We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house. If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended. The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. All guests are welcome to use the common kitchen, located at the top of the property. Guests are also welcome to use the two kayaks and two paddleboards provided by the owners. There are plenty of scenic trails, hidden bays, and beautiful viewpoints to explore nearby, as well as throughout the Sunshine Coast. Madeira Park and Pender Harbour are both only about 20 minutes away by car. Please note: A small ferry terminal is nearby, which adds a bit of local coastal activity during the day. We absolutely loved our stay at the lovely little cabin – it was all super comfy, and exactly what we needed. It was great to have the picnic table outside. We set up our propane stove and cooked ourselves some yummy dinner and breakfast. The raspberries were ripe in the garden and super tasty! I loved my stay at the portal! So close to the lake, perfect for a morning swim - close to town to get groceries/food, on a very quiet road (probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time). She greeted us and showed us around the gardens and facilities when we arrived. It was the perfect jumping off point for our day trip to Qualicum Beach, Cathedral Grove, Tofino and Uclulet!

Great spot! Easy to find. Susan and Tony were so welcoming. A brief check in to ensure we have everything we need. The wood stove was such a treat and really made it cozy. Beautiful trails nearby and the beach is so close.
