The beautiful beaches of southern Georgian Bay are a short drive or bike ride away. Located close to many historical and natural sites.
Our large secluded, pine forest campsite has a pine needle floor to make for a soft ground. It comes equipped with a small shelter, hammock, fire pit, grills, some cooking utensils and a composting outhouse. It's located beside a lovely creek with space to explore. Free range eggs and seasonal produce are available for purchase. Please respect the forest and only use the firewood that is available on the property. No check in after 6pm.

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

The Tay trail for cycling is 3 kms away as well as all amenities 10 minutes down the road in Midland. Bonfires, horseshoe pits and clean fresh air. 5 minute frive to "Saint Marie among the Hurons, Indian village and the Wye marsh, which contains many live birds of prey in cages as well as miles of boardwalks through the marsh and guided canoe trips as well.

A hiking trail extends along the entire property and an on-site micro pond near the LOOKOUT site. Located steps to Tom Thomson Trail, 2km to Irish Mountain Lookout, and within minutes of Meaford, multiple Bruce Trail trailheads, and Georgian Bay beaches.
Hunt club at adjacent property fires occasionally and its property boundary is shown on the web page map and also marked with signage.
The TINY HOUSE caravan is close by the house with power access.
The HIVE site is closer to the house for easier vehicle access and proximity to the compost toilet and house wifi.
The TREE ISLAND site is across the creek and surrounded by fields.
The LOOKOUT site is further still with more of a view of the surrounding landscape.

Consider this more of a backcountry camping experience. The land is not very developed. There are some paths and cleared sites but it is still just wild forest. This is best for experience backcountry campers or people looking for adventure or historic / anachronistic camping.
There is an old fashion outhouse. No water or electricity or wifi provided.
We are always improving and looking to host larger groups in the future.
The land is relatively flat with mature trees and little undergrowth. Ground cover is mostly leaves and sandy soil.
There are a couple small swampy areas that are beautiful in their own way with mossy rocks and woodland pools.
There are mosquitoes, be prepared.

