Welcome to Minnopa State Park Group Campground. Derived from the Dakota language, “minneopa” actually translates to “water falling twice,” an homage to the park’s enamoring waterfalls. Dotted with just a few group campsites that are capable of accommodating upwards of fifteen people each, Minneopa State Parks Group Campground is the perfect get-together spot for you next group endeavour. And, just six-hundred-feet from the parking area, a short hike prior to arrival will get your stay started out right.

The campground is in a separate portion of the park, away from the falls.

By far the most beautiful place within hours of the area! The waterfalls and the sandstone cliffs covered in moss and carved with hundreds of names make for a beautiful place for photos. Although it is not recommended to swim in the water due to bacterium fecalia (bacteria coming from animal feces) we swam in it a few months ago and so far we are perfectly fine! As long as you have no open sores I would definitely take a dip!
