So far, there are 5 primitive cabins as well as a 2 bedroom 1-1/2 bath cottage. We plan on building more as the campground grows. There will be 11 rv sites with full hook-ups very soon. There are several primitive tent sites thru out, many of which are creek side.

We have lots of amenities and activities for our guests to enjoy while staying with us! The campground features 150 acres including a 1.5 mile hike to the top of Buck Hill Mountain with amazing views! The river is stocked with trout for fisherman and is also the perfect place to enjoy lazy rides in our river tube rentals. The campground also has 2 pickleball courts and a basketball court, a sandbox/swing area for kids, and a state of the art Arcade with billiards, air hockey, pinball machines, and video games. During the summer and fall months, we do "movies under the stars" with our huge 275" inflatable movie screen! We also offer a dedicated fiber wifi service that allows guests to surf/zoom/stream all over the property. We have 6 full service tiny home cabins (with full kitchens and bathroom inside) as well the budget minded camping cabins (with electricity but guests use the campground bath house as there is no plumbing inside). All our cabins have their own fire pit and picnic table. The campground also has a laundry room, Gathering Room (with a TV as well as a library of books, dvds, and board games) and a Pavilion area with tables for our guests to enjoy.

The closest town is Hot Springs, which is 20 minutes away and the Hot Springs are a definite must-see if that peaks your interest! The town itself is also pretty cool. There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river. Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you!

Several primitive campsites are available, including within-feet parking. Running water, solar shower and outhouse available. 2 sites accommodate groups in the open fields or be a little more isolated in the lush forest that overlooks the mountain and stream. 1.5 hours from Gatlinburg. 1 hour from Knoxville, Asheville, NC, Cumberland gap, Kentucky and Virginia. Lost arts and craft classes available. Water sports 15 minutes away. This is a working farm with chickens, quail, rabbits and a horse. Wedding venue sites available, with off road parking. Pavillion, bathhouse, laundry, outdoor kitchen, gym, school room, barns and treasure barn full of event decor and rentable equipment coming soon. Community firepit or portable firepit at your site available. Meal preparation is available for a fee, we take pride in our seed to sandwich / farm to fork practices. This cabin is next to a bathhouse. There is a mens and womens restroom. Both restrooms are equipped with 6 showers, 4 stalls, and 8 sinks. You will have complete access to restrooms and showers. You will also have access to the gameroom and exercise room. Across from the cabin is a large pasture and our animals.

Our farm is located within Jefferson National Forest in Craig County Virginia and one of the most scenic in our state. We have about 500 acres and only groomed camp spots with the closest two being 350 yards apart, so privacy is not a concern and what you will get. All but one of our spots are directly beside a crystal-clear creek (Johns Creek) and the other is nestled in the woods at the end of a field beside one of our ponds. Wildlife abounds at all spots, we even have Bald Eagles that are on our farm everyday. Once you see and experience our farm, we know you will absolutely love your decision for choosing us to stay with. We are very close to great hiking and biking as well. Only mins away from Virginia's Triple Crown of Hiking including McAfee Knob (the most photographed spot on the entire Appacian Trail). How The Country, LLC got its name: Being raised in Roanoke VA, I was “always” asking my parents if we were going to “The Country” where my grandparents lived in what we now call our little slice of heaven. After spending over 30 years away in the USAF (WTH...POL!!!), we returned home and couldn't wait to find a way to let others enjoy all our farm and the place I have always loved more than anywhere in the world! When trying to come up with the name, it came down to Granny and Granddaddy’s or The Country and you can guess which one we though would be the best! 😊 Portions of our farm are in its 5th generation (me) of ownership, and I hope it stays in our family for many years to come. That my friends is how and why "The Country, LLC" came to be and got its name! We will do everything we can to make your stay, no matter how long or short a special one! Our Sanctuary features two main areas: Mountain Tops, or Creekside sites. Immerse yourself in beauty and adventure, with waterfalls, a rushing creek, fishing, and camping. Our creek properties include the Creekside Cabin, and Waterfall Haven (multiple camping site options, with their own areas by the creek). Guests have room to explore the mossy wonderland along Hornbuckle Creek, take a dip in a swimming hole, take an adventure and follow a rough trail (at your own risk) to another waterfall, accessed across the creek, or just kick back and relax. (Note to guests: Trail has not been maintained since last year. Go at your own risk.) Our mountaintop options include Eagle’s Nest and Songbird Campsites. These two sites provide breathtaking, long-range mountain views and epic sunsets. They are great for quick get-aways, with ease of access to main roads/highways. Indigo Eagle Sanctuary Sites are located within a few miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee Reservation (museum, shops, dining) and Maggie Valley, a quaint mountain town with more shops, food, and entertainment. Nearest grocery stores are Ingles in Waynesville, or Food Lion in Cherokee. The popular Asheville is about a 50minute drive from our Sanctuary. Plenty to explore here, while being able to unplug and unwind.
