Great Falls

The Great Falls of the Missouri River are comprised of a system of five waterfalls that stretches 10 miles through the city of Great Falls, Montana. Big Falls and the Rainbow Dam are two of the more picturesque falls on the river and are found just to the north of town. Great Falls is a city rich in American history. Lewis and Clark famously named several of the falls on their journey and an island amidst the falls was later named after their Shoshani guide, Sacajawea. The Rivers Edge Trail will take you on an informative journey through the beautiful riverside parks where picnicking and outdoor amenities are plentiful.