Tucked away in the heart of Carling Township, this private 44-acre property offers a peaceful wilderness retreat surrounded by forest, open meadows, exposed Canadian Shield rock and a secluded 10-acre inland lake.
One of the property’s most memorable features is the broad meadow below the hill. It faces the neighbouring W-Ranch and offers sweeping views across the fields and surrounding countryside. Horses and ranch activity can sometimes be seen in the distance, giving the landscape the peaceful character of the European countryside.
Sunrise over the ranch, sunset over our private lake. This is an ideal base for guests seeking quiet surroundings, open space and nature while remaining close to some of the best destinations in the Georgian Bay area.
A Convenient Base for Exploring
• Killbear Provincial Park — approximately 15 minutes by car
• Parry Sound — approximately 20 minutes by car
• Carling Township public boat launch — approximately 8 minutes by car
Use of the township boat launch is free for Carling Township residents. Other visitors should confirm any applicable fees and current township rules.
The Property
Our 44 acres include a remarkable variety of natural landscapes, each with its own character:
• 🌾 A broad meadow with beautiful open views toward W-Ranch
• 🏔️ Exposed Canadian Shield rock formations overlooking the countryside
• 🌲 Forest trails leading toward the adjoining Crown land
• 🌿 Quiet spaces for morning walks and relaxed afternoons
• 🔥 Natural clearings for campfires and stargazing
• 🦌 Plenty of space for wildlife watching and outdoor exploration
From the elevated Canadian Shield rock and the meadow below, guests can enjoy an unusual combination of rugged Northern Ontario wilderness and peaceful ranch scenery. The open fields, distant horses and changing evening light create an atmosphere reminiscent of the European countryside.
W-Ranch is privately owned neighbouring property and is not part of the campground. Guests are asked to respect the property boundary and enjoy the ranch views from our land.
Beyond our property boundary are approximately 200 acres of adjoining Crown land, offering additional opportunities for hiking and backcountry exploration. Guests are responsible for following all applicable Crown land regulations and respecting the natural environment.
Camping Areas and Privacy
The campground is divided into three distinct camping areas:
• Meadow
• Lakeside
• Shield
The lakeside hosts up to 4 groups, the meadow up to 5, and the Shield a single group. Depending on current bookings, several groups may be staying on the property at the same time. The campsites are thoughtfully spaced to provide guests with comfortable personal space and a good degree of privacy.
However, booking an individual campsite does not include exclusive use of the entire 44-acre property or the lake. The lake, forest trails, Crown land access routes and certain common outdoor areas may be shared with other registered campground guests.
Because the property is large and the three camping areas each have their own landscape and atmosphere, guests can normally enjoy a peaceful, spacious and uncrowded outdoor experience even when other groups are staying on the property.
Guests who would like exclusive use of the entire campground for their family or group are welcome to contact the host before booking. Depending on availability, group size and specific requirements, dates and pricing for a private campground booking can be arranged separately.
The Lake
A secluded 10-acre inland lake borders the property and is especially beautiful during the spring and fall. There is no public road or public boat launch directly on the lake, so the setting is normally quiet and undisturbed.
Although the lake cannot be reached by a public road or public boat launch, other registered campground guests may also use it. Unless exclusive use of the entire campground has been arranged in advance, the lake is not reserved for any one individual campsite or group.
Lake conditions change naturally with the seasons. During the warmest part of summer—most commonly in July and August—floating aquatic vegetation and duckweed may accumulate along the shoreline closest to the campground. When this occurs, the immediate campground shoreline is not suitable for swimming or launching a boat.
Clearer, more open water can generally be found approximately 150 metres farther along the shoreline. Guests whose main priority is swimming, paddling or boating should plan to use nearby Killbear Provincial Park or Georgian Bay, where excellent public water-access options are available.
A 12-foot aluminum boat with a four-stroke motor may be available to rent when lake conditions permit. The rental fee is $60 per day, including fuel. Please confirm availability and lake conditions before booking the boat.
Who This Campground Is For
This property is especially well suited to couples, families and independent outdoor travellers looking for:

This is a natural wilderness property rather than a developed beach or resort. Guests who appreciate nature, changing seasonal conditions and an authentic back-to-nature experience will feel most at home here.
Access, Shared Areas and Respect for the Land
The lake is bordered by our private property and adjoining Crown land, with no public road or public boat launch directly on the water. The area is secluded and normally very quiet.
However, Crown land remains publicly accessible, and several groups may be staying at the campground at the same time. Complete exclusivity of the lake, trails or property therefore cannot be guaranteed unless private use of the entire campground has been arranged with the host in advance.
Please treat the lake, forest and surrounding landscape with care, follow Leave No Trace principles and leave the property as you found it.
Stay Connected
Although the setting feels remote, cell reception is strong throughout most of the property thanks to a nearby tower—giving you peace of mind without sacrificing peace and quiet.

This is such a beautiful spot, and there is so much to explore in the surrounding area! We were able to relax and spend time at our site, and it was so peaceful! Lucie was an amazing host, and we will definitely be back! We also fell in love with the free-range chickens and two pups they have! Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this Hipcamp to others. The property has a beautiful, natural setting that really reminded us of being in a park. It's peaceful, well maintained added bonus of the family dogs Bo and Holly added touch. The property is conveniently located just a short drive from Awenda Provincial Park, as well as nearby shops and amenities.
The hosts were welcoming it was a unique experience, and a lovely place to relax, explore the surrounding area we appreciated our time there. One thing to note the 5G cell coverage is not the greatest best to put your phone in LTE which can be quite lagging.

We just came back from a wonderful family getaway at Lucie’s place in Tiny, Ontario — and it was perfect! We rented a travel trailer and parked it right on her beautiful property. The space was peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature, with tons of room and trails to explore. Our kids absolutely loved the private playground and especially feeding the chickens! Lucie and her family were very welcoming and made sure everything was just right for our stay. We’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the outdoors!
