Weekend Trip to Fifthwind

We had a wonderful time in the Funky Bunky! It was just what our family was looking for. We had our privacy, but Henry was available when we needed anything. My son and I loved visiting the lambs. Henry and his wife are really interesting people to talk to. It is a beautiful property!

Weekend Trip to Fifthwind

It is located on a slightly higher hill than the surrounding area, so it is peaceful and beautiful to watch the sunrise and sunset. The owner was kind and always ready to listen to the guests. The kids roasted marshmallows and had fun chatting at the campfire prepared for us. Above all, the beautiful constellations in the pitch-black night sky were the highlight of the camping. The kids were amazed and ~ it made the place even more special. It was a pity that we couldn't see the beautiful garden near the host because it wasn't full spring, but I hope we'll have the chance next time. The accommodation is spacious and cozy enough for 3 people. When we went, it was a little windy and cool in the morning and evening, but it was well insulated, so it wasn't cold even without the heater on. In particular, the bathroom was located right next to the accommodation, and it was clean and well-maintained so that there was no smell. We didn't use the shower room that was guided, but if you go camping in the summer, you can wash and use it comfortably. Additionally, electricity, Wi-Fi, and various kitchen facilities provide convenience during the camping period.

Accommodations are a 16’ x 20’ prospector wall tent, set up with queen size deluxe air mattress, bunk bed and single cots for extra guests. We have a food prep table, dishes, frying pan and cooking pot, a small microwave, single induction cooktop, small bar fridge and a kettle and coffee maker. You can eat your meals at the picnic table inside the tent or at the outside picnic table. There is a kerosene heater for cooler nights and a wood pellet stove which will heat the tent during the winter months. An outdoor dishwashing station is available with on demand hot water. We have a basic dug privy. There are bicycles available to use to explore the island and there are 3 kayaks and 2 canoes for paddling in the sheltered channel and the lake. Fishing generally is good. Ferry toll is $8 for a return trip and the ferry from downtown Kingston to Wolfe Island is free. Linens and sleeping bags are available if requested .
