Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away. ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer. In the winter, access is an ice road. A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. If you're looking to kick back, be close to flowers and birds, and be in peace and quiet, then this is your place! The property is like a picture card. A very pastoral setting. Great care has obviously been taken to create a true home away from home, with all the right modern touches mixed in with the cottage decor. Loads of natural light pour through the windows, and a high ceilings, lend a sense of spaciousness. There is more than enough porch space to enjoy, with lots of outdoor seating and loads of cushions and blankets for cool nights. Of course there is also a barbeque with all of the tools, etc. You won't have to bring a thing with you, because everything from home is provided in this space; thoughtfully prepared and placed. It was fun to choose a bicycle for a ride along the trails, and a lunch visit to the nearby pub restaurant. The water at the river is very gentle, and perfect for kayaking. A fabulously, comfortable king size bed, and a sofa and chaise lounge that opens to a bed for two more people. If you want a bit of seclusion away from the rush of life, but you still want to connect with warm friendly people, this has just the right blend for you. The hosts are wonderful, folks who are so sweet, friendly and helpful. They were always easily available and very responsive to any questions or needs, but respectful of your privacy and need for quiet, if that's what you're looking for. This property knocks it out of the park for us. We will definitely return!

Quick getaway for my boyfriend’s birthday. The dome exceeded our expectations . It was beautiful and well designed and thought out - small meaningful touches made it feel cozy and at home. Location was very private and secluded which was exactly what we were looking for. The host was very responsive and quick to inform us of anything important we needed to know. Only recommendation would be to dress incredibly warm as evening cools off and heating was limited throughout the night. We will definitely plan to be back during the summer months.

We made a two day getaway to Salmon Arm. The Heritage Golf Course at Salmon Arm Golf Club was only a short drive away. Cabin #2 was fairly new and super clean. The hosts were super friendly and very helpful to answer any questions. We had a campfire and the wood was provided. We highly recommend this cabin.

The place is awesome! I really loved it and had a great time. 😊 Just a heads-up, there is no cell signal, so it’s better to prepare in advance. It’s also about a 10-minute walk to the place. I would suggest putting up a sign outside, as it took us a little while to find the location. A signboard would make it much easier for guests to find you. The kayaks are available there, which is a nice bonus. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Darcy's place was amazing! We spent a day fishing and swimming at Gardom Lake, quick 5 minute drive away, beautiful sandy beach. The cabin was perfect, with campfire wood supplied, a grill and a picnic table. We also went to the hot tub at Darcy's place! It was all so pretty. Weekend Trip to Deep Creek Cabin And Tents

Absolutely loved the Tipi! Set up was great, such amazing sleeps on the beds with the fresh air, propane provided to keep the chill out of the air with the propane fire pit in the middle. Absolutely clear skies to see all the stars and satellites and milky way. Got to watch a thunder storm rolling through but not hit us which was amazing. Outdoor hot tub and the outdoor shower are both amazing. Love that this option is available to just show up and not really need to bring alot but still get to camp. Make sure you have a AWD or 4WD vehicle with some clearance to get up the hill to camp site, especially if there has been any rain. If coming to the area again we will definitely be looking at it again or even trying on of the cabins!

We loved Deb's cabin and her hospitality. Everything was well taken care of and there were a lot of thoughtful touches. The area was quiet and the river off their property was very calm. I would recommend this to friends and family, it was very relaxing staying here.

Deep Creek Cabin is in a good location and Darcy very nice and accommodating. We stayed in a cabin which was lovely, cozy and comfortable. There are compost toilets, Outdoor shower and sink with h potable water. I highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time at Deep creek cabins. The cabins are amazing and we slept so well. The serene environment was a pleasure to wake up to. There is an amazing donut shop up the road which serves sourdough and regular donuts and a couple is sandwiches. Darcy is an amazing host…. You won’t be disappointed

This place was incredibly peaceful. It is a perfect blend of luxury and roughing it: cooking and eating outside but sleeping on luxurious sheets in a comfortable queen size bed. A pit toilet and outdoor wash house but power available and air conditioning!
