Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.

The wild weather limited our options on an Easter weekend so we stayed on the Hive site which was nice enough and close to the facilities. Our host Ivan was friendly and helpful and responsive when we had questions.
We can’t wait to be back and enjoy the more remote sites when the access is dry and passable. So quiet and peaceful up there!

We got a bit lost but it was our fault. We thought we are in Markdale but we were in Durham and so we misinterpreted the direction. Lol. But nevertheless, it was one of the fun part of adventure!

Winter camping in the cozy forest dome was 100 percent perfect. Fran is super welcome and accommodating my extra chair request, wood for the stove when needed... The dome is thoughtfully planted amongst the trees and situated as to watch the sun or moon rise in just the right spot from the comfort of a most comfortable bed. I really appreciated getting to use the wood stove. It worked really well and was east to control the temps. My favorite part other the shower was just sitting in quiet and peaceful calm looking out the window... like a cat...at the trees. Thank you so much Fran. Greatly appreciated. H

Weekend Trip to Cozy Forest Dome
We had an amazing experience at the Forest Dome. It was absolutely beautiful and so romantic. The dome was cozy and warm, and every detail was thoughtfully done — from the art sculptures and gorgeous wooden floors to the large window overlooking the snow-covered trees. It truly felt perfect.
Fran was a kind and helpful host, which made our stay even better. The whole experience was so serene and restorative — it really resets your soul. We would definitely stay here again.

This was an amazing stay. First, it was extremely last minute as we booked it 15 minutes before showing up. Despite that, Joan was very accommodating and set us up right away. It was a nice basement unit with everything we needed included heated floors in the bathroom. The property itself was also beautiful - though we didn’t see a lot of since it was winter. Excellent stay for a romantic getaway. If you think a wood burning sauna big enough for 4, a shower big enough for a table and bench, and a hot tub just outside your door makes for a perfect getaway, this is your place. The fridge was big enough for a three night stay, unlimited firewood, and all the oils, lotions and scents one could ask for. Truly a great place to be with the one you love, and your dogo. Could there have been a table inside for us nerds to puzzle on? Sure. But the floor works too. Would go back.

We loved Gillian and Jim’s property. Our stay could not have been better. Their hospitality and kindness went above and beyond. Their attention to the little things made all the difference. They aim to please by exceeding all expectations, more than any other host we have experienced. The three of us were very comfy and had lots of fun after dark by the fire and inside playing games. We got lucky with clear skies and sun. The stars were out and the sun in the morning was glorious. We only had time for one night but it felt like so much more.
