice. Paul even offered to deliver firewood to us and build us a cozy campfire! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a secluded, private, clean place to camp. We'll definitely be back next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Little Cedars Hideaway. Our host was very accommodating and communication was great. It is a very calm and peaceful Hipcamp and the full hookups were very nice. Our site was large and level and the other sites seemed the same. Having laundry and wifi on site was a bonus. We hope to stay here again soon when we travel to mid Vancouver Island. Came back for a second night knowing that finding something else in a busy holiday weekend was like playing chicken:) neighboring campers were all quiet and friendly and Paul was accessible if we needed anything. Nice touches like signage and clearly marked spot, clean potty, water. Thanks for giving us a nice spot on our journey! Probably one of the best most welcoming hip camps we have ever stayed in!!!! Would definitely recommend a stay here. Close to fun mountain biking and beach resort and lake options too. Thanks!

Lovely, quiet spot to return to after exploring the island. There’s a great path that runs along the beach. There’s an outhouse, water, and loads of blackberries for breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay at Alpaca Woodland! Roger was an above and beyond host- he came out during a thunderstorm to offer extra shelter for our tent. The animals were so cool to meet and the location was wonderful for exploring the Qualicum Beach area. We’ll be back and would highly recommend!
