Paradise on Lake Texoma (formerly Paradise Cove) is a beautiful, secluded commercial campground located in the "Big Mineral Arm'' of Lake Texoma. Built in the 80's by the Corps of Engineers, Paradise has been a mainstay of the lake for many years. Recently, the current management team are working to grow Paradise into something special. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake!
The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos!
We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding.
The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.
In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family.

In the early 1900’s an iconic red barn was built near the hilltop along the road between the old Mt. Zion community and Collinsville. Later in the 1900’s, the land was mostly abandoned by its owners, but not by the local fishermen! They knew its woodland fishing pond never dried up, and so was able to support a better population of fish. They also dumped a cornucopia of old motorcycles, cars and farm equipment in the front field. What else were you supposed to do with scrap metal in North Texas horse country?
In 2002 the Holtzman family purchased the 35 acre tract of land. They dug a front pond for swimming and paddling, buried the scrap metal (although occasional bits of history still work their way up!), restored and brought horses back to the barn, and began consulting with local biologists about supporting native wildlife.
April Holtzman launched Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center on the property to provide a beautiful, safe place for families to explore and learn about nature. Camp Tonkawa continues to host overnight and day camps with educational programing organized around various themes including: Native American culture, nature awareness, basic camping skills, primitive survival, organic gardening, herbology, outdoor cooking, western days, and horsemanship. We also host field trips and frequently conduct Girl Scout journeys for all levels in the "It's Your Planet, Love it!" series.
Due to Covid-19, which limited working with groups for our educational programing, we joined Hip Camp where families who could isolate in nature together on our property.

We are located next door to 555 Vineyard and the Vineyard Tasting room. Also, check out downtown Valley View with local restaurants including Blue Bonnet Cafe, York N Ale, Hess Meat Market, and Firelight Vineyard just 7 minutes away. Edge of the Lake Vineyard is also 7 minutes away.
Drinking water is available at the campsites from a water hydrant. No electricity is available at campsites. There are no bathroom amenities here. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace.

Beaver’s Pond is situated in the sweetest town of Texas Honey Grove.There is a picnic table a fire pit and a bbq grill in front of the cabin & there is a gas stove, mini fridge and a water heater. There is not city water or electricity, but If you bring a power station or generator, you will have electricity. There is a water well in the cabin with a water pump. There is a wood burning stove inside. The bathroom is outside on the left side of the cabin with toilet sink and shower. There are two kayaks and a paddle board for you to use. Beware of beaver holes when walking outside of the cabin and please don’t cross the pond, it’s my neighbors property.

We live on a family owned second, third and working on fourth, generation ranch. We run cattle, sheep and goats and even have a donkey or two at any given time. We also have a few chickens, barn cats and friendly dogs. This is a working ranch, so it is bustling with farm work activities. You can primitive camp in the woods if you want a little less hustle and bustle or by the 20 acre lake if fishing is your passion. We also have a small primitive cabin available by the lake. We also have a canoe and kayak available for rent.
You might camp during hay season and you can observe hay cutting, raking, and baling. Or perhaps during pecan season and see pecan harvesting. If you stay during calf weaning season, be prepared to hear lots of mooing and bawling!
You can request to add hands on adventures too. Feed Jasper (the head donkey) peppermints, pet the goats and sheep. Feed the chickens, maybe gather eggs.

My family and I had a great weekend camping at site 15. Everything was clearly marked and well maintained. This site is pretty private although 14 is somewhat nearby. Also has a walking trail going through the back of it but no big deal.
Also had the pleasure of meeting Walt on our way to have brunch which was pretty cool.
Sherry was our waitress at the winery for brunch and she was exceptional, she also took the time to give us a lot of background on the ranch which was great. My family and I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to this is Paradise on Lake Texoma
We had an amazing time during a wintery getaway during an ice/snow storm this past weekend. We had the entire cabin area to ourselves (yes I was told 100x by friends we were crazy to go to Texoma for a snow storm) and our Kabana 9 could not have been cuter. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Staff did a fantastic job making sure we had extra blankets to stay warm and jugs of water. The hosts even came by to see how we were doing on Day 2. Was a gorgeous location before and after the snow. The bathrooms were amazing and clean. We are sold and will be back again in the warmer spring weather.

The host of the property was very nice, called to help me get to the property, even had offered brunch the next morning, this hospitality is extremely rare in my book, but that’s just the host, let me talk about the site, I chose original tent site 7, it was nice, had a tree in the center and somewhat tucked into the trees, gave just the right amount of a hideaway and open valley that I absolutely loved it. I absolutely love how the site was well maintained, this means not only do the campers have respect for the property, but the host does too. I would definitely consider coming back again. Maybe with a bigger tent because I managed to grab the smallest one I own. The property might be a bit out there, but the scenic drive is a win.

Loved this spot! The view was amazing, right by the water. The cabin was cozy and the restrooms very nice, loved that there were individual restrooms/shower. The provided fire pit, sink, and grill at each site made it easy to cook campfire meals. Will definitely be back!

I loved fishing on Susan’s land. Beautiful day in late December, caught lots of fish. Spend the day kayaking around looking for the ultimate big bass. Finally, caught the big one right before I packed up. My two dogs had the best time running and swimming for hours. I was able to meet Susan and her husband, super nice people. I would highly recommend this place.

About
Along with the best views of Lake Texoma, Eisenhower State Park has everything lakeside campers might need, including miles of hiking and biking trails blooming with Texan wildflowers, rocky shores dotted with lake fossils, and dedicated OHV trails for an extra dose of adrenaline. Getting on the water is a must, whether you bring your own boat, rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, or cool off at the swimming cove. Don’t forget your fishing tackle, as the lake is teeming with striped bass, crappie, and catfish. Campers can choose from six campgrounds and a cabin.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for swimming: Elm Point Campground has 13 sites with electric and water hookups, and is closest to the swimming area.
- Best for fishing: Bois D’Arc Campground boasts a strategic location with access to both the fishing pier and boat ramp.
- Best for late arrivals: Overflow Campground has 11 non-reservable sites for tents or RVS.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve campsites at the park’s five main campgrounds in advance via the Texas State Parks website. Campsites at the Overflow Campground are first-come, first-served.
- Campsite reservations open five months in advance.
- Campsites book up fast for summer and holiday weekends—book as early as possible, especially if you have a particular site in mind (such as campsite #179 with its unbeatable lake views).
When to go
Eisenhower State Park is open year-round, but it can get busy anytime from spring through fall. Daytime temperatures can reach over 90°F in summer, so make an early start if you want to hike. It’s sometimes warm enough to swim in late spring, and this is the most scenic time to hike, when wildflowers begin to bloom along the trails. However, April and May are typically the wettest months, so come prepared.
Know before you go
- Eisenhower State Park is located 80 miles north of Dallas, or about a 1.5-hour drive away.
- Park entrance fees are required in addition to camping fees, and general entrance reservations can be made up to one month in advance.
- Facilities in the park include restrooms, picnic benches, two fishing piers, fish washing stations, and a park store selling souvenirs, firewood, and snacks. You can also purchase groceries and camping supplies in Denison, a 15-minute drive away.
- You can bring your own boat or watercraft, or rent kayaks, standup paddleboards, or pontoon boats from Eisenhower Yacht Club.
- Birdwatching is a highlight, so pack your binoculars.

These campsites are very nice with a beautiful view. It can get pretty windy but worth the view and sound of the water.

Lots of great wooded sites with fire pits and picknick tables. Make sure to bring your own firewood if you can. Hike down the hill to the beach on a sunny day if they water level is good! Really great outdoor getaway for Dallas residents as its not too far of a drive.
